I received an e-mail yesterday stating the following:

Dear FRP Games Customer,
2011 YEAR END CLOSEOUT
This Week Only, save an additional 50% off Clearance Sale Items!
Normally these items are 30-90% off, save 50% off this price until 12/31/2011!
Use Gift Code: END2011 at Checkout!

There are some great deals if you can comb through the clearance listings. I placed an order yesterday for roughly $75 worth of merchandise (MSRP) and paid only $28 with shipping after the additional discount.

Tried it. Every click of the next page seemed to cause a failure of the site. Did seem like some nice deals though for those with more patience than me.

Those HDF drop-pods are only $3.75 each after the discount- damned good value if you ask me. I bought 7!

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

5 of those drop pods with shipping was $25. I'd say that's a pretty good price.

I just had my order arrive this morning with absolutely no problems.

If you can get onto the site I'd recommend snagging a deal!

Once again, I cannot recommend these clowns.

Sadly, although I've gotten burned by these guys before, I found the siren call of their low prices to be compelling. So, I put in an order, and what do you know, a hot stove still burns me. Really, I blame myself, since fool me thrice and all.

Specifically, My order arrived today, and nearly nothing I ordered was in the box. I called, and their automated system has you hit "2" to check on an order. Doing so does nothing, it repeated 3x and hung up. I called back, and hit 1 to place and order. Went right though. A lady looked up my status, and said it looks like they couldn't find some of my items, so I'd be getting a credit back to my card hopefully really soon now. Since it's been 10 days since they shipped it and it hasn't arrived, I'll try and speed the process up by filing a chargeback. I paid $12 shipping based the weight of 4 heavy metal figurines, and what I actually got was only a paintbrush and tiny resin Kromlech turret.

I don't care if they're selling Baneblades for two dollars that are hand-delivered by Salma Hayek, I'm never shopping with these guys again.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that, Ouze. I'll report on my shipment when it arrives.

The drop-pods might actually be worth it, given their low price (also, I hear Scarlett Johanssen is delivering them in a tube-top). But poor service deserves punishment- if i'd heard of your difficulties before ordering I wouldn't have done so. Dakkanaut solidarity! Let us know if they somehow find the good grace to refund some of your shipping costs, too.

My experience was totally the opposite. Got my 5 drop pods the 3rd day after I ordered. I thought that was really good since it was between Christmas and New Years.

Ouze, sorry to hear about your experience. Your complaint isn't the first I have heard regarding FRP selling items they don't actually have in stock. Seems that happens even when they aren't having a big sale. Considering their site was overwhelmed by the response to their sale it is not surprising that some orders fell through the cracks, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating when it is your order that gets screwed up.

Hopefully you get your money back quickly with a minimum of hassle.

Hmm, I was going to order a few figs from them that I couldn't find elsewhere... will be cautious about it now, but I couldn't locate them at other sites (the viridian sniper blisters for urban war / metropolis)

Not to take away from the bad experience Ouze is having, but by and large FRP has done great with my orders. I have been ordering from them since 2009 and except for a few orders that took longer than I was expecting there haven't been any hiccups.

If you check their eBay feedback, however, it seems that Ouze's problem isn't unique. I guess they have some inventory management issues despite their automated set up. They are usually prompt with their e-mail responses if you contact them during regular business hours so if you are on the fence about placing an order a quick e-mail to check if the item is still in stock might allay any fears.

Thanks, that's a great idea. I'll just contact them first to see if it's in-stock... if I don't hear back, I can just try to find it elsewhere, and if I do then I'll know if they have it. Sounds good

I knew this might happen, since it happened before. However, I did have one flawless purchase with them, in the middle, which is what made me think I could try again. Nothing worse than a gambler winning a hand in the midst of a losing streak. Their prices really are solid, when they can deliver on them.

If the sale is irresistible, I think you'd better call first, as others have said.

Those Drop Pods were enormously tempting - $5 each! But since I already have one assembled and unpainted, I was able to resist.

I can't seem to find the drop pods you were talking about. Any links?

Dang. I would have picked up a few for the sale price... Thanks.

Got my order both quickly and sans error. Some of the sale items (resin ones) were a bit chipped-up, but that's what you get for 25% of original retail, I guess.

I'm going to spend tomorrow happily cleaning, pinning, and priming a whole lot of resin street bases for my Infinity stuff, and when the new Chaos 'dex hits I'll have a ton of easy not-Dreadclaws to hand. Thanks, FRP!
