So, whats the most humiliating way to die in 40k, or what's your biggest game fail?

I have a few choice examples(a few are true)


Being killed by Aun-Va.

Trygon dying to Njall Stormcaller's raven(true story!)

Crowe killing himself with perils when in combat with only 3 DE wytches(again, true story)

I once heard of an Assault Terminator who died to a Fire Warrior. In CC.

the chance of that happening is around 2.7% if my math is correct.

My friend had three guardsmen kill four terminators before without suffering a casualty...

but the most humiliating way to die in 40k in general.... shnu-shnu'd to death by followers of slaanesh! (not sure if... ya know, the sexual term would be out-of-line)

While his forces were 'trolol-ing' all the while. I feel for you.

I had a squad of valhallan ice warriors rapid fire a squad of termies to death with their laser pointers in two consecutive games...

My most embarrassing death occurred just about a week ago when I charged my wyches into a dread, only to realize I had been short on points and skipped the HW grenades.

That Daemon Prince that had his balls ripped off by an Ork Warboss (it was in the 4th ed Ork Codex I believe)

I heard about some Pathfinders that killed Fateweaver in hand-to-hand.

The best one I ever saw in a game was a full Inquisitor and retinue held up in close combat for 3 turns by 3 gun drones, and then killed by an Ethereal. Harsh times indeed.

Vets dismount from Vendetta, throws a demolition charge, scatters maximum distance back and exploded a Chimera behind them, the explosion kill half the squad inside, then 3 outside....

Oh yea, that's after I re-rolled from Bring It Down order... (They were throwing it at a C'tan who was next to a monolith...) I would have only hit three vets with the original roll...

They really ought to stop making those boomerang demo charges.

Almost lost the first round of ardboyz to that one...

Full ten woman banshee squad led by doomseer charges and destroys a ten man necron warrior squad led by necron lord.

The lord had lightning field, and it killed over half my squad including the farseer. .

I can't think of anymore terrible deaths I had, but my pathfinders sniped down my SW rival players terminator rune priest, after my guardian warlock killed his last termy bodyguard in CC.
My fire dragon exarch also killed two chaos termis in CC.

Archon with Shadow Field, Agonizer and Splinter Pistol charges into a ten man Guard Squad, wiffs two consecutive rounds of close combat and ends up getting beaten to death by the Guardsmen.

The Avatar getting killed in close combat by a thirty-blob of Guardsmen isn't statistically humiliating, but going off of the flavor text?

Being killed in a sniper duel against a grot.

Playing IG....last shot in round 7 all my opponent had left was Abbadon with one wound remaining. I had fired everything I had at him for the second round to try and kill him, but he was still running around popping my transports and killing my troops. I had one Psyker left in a battle squad that was fleeing passed him. I shot laspistol, hit, wounded and he rolled a one...killing Abbadon with a fleeing psyker using a laspistol. I think the guy is still getting teased about it.

Old Zogswort turns an opponent into a Squig then said squig kills your Warboss.

2ed: Carnifex jumped on a Razoback, threw the turret at a Dreadnaut, Dread exploded and killed a nearby Apothecary.

2ed: Marneus Calgar's Displacer Field took him out of a Carnifex's arms, and into the middle of a pack of Genestealers.

2ed: Eversor Assassin on a tall building dodged a Spore Mine's blast, fell off, broke his neck.

2ed: Termagant. Lightning Claw Terminator. Termagant was proxied by a plastic Grot, who was rewarded with the most OTT kustomised weapon I could make from my bits box.

2ed: Lone Apothecary hides from Tyranid Attack (all units recycle, wipe out all enemy in 6 turns to win) and on final turn runs up tall building out of charge range. A Lictor's Flesh Hooks (harpoon gun effect in 2ed) are the only ranged attack able to draw LOS; hit, no wound, but drags him off edge to die from the fall.

3ed: Lone Plasma Gunner moves full distance to charge Termagant blob. Kills one. They break. Runs 12" in pursuit; horde of bugs killed by one guy running as fast as a Land Speeder.

4ed: Entire platoon of Guard paratroops Deep Strike right in front of Plasma Cannon Devastators. Gunner survive to Marine turn, a few lucky scatter later and Guard casualties are total.

4ed: Plasma Cannon Devastators with Combi-Plasma sergeant roll nothing but 1's when shooting point-blank at Blood Angels assault squad. Assault squad look at sole surviving bolter marine, decide he's not worth the effort, and zoom off to attack something else.

5ed: Vect leaps out of a Raider with a Wych unit. Hive Guard shoot down the Raider, causing a wound on the unit. Vect takes the wound on his Shadow Field. Batteries run out, with Swarm Lord in charge distance. Chomp.

5ed: Storm Troopers with Meltaguns blast Old One Eye, taking a wound off him. He rolls snake eyes for difficult terrain and can't charge. They take another two wounds off him. Mortar support desperately tried to finish him, and fail. Rolls all 5's for his grow-a-new-ass superpower, putting him on full health as he tramples on them and goes on to chase off Scout Sentinels.

My grots charged some DA, kill one or two and survive like three turns of combat haha.
Oh and my warboss (with two wounds remaining) charged a group of three or four pink horrors. They swing first cause of his pk and kill him
Or snikrot and his ladz charging a warwalker and blowing it up..... 5 kommandoz die in the progress

I tried to drop a Dreadnought behind a Chaos Vindicator through drop podding. Deep Strike Scatter. Lands 7 inches away the table.

On top of that, my Sternguards were wiped out by said Vindicator.

5ed: My squad of normal guardsmen keep Ghazkull Thraka in CC for 3 turns. After that, Thraka (who has one wound left) dies from a laspistol shot fired by my sergeant. The look on the face of my opponent is priceless.

4ed: My Leman Russ Battletank is destroyed by a single shot from a necron warriors Gauss- blaster.

Playing a custom fort defence scenario, playing my mate's IG with him playing my Nids. Square fort, he breaches a wall. I have a Demolisher fire into the Nid-packed breach; full scatter, it lands on my HQ Command squad, killing them all. Nids gleefully pile through and eat everything.

My friend devastator squad with missiles is stopped from devastating anything for 3 turns by deepstriking drones! true story!

Deepstrike my Death Company behind a hammerhead, can't assault. Taus' turn, hello Death Company, meet large blast template sub munition, only a few survived. So much for a glorious death, ugh why must they land in a big circle

I'll bet the few that survived ripped the HH a new one

full wolfguard charges a group of 10 gretchin with a rutherder... thanks to a spectacular amount of ones opn his part and 6's on mine 3 marines limp away to get assaulted by the grechin next turn who finish em off this time


definatly statistically shouldn't have happened

A Carnifex with two wounds left being killed by a bolt pistol would be pretty humiliating (it happened to me), but some of the others listed here are worse.

IG mortar team fire one round it scatters straight back on to them....

This I put on another thread as well.

My friend is playing Planetstrike as tau defenders,his opponent GK.


He was dared by me to use the Aun'va,and Klador Draigo drops in and assaults him.


Draigo misses with evry attack and Aun'va rolls all 6s.


Klador Draigo fails one save and rolls a 1 for sweeping advance,Aun'va rolls 6.





Both players were like this
