Now that...is bs. More stupid crap to try and kill off the used game market.

Oh, I've already watched a YouTube video that pissed me the hell off. I can't remember the guy's name, but I remember the video had like a minute-long anime-themed intro which was a pain in the ass to sit through...seriously, when your fething intro takes up about a third of the content of your video just do the internet a favor and stop making videos, please.

X) one-hit kills don't sound very balanced in the first place but I'll take your word for it.

The game gives this as the perfect anti-assault / raptor combo.

Remember 300?

Its like that with power armor.

As to the game itself, if the MMO is along these lines, I could really like that one. THIS ONE? I just don't like someone telling me that the only way to go through the game is to run me through hordes of jackassery and think that that is the only way. You can't pickup dead guys stuff, you can't blow up the environment, you have to go through the little pathway that they set for you...

Everyones experience is the same. If your buddy goes through and plays it while you watch? YOU might as well have. The "Interactive" movie thing is one thing. this is just wasting a good CGI movie by holding your hand.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Not necessarily saying this to you, but what you said triggered it: We've become spoiled with games today. Back in the early days(and really up until the late 90's), almost ALL video games were like that sans cut scenes. Even then, couldn't the same be said of Gears, Halo, and many other FPS/3PS games today?

Indeed it can. The 'Story'/'Campaign' mode is just that--it tells a set story.

I think someone was expecting The Elder Scrolls: Space Marine.

If you're wanting a vast, open world that you can explore freely then you're probably more interested in the MMO and not this game.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take to complete the campaign roughly? Do they take any Force Unleashed 2 shortcuts like just making you backtrack through the same levels to pad the length?

I played it on easy ( off ) and finished in about twelve hours, taking time to scour levels for servo skulls and gawking at the scenery. A dedicated player should burn through this in eight or so hours.

I tend to do the initial run through on normal to mainly enjoy the story at a timely manner while getting a hang of the controls... and then go through on hard for the achievements/women/glory.

Are there Space Wolves, Black Templar, Blood Ravens, Iron Warriors, Emperor's Children icons available? (Since those are the pre-order armours).

Yup. If you go to their forums, you can find a sticky thread where they show you what the difference is between the space wolf marine available in the customizer and the one in the preorder set. You can make basic versions of tons of known chapters/legions/warbands including the preorder variants, just with less bling.

I tend to play on normal generally as that's the game the developers wanted you to experience. That's my thinking, anyway.

Man, I have been saying that to myself every few hours for the last damn 3 days.

Sadly, my (fifth!) xbox decided to brick on me right before the fall season of new releases so I won't be playing with you all for the first week or two. Ironically, the console's breakdown made my preorder decision easier though as I wanted the relic bolter from Walmart but they only ship on release day (which means I won't get it for a few days after that) but was planning on going with gamestop so I could play right on release day. Now that I won't have a working machine to actually play on, I'll be able to get my preferred bonus!.... Hey, I'm trying to find the silver lining on this $100 breakdown cloud... :(

I haven't played MP yet but I played the first 30-40 minutes of the campaign, and it was pretty epic. I don't like the gimmicky 'vengeance launcher' but it's pretty awesome so far. Feels like you are playing a marine true to their fluff.
