Well, that still won't change the "amazing" effects they had in the second movie.

Yep, it's a promotion for Star Wars: the Complete Saga, released on blu-ray. All 6 Star Wars movies, plus 3 bonus discs, for 80 bucks. The box art is actually pretty neat. It shows the young Anakin from Episode 1 standing on Tatooine, with the ghost image of Luke standing behind him.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

We have the two trilogies in different sets on Blu-ray on sale for $29.99 each, don't have the complete saga in one set though.

Well I've watched the prequels so far, sound quality alone was well worth the upgrade, a few minor tweaks, he added more in from the cut pod race section and other minor things I noticed as I was watching but can't remember now.

CGI yoda in Phantom Menace was much better as well.

Going to watch the original films this week, watching them when the boys are around so that will be a New Hope on Tuesday, Empire on Friday and Retrun on Sat.

Not sure how I am going to take some of the changes there, the change to the Vader/Emperor scene worries me the most.

Although the Ewoks having CGI eyes should be interesting, should make them even more creepy than normal.

As a fellow Star Wars fan, I am surprised that people are buying into this garbage.

I find your lack of faith in the old movies... (say it with me)... disturbing.

The changes are on YouTube.

Vader gives a weak, "nooOOOOooo" when he throws palatine off the ledge on the Death Star.

Obiwan gives a goofy as Hell yowl to scare away the Sand people.

Ewoks eyes blink (the only good change)

I admit I never saw the original trilogy in full until after the Special Edition updates (I'd seen it before, on VHS, but never really understood it until it came out on DVD), but what's with the big stink over the second NOOOOOOO! in the end of Return of the Jedi? I saw it the other night, and it really doesn't seem out of place. It did a decent job of showing how Anakin's resolve towards the Dark Side finally snapped, and he redeemed himself by throwing Palpatine over the edge.

What's all the fuss about?

Suffolk, where the Aliens roam.

The main reason I brought them is the sound quality difference, which is quite amazing. Blueray sound is much better/clearer than a normal DVD.

The Pod race sounded fething amazing, and the Sonic bombs in two where quite eye watering for example.

Ebay has been showing the Star Wars ads for over a week, now.

Also, Lunar Eclipse = Christian Little, is watching an Ork Mek with Kustom Force Field, recently searched "40k Ork", and likes Star Trek: Deep Space 9.

Personally, I just thought the silence of Vader made it that much more powerful a moment. It let your imagination and understanding of the characters fill out the rest.

Exactly. Lucas is vandalising his own movies as a gimmick to get people to buy them again because he needs money for his hair products.

How can he vandalize them if they're his to begin with? I really don't see what the big deal is...

I remember when they came out with the remastered version of the trilogy where Lucas went back and redid all of the crappy effects he wanted to do right in the first place...I didn't see anyone complaining then...

Well yes, but Vader wasn't shouting NOOOOOOOOO every three films then was he? I agree for the silent vader thing. No voice= greater effect

It isn't that he is so much vandalizing as fixing things that aren't broken. I can understand fixing sound quality and whatnot, but we all know he is just going to shove more crap into the movies that don't need to be there. Giving us a Yoda with CG eyes doesn't change the fact that episode 1 sucked, if he went and made a star wars movie that wasn't bad and called it episode 1 and the current episode 1 episode doesn't-exist then I would buy it.
