After the last price increase i curtailed my purchases and bought some infinity models.

Will I quit 40k? No. Will I buy less than I would have before the price increases? Yes.
I had planned on going to gamesday and I probably still will go, I sitll love the game and the hobby, I just wont be supporting GWS anymore with my wallet.

Oh yea... and since GW doesn't support the indy GT... or run their own GT... i think i'll just play the game and buy OTHER models From other companies for my armies : )

I'd lower my consumption of GW goods if it were possible. As it stands, I'm already at zero when it comes to new models*, so am content to point and laugh.

I got out 2 price increases ago and sold everything GW last year. I am still trying to find a game and looks like Flames of War is winning.

So I'm in a gw store right now and hmmmm no price rises. Thinking the poster should be banned or at least heckled profusely for making up stuuf

So we are still in rumor territory, then? I really have no desire to wade through the 14 or so pages of wailing and gnashing of teeth to confirm if this is an actual price increase or not.

Personally I'm getting out of the GW scene now. I only started the hobby late last year and my biggest "army" is only a mere 660 points of Blood Angels anyway (90% of which is the AoBR stuff). Since then I've also purchased the Two player starter for Warmachine and I think the game seems much more interesting and my style from a gameplay perspective. That and Infinity looks pretty cool as well.


I still like GW paints, and I'll still buy the 40k videogames (Dawn of War 2: Retribution on a Steam sale is what introduced me to the series to begin with, actually) but as far as models and wargaming goes I'm just going to bail out now - I'm very frugal and picky with my money and no amount of love I have for the 40k universe is going to change that.

Have you ever looked at a price tag and laughed out loud when you saw something outrageously overpriced? Like to the point where you just walk out the store? Thats where GW is at for me.

There's an official notice up on GW's website, the price increase is indeed happening, but it starts May 28th. However how much of an increase is rumor territory.

I know a lot of people complained about the large difference between canadian and us prices, myself included, but I'd have rather they brought our prices down to meet the us price and not raise the us prices to ours.

Price increase has already been confirmed as MWG has announced that they recieved a letter from GW to inform the price increase in June.

You got a link? I have not really trod through the GW news site in awhile and I am totally lost.

I'm done buying 40k models now. I was planning on starting 2 new armies after 6th launched and bumping both my 2k lists to 4k, but now another company will be receiving my business.

Ah well, all the more money to spend on FW stuff! Some of the GW plastics they sold on their site were quite a bit cheaper before, now they will be a bargain what with the currency conversion...

To be honest I already have so much to paint that there will be another increase before I need more stuff!

To everyone that keeps spouting that it's May 28th, think back in all of your years of GW games, when have they done anything big that wasn't on a Saturday? Every release, every update, even the slight increase in March 3rd was a Saturday and that wasn't announced. The May 28th link doesn't have a year attached to it, until I see a year or some other date, I'm going to assume the dates given are all wrong, especially May 28th... since that was the date of LAST YEAR'S price increase...
