I've been following this thread for a while and am very impressed. Great use of those old school minis! You make me want to dig through my old collection and start repainting some of those ancient figs

OH, my mistake... I thought you were referring to his avatar pic. Sorry DE, I join the chorus of "I can't see you pic". You might try re-loading it, or check to see that when you cut-and-pasted the location you didn't accidentally lop off a few characters.

I did make a little progress on WM's marine. Wife has been gone all week so it's all I can do to keep up with the kids and house. I gave him a complete wash in dilute (50/50) Thraka Green, the quickly went back over all the high areas and "painted" them with water to pull the wash off, then made sure no drips developed in the low areas. This did a nice job of adjusting the tone to a shade I really like, it deepens the shadows of course... but it also helped define the gradients too. One lining of selected cracks & crevices with full strength Thraka Green should complete this aspect of the painting process. Then it's on to painting the details! (the fun part)

Sounds like a good way to do the green.

Do you use the airbrush to spray the green on to save time (and thraka green) when doing multiple models?

The airbrush and washes do not play well together. I've tried it... bad scene. Really, the process above from start to finish probably takes less than 5 minutes to complete, so the airbrush would actually make it slower, not faster... as I'd still have to stop spraying and go back in with the clean water on the high areas, get rid of drips, etc.

Airbrush is great for some things... others are best done the old fashioned way.

WM is right though, if i write "& amp;" without the space in bewtween it changes it to just "&"
