I never post replies on this thread. There is literally so many Fan-freakin'-tastic works on here,
I'd never have time to post anywhere else!
So I'd like to offer a blanket, heartfelt statement:
"To all of you maniacs that posted all your hard work on here - Thank You!!!!"
It's one thing to make it, but to take the tme to share it is awesome too!

I made this from a Pegasus mount. I quite frankly questioned my sanity when i was done. It is based of an MLP model.
Everything on that model aren bits(excluding the rider)
They are all modeled on with milliput. Even the horn is GS wrapped around a paper clip and the tail is entirely custom made. I also learned how to make cool gems.
Also note how i removed the entire bridle and made it look like it never existed.

Very subtle. Looks like the double-head eagle from the metal/Finecast Space Marine Terminator Librarian model on the Nemesis Warding Stave or, more likely, a Nemesis Halberd, GS cloaks and maybe the book, an Iron Halo on the Storm Shield guy (and that itself is a conversion, so I'm guessing he's a Draigo? A very cool one! And the guy on the right has the Nemesis Warding Stave head on his back?

The Baron still doesn't understand how Green stuff can be used so awesomely. It simply isn't pliable enough when he uses it.
Obsidian Raven wrote:VikingScott wrote:The best conversions are those you don't notice till pointed out.
i believe this whole heartedly.
IMO, a conversion shouldn't scream "THIS IS A CONVERSION". It should look like the model came in a kit, and you did very little to no work on it.
No no no, I must protest here. I don't want to spend countless hours/effort and resources to make something unique and special, just for someone to simply assume I built it from the instructions on the box.

That's actually an infinitely better way to describe how i think conversions should look than the way i explained it

Ah, that depends on the person. If someone wishes to go into grand detail about what they did, so be it. All I would ever say is that it was a conversion. If they wanted to know more I would provide.
Obsidian Raven wrote:I prefer subtle stuff when it comes to conversions, to be honest.
Once again that depends on the conversion. Some people like the subtle stuff, some like more grand efforts. I don't think either should go unnoticed.
Zefig wrote:I think it's best when they're good enough to have come in a kit, but don't look like anything else that's out there. Otherwise, what's the point?
Converstions are good when they come as the model in the box, but can be made to look unique... So what you're saying is that there is no point in conversions which have bits from other models?

No, I just think they're best when they're really unique. That's still certainly possible to do if you kitbash in creative ways.
