Hey everybody. As the title states I am totally new to table top war gaming. You can say the most experience I had with war on a table is RISK, i know its not the same lol.
I finally gave into the hobby after many years of trying to resist. (Money and time) But no longer. I have been a big fan of the 40k universe since Daw of War for the PC came out many years back. Recently I started to get into the books because of Space Marine coming out for consoles, on my birthday of all days....awesome. Sadly the stupid Mail hasn't brought it to me yet since I got the collectors edition and I don't know what is going on.
I was a big fan of the Imperial guard but after hearing stories from my friend who read many of the books and is into the lore, I shifted towards the Space Marines and those are going to be my little army I will play with. I love the artistic side of things since I was very art oriented most of my life in school till college. I am going to do a custom chapter, I already have most of the stuff in mind and fluff of course.
I bought the Assault on Black Reach Starter yesterday, still need some cutters and modeling files since I hate moulding lines. My favorite part is going to be painting these little guys and seeing my ideas come to reality. Any tips are welcome, started reading the rule book (a bit scared) and am looking to be a successor chapter to one of the chapters with their own codex.
Sorry for the long intro.

Im doing a custom scheme. Just got space marine today and got to try out my layout.I Like it. I am most likely going with blood angels codex or the dark angels since I like tactical marines. Most likely blood angels since the fluff my friend is helping me write is leaning towards them.
