Wow. Can't believe I've only (re)stumbled across this blog. Absolutely great work Joe; the Termies, Wolf, Necro-sphinx, the Dread... All of it is great work; amazing job man. Then there's the latest Death Guard too!

Can't wait to see more of the termies particularly, as they look great with the little bit of GS work you added. And then there's adding the paint to do too.

How are you intending to represent some of these models such as Wolf, the Beastmen and the Dread in-game btw?

I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

@Asylum: I can assure you the seals won't look pure!

@Nightfall: Thanks! There's no model you can't make with dakka tutos and some tools!

@Just Dave: Thanks man! I'm glad you appreciate my conversions. Wolf is a 4 CCW defiler (don't ask about the cannon or I'l tell you about the loincloth ), for the beastmen I use the old Latd codex (I know it's outdated, but it's only for friendly games) or IG. The Sorcerer dread...well I'd like to play it as a TS equivalent to the BA furioso librarian (and without this stupid madness rule which doesn't fit with the TS fluff!!!), but I have no rules for it now so I play it as a regular CSM dread. (Of course if you have adequat rules for it...)

As promised, here's an early PIP of the first terminator:

What do you think so far ?

I had said earlier seals of corruption, but seemingly the post didn't make it through...
So that's a great idea!!!

TS Terminator is looking more than promising... The highlights on the helmet faceplate is especially exquisite...

Can't wait for more!!!

You've done a great job placing the TS part onto the helmet no seams and like Yggdrasil I like the highlights.

How about "not" painting the eyes?

It looks pretty grimdark like that already uh?

Or, you know... The usual deep red...

And what about the armor eyes (on the chest on the pelvic area and on the shoulderpad) ? Should I paint them black with a slight grey highlighting?

I can't wait to see them, I guess they would be impurity seals rather than purity seals.

Terminator looks excellent BTW, love the highlights they really pop.

I think to get a scary black eye, just add 1 white dot in the top right corner, and gloss varnish it. No grey highlights. Then if that dosn't look good go deep red

Thanks!

As I mentioned it earlier, the dread is nearly done (at least for the modelling job) But one point Bother me: its base!

I don't want a plain base and I won't have the occasion to pucharse a cool resin base so I'll have to make it myself. But my problem here is not technical, I just cruelly lack of inspiration.
Any idea?

EDIT:
I've been making some GSing on the sorceror dread during my lunchbreak, and by the same occasion, I started to work on the corruption seal, and finally I've finished the GSing of the Snake Prince!

Talking about the Snake Prince, I'm planning to give him a loincloth from the DP kit (the cloth one, not the chainmailed) to hide the awfull Mess that's the junction between the DP torso ant the Trygon tail.

Cheers!

Joe

Hmmmm

Well for the Dread's base you could get some plasticard (If you have any spare From memory its rather expensive) And make a Mark of Tzeentch on it surrounded by a wheel of chaos 9You know Its like a circle with little spikes coming out at regular intervals) Anyhoo those two would be engraved into the plasticard and then you could add bits of rubble/sand/whteva outside the circle but inside it could be a scorched area from where he teleported onto the battle field?

IDK just some Ideas

DP looking good, nice call on the cloth to hide join

On dread basing, I need some ideas too, ATM I'm just using GW dread bases apart from the nurgle one. If you got some spare SM parts around, you could scatter them around the base or stick them on ritual spikes

As an fellow chaos player, I think your conversions are just too amazing to be true (im almost embarrased about my own conversions which i've done). Your dreadnoughts are incredibly powerful looking and menacing, plus your demon princes are god like (ill have to make couple of own, just because i love your conversions). Keep up the good work and may the chaos gods be with you

Ritual spikes, I realize that I have never done it before on a base, thank youTipios!

Thanks Tony, I'll try to find (or make) dead things to put on the prince's base (I think I have a RT era crippled space marine somewhere, I guess it's time to use it )

I must say I'm really glad to see all the positive feedback on my latest work, it's really motivating!

I've found my crippled marine to use on the Prince's base:

Of course he needs some gore and bloodstrains (and to be repainted as well ) but here's the idea:

Do you guys think I should order a dead marine from GW to use as a second victim? Or should I try to make one by myself?

I'm glad you like it! I was gonna say, it had everything you were after, but I didn't want to hint too unsubtly! Of course you are more than welcome to use it should you want to, but I can understand if you don't considering it's not official.

Loving the Snake Prince; I've always wanted to make one myself, although I was intending to use the Red Terror tail myself. Loving the look of him though; what did you use for the head? Looks very alien-ish!
I definitely like the idea of a second corpse on the base, although i'd probably go for the make-your-own option to save on monies.
I must admit however, I think the tail may be a bit too big compared to the body, but maybe that's just me...
As I said though, looks great. I look forward to more!

Thanks!

@Just Dave: The head is from Rackham's Aberration Prime kit (you can still find one for cheap on ebay). About the size of the tail, it makes indeed a tall prince, but the proportion of the tail has to fit the morphology of the DP torso (I mean it has to be strong enough to allow him to move an over-armored/over-musculated torso.) BrassScorpion from whom I stole the idea didn't use all the length of the trygon tail (making is at least 2 inches shorter and placing tentacles at the end) and it looks really good.

tipios wrote:

I know...I'm weak! (soon or later I'll have to go to a Anonymous Bits Buyer meeting )

I'll make one myself then, I think a marine trying to raise his gun with his remaining arm would look good!
