Game 2 against Adam T's Grey Knights

Welp I got max battle points my first round at WGC, off to a good start.

Round 2 pairings go up incredibly fast, and Im on table 8 against a Grey Knights Player. Adam has a really nicely painted GK army that is blue, with green lightning. The models are based and painted really well, and its fun to look at. Besides the painting his list is complete cheese.

Adams List

Inquisitor in Terminator Armor, DemonHammer, Psycannon, Upgrade to psyker, Hammerhand.
Inquisitor, BrokoTrope Grenades, rad grenades, 1 servo skull, power armor, Upgrade to psyker, Hammerhand.

7x Purifiers, Knight of the flame with Master Crafted DemonHammer, 2x Psycannons, 3x Halberds, Rhino.
6x Purifiers, Knight of the flame with demonhammer, 2x psycannons, 2x Halberds, Rhino.

Eldar 1

My plan for this game is Iffy. I know the middle of the Board is important. My plan is to have some kind of Multi Combat with 3 Wraithlords, Karandras, and Seer council, and take the middle objective. I know I can turbo boost something for the other side of the board objective. Kill points will be about if I can blow up Rhinos/Dreds or not.

Jetbikes Reserve.
Fire Dragons Turbo Boost up the middle of the Board, Karandras's Serpent does the same.
Jetbikes Turbo behind that.
Wraithlords move and run.
DAVU Serpent comes in right.



GK 1

His army doesnt have spotlights and it moved so it doesnt do anything with shooting.

Terminator squad with 2 Inquisitors comes in staggared left.
3 Rhinos with 2 small strike squads and a purifier squad comes in right in front of the building in the center.
Everything else comes in left including the 10 man strike squad .
One Dred comes in far left.
2 Dreds come in far right.



Eldar 2

Seer Council Fortunes itself (It will do this every turn of every game BTW)

Both Bikes come in 24" behind the army.

Wraithlords Move up.

1 Fire Dragon serpent Turbo Boosts Right.
1 Fire Dragon Serpent Turbos Left.
Karandras serpent sits tight in the ruins with cover galore.
Wraithlords move up, with the seer council directly behind them.

I shoot Wraithlords and scatter DAVU Serpent into the right Rhinos. I manage to Immobolize 2 of them and stun another.

The plan here is pretty simple. Have a wall of wraithlords bait the Termiantors and whatever else, which will then get counter charged by Karandras and Seer Council. I need to watch out because the BrotherHood banner auto actives force weapons which means CYA WRAITHLORDS! As long as my farseer is alive HammerHand Shenanigans should be somewhat less of an issue, so I need to keep him alive. I think that I can take the shooting in the center. Through T8 , Karandras's Stealth and being inside a transport, and Fortune, I think that I will be able to win the middle objective. I also can keep a wave serpent in his deployment zone, and because we both can get the objective I can get 20 points, and if kill points go ok I can win with 30.





GK 2

Strike Squad with 2 Psycannons gets out, terminators move forward at a very large angle going towards my right of the building (It looks like the termiantors will go into the trap).

He Unleashes an absolutly insane amount of firepower. 3 RifleDreds and 10 Psycannons. LOL YEA OK THAT ISNT BROKEN AT ALL

When the dust settles my army proves to be somewhat resiliant. My left wave serpent is Shaken, even tho it was shot at by like 6 psycannons and a dred (ye cover saves and horrible damage result rolling). My right wave serpent is shaken so it can still move but not shoot. I also believe that Karandras's Serpent either gets blown up this turn, or next turn. (Karandras's serpent blows up either turn 2 or 3).

Eldar 3

Fortune Seer Council.
Guardian Bikes move up 12", then assault back 6 inches and get cover from lords and seer council.

Fire Dragons get out left to slag a dred.
Fire Dragons moves 12", and get out to slag the rear armor of another dred.

My Wraithlords and seer council spread out, making a spred out counter charge line.

Wraithlords shoot into the 3 rhinos with 2 purifier and a strike squad, and im able to get a few more immobolized and stunned results, but no more than that all 3 rhinos are still on the table. Every Turn Im putting 3 str8 shots, and 22 str6 shots into these rhinos.........
Fire Dragons shoot into the left dred, and with 5 Meltas Im able to stun it. I then charge the dred, and through like 4 rounds of combat I cant roll a 6.
Fire Dragons shoot into the REAR of the right dred, with 5 Meltas I manage to immobolize it.
My Wave Serpent then shoots into the rear of the dred, and I cant do anything with that either.





GK 3

He Shoots and assaults into my left stunned wave serpent and smacks it, he then charges the fire dragons turn 4, and eventually gets back into his rhino turn 5.
He shoots my right wave serpent and destroys it, although the fire dragons remain alive.
Karandras's Serpent Goes Down, but Karandras is in cover so its fine.

His Terminators move forward, but stop more than 12" away (I dont think hes going to take the trap, well FML).





Eldar 4

I have 3 Wraithlords, a seer council, 2 jetbike squads, Karandras and his squad on the middle objective. That is a total of 9 Units. I hope that if I can hold out I can beat him. He Has 3 Rhinos (that didnt die yet), 3 squads inside (one is moving to deal with dragons), and the terminators and 2 Inquisitors. That means that he has 9 units in the middle as well.

Im also getting smacked on kill points. He has like 5 to my 0. (good thing I cant destroy vehicles)

Fire Dragons shoot into the rear of the dred, and with 10 meltas into armor 10 I finally destroy the Accursed RifleManDred in the name of Craftworld Avior!

My DAVU Serpent Turbo Boosts towards his Board Edge.

Seer council casts fortune on itself.
Wraithlords, Wave Serpent, Jetbikes shoot into the termiantor unit. Through decent rolling on my part, and bad rolling my Adam, he looses 4 terminator bases (although the banner stands).

Right now the game is Karandras, 3 wraithlords, seer council, 2 jetbike squads standing off against Grey Knights in the middle of the board. They arnt moving into my assault range. Im not moving into their assault range because theres nothing to assault as its all still inside vehicles, and if I do move and assault the vehicles I would get counter charged, I would be at Initiative 1 with his Psyker Grenades.



GK 4

Terminators move up the left side of the building.
Guys on the left flank who just smacked my fire dragons get inside their transports and start rolling.
1 Purifier gets out on the right flank to kill my fire dragons.

Shooting sees some of Karandras's Lads go down.
Fire Dragons on the right and left are shot at and killed and finally beat to death into close combat.
Shooting see's a mass volley of psycannons hit my wraithlord. He causes 1 Rend and 2 wounds, and I fail my 2 saves and I pull the wraithlord model.




Eldar 5

Ive Lost kill points, Fubar.
Davu Serpent turbo boosts into his Deployment Zone taking that.

My Wraithlords and Jetbikes shoot into his Termiantor unit again, causing 15+ Wounds. He passes all of them.
My Seer council shoots its TL BS4 Into the Termiantors causing 12 wounds. He Passes all of them.
My Fortuned Seer council then assaults into the Termiantor unit. He Rolls is BrokoTrope (see what I did there?) Grenades, and Im leadership 2!

I roll my attacks and cause like 14 more wounds. He fails no armor saves except for 2 on his inquisitor.
He then responds, rolls really well, and I roll badly and loose 2 jetbikes from demonhammers.

My opponent just passed like 40 Armor saves on the terminators.

Right now I have 2 Wraithlords, farseer, seercouncil, Karandras and a dude and 2 jetbike squads on the middle. That is 8 units. Hopefully my opponent rolls badly and the game ends and I can get the middle objective. He has kill points, and we both have the deployment objective, so we each can get 20/20.




GK 5

Shooting Smacks a Wraithlord and Both Jetbike Squads off the Board (Horrible Horrible armor saves).
He assaults my Seer Council, and due to some shenanigan pile in moves my farseer is apparently on the other side and he gets like 2 demonhammers in b2b with him. My farseer was in the back, I have no idea how he got to the front side but whatever.

Some GK Squad assaults in. Because they have psker grenades im not at initiative 1. He wins combat, but due to embolden I hold.

We see if the game ends and It doesnt.

At this point I tell my opponent he can have the middle Primary and Kill Points as he has them hands down. I tell him that he wont be able to kill a fortuned wave serpent and the guys inside in a turn and I ask if I can concede and we each get that Primary. He says ok and Eldar Loose 10-30.

We Go Turn our cards in, and the BOLS people say both of us cant get the objective. I point out that the rules they wrote say "BOTH PLAYERS MAY ACHIEVE THIS OBJECTIVE". They tell us we tie so I end up loosing 25-5.




Game 2 Summary

Overpowered Army + Underpowered Army + Bad Dice + Not Good Stratagy = Loss.

It wasnt really what I did wrong, but rather what my opponent did right. He had 3 Squads in 3 rhinos parked 12" outside the objective. He never got out of his vehicles, and just sat there with his 10 psycannons and 3 rifle dreds and wore me down. He was a good player, and never moved into my DeathTrap in the center. He stayed away, and just shot me off of it through 5 turns of shooting. If He had moved a squad forward, I would of been able to get a massive multi assault off and win the game, but he never commited hits units to a fight, he just stayed back and shot me (which I didnt think he would do).

What really messed me up was the terminator squad with the brotherhood banner. Terminators with demonhammers are the one thing a seer council cant bring down. His 2+ armor saves are better than my 4++ against the hammers, and I really dont like charging into Terminators with my seer council as I cant wear them down.

I was really hesitant about assaulting into the middle. I would of assaulted into 3 rhinos, and then I would of gotten counter charged by a terminator squad and 3 squads inside the rhino. I would of been at initiative 1 and I would have lost and gotten tabled.

The Game would have gone differently if I had actually been able to kill 1 rhino, but I never was able to get a squad out of its box to assault. The Fire Dragons Whiffing on the Dreds didnt help, and the terminators passing a crap load of saves at the end didnt help as well.

If I played the game again, I would put my Fire Dragons on the Terminators and bring them down substantially mitigating their assault threat. I would turbo boost Karandras and move the seer council to get assaults on his walking units asap, and the wraithlords would move up and do what they can. WIth this list you really need to be aggressive and to go for close combat assaults. In this game Karandras and my Wraithlords never got into an assault, so my army just never had the chance to do the damage it needed to do. The only reason I avoided assault, where because GK have OP Grenades, Weapons, and Powers that make them alot better in CC. But If I did play the game again I would have ignored the dreds and just gone balls out for a close combat, and I think that outcome would be alot closer than this one.

I can kind of understand that with so many armies...then again I got my painting score done at 7:00 a.m. at NOVA last year to avoid this. Have to say it is a huge challenge keeping up with that many players and aspects of scores.

Game 3 Against Blood Angels

My Girlfriend gets dropped off, and I go and grab lunch. I actually go to eat as the same place as Reecius and w chat a little bit about Eldar.

I get back to the tournament, and get paired up against Blood Angels.

I actually forgot the Gentlemans name although I do remember that he was from virginia (I remember what he looks like and he was a really nice guy, but I had so much going on I just cant remember his name).

Eldar Pre-Game

This is actually a pretty dead on blood angels list. If I made a blood angels list this is pretty much what I would have in it, mabe with some dreds or something.

Mephiston needs to be killed by meltas, the sang can be killed by everything.

The BA squads can be picked off 1 at a time hopefully, and the preds can be ignored.



Eldar 1

I deploy, Turbo Boost Forward.



BA 1

He full Reserved.

Eldar 2

I turbo boost my army back towards my board edge, deploying as follows but with cover saves.
Guardian Jetbikes were reserved, but come in this turn.



Wraithlords forward.
Karandras in front.
Fire Dragons on each side.
Seer Council in the middle.

BA 2

He rolls his stuff and 1 of his squads gets the blessing, and Mephiston gets re rolls to hit on Karandras.

He rolls his decent of angels, and gets the magority of his army in.

He combat squads the squads of 10, and puts the powerfist and meltas and sang priests right next to me, while putting the other 15 guys back. The squad of 8 doesnt come in.

He shoots his preds at me and a wraithlord drops.
He shoots his 9 meltas at my tanks, and due to scatters to make pistols out of range, cover saves, and me negating his melta he only manages to destroy my right fire dragon serpent.

His flamer squad comes in the top left part of the board.

Mephiston and The Sanginor are on the other side of the hill at the other edge of the board.




Eldar 3

Wraithlords move up to assault the BA Squad in the middle.
Seer Council goes to take on the Blood Angels Left.
Fire Dragons get on top of the hill, and the other fire dragon serpent moves to the left and unloads 5 fire dragons to blast the 3rd squad. My Wave Serpent Immobolizes itself.

Wraithlords shoot into the BA Squad, and kill the PF Sarg. They then Assault in and Kill the Marine squad.
Seer Council shoots into the BA squad, and then assaults. 3 Are left and they stick.
Fire Dragons blast the BA squad to my right with 10 meltas, and 6 models die.

Karandras isnt needed to pick off the 18 marines, so he Turbo's mid field to go after the combat squads / preds.







My opponent made a huge mistake, and I have no idea what he was doing. He put 18 models against my entire army, and in return I whiped all 18 models. He managed to destroy a wave serpent, but all 3 of his Sang Priests are dead or going to die meaning his army doesnt have FNP. He is also out of meltas and powerfists. He should have kept his army together, and used his HQ's to finish me off, but instead he divided up his army and lost 18 models and probably the game (Theme of this report : dont split up your army, ever).

BA 3

He moves Mephiston and the Sang up right next to my wave serpent with Karandras inside.

His Assault marines shuffle around. There is one to the far left, one on the centerish and one far right.

His preds shoot into Karnadras's wave serpent, and manage to destroy it.
Karandras and his scorpions bail out to the far right of the foot print.

He then declares an assault with the Sanginor and Mephiston against Karandras. Oh

Mephiston Makes it, but the Sanginior fails his charge roll.

Mephiston puts his attacks into Karandras. He gets 5 attacks that can re-roll to hit and need 2's. This doesnt look good for Big K. He rolls well to hit, getting 4, and then he rolls 2 1's leaving Karandras alive! He then wants to activate his force weapon, passes his psychic test, and says he instant kills Karandras. I gak bricks for a couple seconds because if I loose Karandras and Mephiston doesnt die Im moderatly screwed, I have no way to threaten his preds, and his 2 IC's will role into my army and clober it until the seer council can get out and deal with them.

I then ask if Force Weapons negate eternal warrior, he says it doesnt, so Karandras is still alive with 1 wound!!!!!!!!

Karandras and my Exarch double team mephiston, and punch him with their powerfists until he dies! Eldar Pride YEAAAAAA!!@#!@#!@#!@#!@#!@#!@ SUCK IT AN ELDAR HQ JUSTKILLED MEPHISTON IN CLOSE COMBAT BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.



I consolidate the scorprion squad towards the preds.

Seer council battles with the 3 Assault marines, and the combat goes down.

Eldar 4

Fire Dragons shoot into a squad of 5 assault marines in cover, the assault marines loose 2.
Wraithlords move north west towards the 8 assault marines in that corner threatening the objective.
Karandras and the Scorpions assault into the Blood Angels tank, apparently they moved the previous turn, so due to poor rolling and armor pens on rear armor nothing happens to either pred.



Right now the only thing ive lost is a wraithlord and 3 wave serpents, my opponent has lost about 20 assault marines and Mephiston. He has 3x5 assault marines left, with 8 up in the corner, and the sanginor.

Seer council finally whipes the Sang Priest and the assault squad and consolidate north!





BA 4

The Sanginor and an assault marine assault into my Scorpions. Karandras falls to the sanginior, but my Exarch enrages for the 2nd time this tournament and slays 3 Blood Angels. (Take a note on how many times my exarch rages after Karandras dies each game). I lower the assault marine squad to 1 after all my attacks. I dont get whiped this turn, but eventually I loose this combat and they consolidate on a middle objective.



Eldar 5

I cast fortune.

I blast the squad in the trees with Meltas and 3 of them die. I move jetbikes on to take the middle objective in the trees.
I move other jetbikes to capture the objective to the right.
I move a DAVU Serpent / Wraithlords / Seer council to take/hold the left objective.

The middle north objective will be his. The top right objective will be his as well, meaning that if the game ends this turn Ill either with 3-2 or tie 2-2.
I have magority kill points of his army (I believe). He has 11 total, which means I have 6. Ive killed 3 Sang priests, Meph, squad in the middle so 5. So actually im a kill point away from getting magority of his army, which we will also tie on.
I will win Table Quarters tho, with 3-1 only giving him the top right.





BA 5

He moves a predator 18" to contest the middle objective.
The sanginor and the assault marine stay tight.
His left squad either moves to contest, or doesnt I dont remember.

I believe his assault marines on the right jump over, assault my bikes and whipe them.

If the game ends here we tie on kill points, I win table quarters, and I loose objectives 2-1 meaning I would get a score of 15.

We Roll the dice and the game doesnt end.

Eldar 6

10 Fire Dragons blast the assault marines on the right objective giving me kill point objective.
My Wraithlords and Seer council shoot and assault the assault marines on the top left, whiping them and giving me that objective.
I shoot the last marine on the back objective, and he dies.
My Jetbikes move and take the right objective, dire avengers take the left objective.



BA 6

He assaults the sanginior into the left objective with my seer council.

He moves one predator towards the bottom right, one stays in the middle.

If the game ends here I have table quarters, Kill Points, but we tie on objectives giving me 25 points.

WE roll and the game continues

Eldar 7

The sanginior combat draws for the rest of the game.

DAVU Serpent moves on the middle objective in the trees.
Jetbikes Turbo boost 24" to the back right objective.
Fire Dragons whipe both Preds off the board.

My Opponent only has the sanginior left, while I have only last a wraithlord, 3 wave serpents, Karnadras and his scorps and a squad of jetbikes, meaning I have 70% of my army left.





Eldar victory 30-0

Game 3 Summary

Welp this was the first time my girlfriend watched me play warhammer. I think this was also the first time where she heard me curse in a large amount. Oh well, atleast I won and protected my honor!

My opponent had a great army list. If used correctly, I see this list doing really well. I really liked his list and If I ever played BA I would play a similiar list with some furiosos instead of a sang priest and more powerfists or blood talos somehow.

My Opponent did some good things, and he did some bad things. Towards the beginning of the game he made alot of HUGE mistakes. He put 18 models to deal with my entire 2000 point army. It was so easy for me to kill off 18 marines that I didnt even use my phoenix lord, and sent him upfield while the rest of my army dealt with it. I did a great job turbo boosting before his army came in, this mitigated alot of damage. His predator placement was good, but splitting up his army was just a horrible idea. Mephiston and the sanginor didnt really do a whole lot, and 20 of his assault marines stood still while 18 of their brotheren got smacked.

What my opponent did well, was his turn 5 movements that would have tied the game. I didnt expect his assault marines to move and assault my jetbikes, I thought they would stay on the back objective instead of moving forward, I thought my fire dragons would have detered him from doing that. I also should have focus fired the lone marine on the back objective. I forgot the sanginior doesnt have IC, so they werent attached. I assumed they were attached and didnt shoot at him at all. His turn 5 movements to tie the game were great, but luckily the game continued, and allowed me to win 30-0.

Overall I thought my tactics were decent. I dont see any real mistakes I made besides turbo boosting Karnadras and his squad to mid field to do some damage (good thing they punched mephiston to death).

My Opponent was a great guy, he had a really nicely painted army, and I would gladly play him again.

The thing with the GK's is that they are good in both shooting and assault. It's their flexibility which makes them somewhat hard to play against. If you sit there, they'll be happy to trade shots with you (they'll probably win that one). And although you probably have better assault than your opponent's GK's, if you can't take out their transports, you'd be fighting from behind the whole game.

WargamesCon game 4 vs. Real Life

When I came to WarGamesCon I assumed the tournament would end before 7 o'clock, unfortunantly the tournament went on till 9pm that night.

My Girlfriend was with me, and was staying with some good friends and we had plans to go out.

If I win 30 points my next game, I will go into the upper bracket, but even if I go into the upper bracket Ill be behind 10-15 points, and I probably wont win unless I go 90/90 day to. The chance of me going 120/120 is pretty low.

So because I want to hang out with friends and my girlfriend (who Ive somewhat neglected all day) I decide to bail on game 4. The BOLS staff let me bail as they have an odd number anyways, and Ill come back Sunday and play in the Rogue Trader Bracket (Day 2 Rogue Trader bracket is made up of all the players who arnt the top 20. The top 20 compete with exisiting battle points, while the rogue trader bracket resets).

Overall I had a really fun night with my friends and girlfriend, was really glad that I left early saturday, because if I hadnt there would be alot of real people mad at me (and that isnt fun at all).

Game 5 Against Dylans Tranids

Well saturday night my girlfriend and some good friends of mine go out and enjoy Austin. We get some great tex-mex food. I spend about an hour explaining to my girlfriend what Tex-Mex Is. No its not a resturant, no its not a certain dish, yes everything on the menu is Tex Mex. It was a long conversation but we pulled through. Alot of fun.

I wake up Sunday morning and my eyes hurt, FML I hate playing warhammer before 1 in the afternoon.

I somehow get dressed, and make it back to the Hotel where the convention is. I set up my army, and round 1 Parings go out.

My Goal today is to go 90/90 and win the Rogue tournament, I know that its well within my skill set to win the lower division, I just pray that the luck and fortitude that are needed are with me. With 120 people in the bracket chances are that some one will go 90/90 , so you will need 90/90 to win.

I get paired up against Dylans Tyranids, Hes from Oklahoma and one of the nicest guys I played against. Before the game Dylan tells me some of his horror stories of previous games. I felt kind of bad at how his previous opponents had treated him, some of the things were just plain silly, so I vowed to make this a good game for him, and to try my best not to be a total doosh (although Im going for 90/90 battle points and am currently on a 90% win streak).

Tranid Deployment

My opponent Wins the Roll off to go first and elects to deploy.
Malantai is DSing and Genestealers are outflanking.

He puts his C&C objective in the back left corner ish.
Both Tervigons deploy back in cover.
Termagaunts around them, Hive Tyrant is in the center.
Biovores in back.
Hive Guard in front on each side of the HQ squad.



Eldar Pre Game

Victory points is just me doing damage, no strategy involved.
C&C Requires me to put skimmers in his deployment zone, that isnt hard.
Objectives will require me to watch out for the outflanking genestealers, and moving my jetbikes accordinly.

My Opponent has a pretty bad Tyranid list (IMO, some good tyranid player can yell at me if Im wrong).
Biovores wont do anything.
HiveGuard are my biggest worry, but with Warding they wont get FNP and I should be able to wear them down with dragons / firepower or even assault them

The Biggest worry of mine is the Tyrant unit. With FNP that can be a horrid unit, and lash whips dont help. The only way I can really kill it is with Fire Dragons / A really good multi assault with multiple things. This unit scares me.

His Doom of Malantai is interesting, the 3d6 Leadership is luck. If I roll low Ill be fine, If I roll High I could use ALOT of units. Karandras should be in cover if it comes down tho so thats fine, seer council has a 4++ and embolden so I doubt its going to hurt me. My Wraithlords could have some problems. The good thing tho is Malantai is always str4, so you can just Bang him out with powerfists and he looses all his wounds and dies, so If he pops down ill just assault him and punch him to death.

Besides that the Tyranid army isnt bad. I just need to get assaults off and I should be fine.

Eldar Deployment

I put my C&C Objective as far away from the short board edges as I can.

Bikes reserve.
Wraithlords make a wall at the start of the SpearHead Mark, hopefully I can use the trees to make his assault slow.
Karandras serpent goes central, while fire dragon serpents are put on each side of the building.

Seer council goes behind wraithlords.

The tyranid player has 12 str8 shots comming at me, he will probably be in range, and he will probably kill 1-2 serpents with shots unless Im out of range which I might be. IF he does it doesnt matter, I move the fire dragons up 6" and ill be able to melta them anyways.




Objectives

One is in the center of the board on top of the building.
One is on the top right.
One is bottom left.
His C&C is in the trees to the top left.
MY C&C Is my board edge middle.

Initiative

I roll to Steal the Initiative and I roll a , stealing the initiative for the 2nd time this tournament rofl.

Eldar 1

Fortune goes off, Fire Dragons turbo boost Forward.

Wraithlord move up, Seer council moves left 12".

Karandras's serpent moves up 12" as well.

I shoot Wraithlords into hive guard and kill 2 models leaving 1.

Tyranid 1

My Opponent poops out gaunts. getting 2 more units on the field (wow thats annoying rofl).

He moves his entire army up, and gives his CC deathstar FNP.

He shoots into my North Fire Dragon Serpent, and destroys it. Fire Dragons get out and pass pinning.



Eldar 2

Karandras moves up 12" more and leaves his back end to get an assault next turn. Im hoping that my Fire Dragons can bait his Tyrant Towards me to get an assault my WraithLords, Jetbikes, and Karandras.

I move south Fire Dragons up and Blast his Hive Tyrants unit, causing 4 wounds and knocking out a couple models and putting a wound on the Tyrant.
Fire Dragons that Bailed out shoot at the squad of 3 Hive guard, killing 2 more Bases.

Wraithlords shoot into the Tyrant unit, knocking the Tyrant down to 2 wounds, and leaving 1 guard.

My Jetbikes come in and turbo boost.

Seer council Assault moves Forward, but out of assault range of his army.




Tranids 2

He Rolls reserves and gets 1 unit of genestealers that comes in on the hill to the far left.

He poops out gaunts, but both of them roll doubles so he stops rolling for that now as he has spawned 4 units. (he might poop out another squad, but eventually he stopped).

He shoots into my 5 Fire Dragons on top and they all die.
He Casts Feel No Pain on his Tyrant unit but I runes of warding it and it doent go off.

He Assaults into my Fire Dragons with the Tyrant whiping them.



Eldar 3

Karandras and his squad gets out and I move an inch away from his Hive Tyrant.

MY Jetbikes cast Fortune, and I move them to multi Assault Gaunts and his Tyrant.

Wraithlords shoot into his remainig Hive Guard, they pass alot of saves and neither of them die.

I assault into the Hive Tyrant. He puts his attacks in the striking scorpions and I loose 3 of them.

My Fire Dragon Serpent Tank Shocks into his Gaunts going 13".

I then put around 3 Warlocks into the Tyrants unit who arnt in b2b so strike at ini5 and he fails armor saves and the unit is whiped(wow that wasnt hard at all).

Karandras consolidates towards cover, my Warlocks consolidate into the Termagaunts.

I then put attacks into the termagaunts, I kill a few and they kill like 2 of my warlocks with a crapload of attacks and we lock.



Tyranids 3

Doom of Malantai Comes down right next to the trees on my left.
Other unit of Genestealers comes in my right side of the board, playing the far objective.

He shoots a crapload of shots into Karandras's unit with Gaunts, and I manage to pass like 12/12 armor saves and the unit holds strong.

We do the Gaunt Combat and he looses by like 5 so all his 3 gaunt unit take fearless saves and he looses ALOT of gaunts.

I roll Leadership for my seer council and a wraithlord who are within 6" of doom. A wraithlord takes a wound, and my seer council is fine.

Eldar 4

Dylan and I have both been playing pretty slow. We hear theres only 30 minutes left. I ask Dylan if he wants to call this the final round, or go onto round 5. He says that he wants this to be the Final Round, and I say thats fine.

I Tank Shock my Fire Dragon Serpent 7" onto his objective.
I turbo boost Karndras's Serpent to the top Right objective his Genestealers are going for.


I leave the middle objective open because I thought it was a center board marker, and I was tired so I didnt realize it was an objective rofl.

Jetbikes Take my C&C objective.
Jetbikes and Davu take my left non C&C Objective.

Karandras and 2 WraithLords move to assault Doom of Malantai.

My Other Wraithlord shoots and finishes off the Last Hive Guard of a unit with 1 wound left.

My Seer Council Wins combat like 7, and 20 something gaunts get pulled from the table. I think I win and consolidate towards his objective.

Apparently Doom of Malantai's attack works during my shooting phase (I wasnt aware of this, and Im still not sure its true). I roll for Karandras's unit, and 2 wraithlords. First Wraithlord fails, and dies. 2nd Wraithlords fails by like 7 and Also dies. WHAT THE @#$@#$@#$ RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE RAGE. Karandras's unit rolls and for the love of God I pass my leadership 10.

Karandras Assaults into Doom, I punch the bug like 6 times in its fat face and it blows up in a huge volcano of blood and guts, (lol he had 10 wounds left GG Str8). Karandras Consolidates into Cover. Karandras is such a beast I using him in my army.




Tyranids 4

He Assaults a Tervigon into my wave serpent, and he doesnt roll any 6's so I stay on his C&C Objective.
His Left Genestealers derp and dont move very far and cant get to my objective.
His Gaunts move through cover and run to control the middle objective that I didnt think existed.
His Genestealers assault my Wave Serpent. He rolls like 6 's , Gets 1 Pen, and Rolls a 6 to Blow it up (yea ok rofl).







The Game Ends here.

Capture and Control - Eldar Win 1-0
Victory Points - Eldar have killed 900 Victory Points, Nids have killed around 400, Eldar win by a wide margin.
Seize Ground - I have 1, He has the middle and the top right. Eldar Loss 2-1.

Overall Eldar Victory 20-10.

Game 4 Summary

Dylan was a great guy, fun to play against him and his retro models. (old tyranid models look cool).

Stealing the initiative hurt him a little, but didnt do a whole lot. It probably would of been better if I hadnt stolen the initiative, but whatever thats life.

I focus'd his Hive Guard, and then I compleatly Brutalized his Tyrant unit. My Seer council Banged out like 40-50 Gaunts, and Karandras smacked Doom of Malantai in the face.

If my Wave Serpent hadnt died I would have won 25-5 , but it did die so whatever thats life.

Using my Fire Dragons to bait the Tyrant in Charge range was great. I was really surprised with how easily the Tyrant went down, but without feel no pain thats what happens.

Pretty easy game, only had 4 rounds to fight with him or It would of been worse for him.

I dont think I did anything great, or any huge mistakes. I put my units where they needed to go, and I killed some bugs.

Off to round 2 with 20/30 battle points.

Brad's Paint score being zero was due to game 4, which dropped Brad from the tournament. If it makes any difference, his pre-drop score was 27, a very good score. Also Sportsmanship, which is not cumulative with any other score, was changed to 0-2-3, and Brad only has sports scores for games 5-7, meaning he had perfect sportsmanship scores for those 3 games.

Game 6 vs. Mark's Vanilla Marines

Tyranid game took the entire game length and we only got to turn 4. At this point im really looking forward to the end of the tournament, as all my stamina is gone. Im moderatly exhaused, and 7 game GT's are way to many games IMO. If you can make it through a 7 game GT and keep your cool, thats a great achievment within itself.

I get paired up round 2 against Mark's Vanilla Marines. (im citing his list from memory)

Libby - Nullzone and the str10 blast. Terminator armor and SS

5x TH/SS Terminators
Landraider with double lascannons

9x Sternguard.
4x combi plasmas 1x combi melta

10x Tacticals with Missile Melta, Rhino
10x Tacticals with Missile Melta, Rhino
10x Tacticals with flamer melta.

5x Scouts with CCW

Storm Talon with Assault cannon and str7 heavy3 Launcher

Double Lascannon Predator

Deployment: DoW
Mission:
Assassination : Pick an enemy HQ and kill it.
C&C - 2 Capture and Control objectives, these are the objectives on the left part of your deployment zone, 12 and 18" away frome edge.
Seize Ground(5) - Objective in middle, and 2 objectives to the right of the C&C Objectives , the C&C Objectives count for both objectives.

Eldar win the Roll off and elect to go first.

I elect to bring all my forces on turn 1 with jetbikes in reserve.

Mark Combat Squads 2 squads in trees to the top part of the Board. He reserves a tac squad, and the stormtalon and scouts outflank together.

His Libby is my kill target.
My Farseer is his.

Eldar 1

Seer council turbo boosts onto the board, but stays pretty far away to avoid a hood from his libby next turn.

Karandras turbo boosts 24" towards the tacticals in the trees, with its exit ramp somewhat facing the missile launchers, but not enough for rear shots.
Fire Dragons turbo boost up to each side of the building to get a turn 2 slag on whatever comes in.

DAVU Serpent stays to my left to take my C&C Objective. Wraithlords come in left, making a wall in front of my C&C Objective (they will stall any advance to my C&C objective while Farseer and Karandras smack his.




Space Marines 1

Landraider and 2 rhinos come in right with the predator as well.
The Stearnguard land right next to my wave serpent, but he doesnt put it to get rear shots.

Landraider, Predator, 2 Missiles from tac squads, 4 Plasma Guns rapid fire and 1 melta gun. I roll decent for cover saves, and finally all the shots bring down Karandras's serpent and the squad piles out. (That is mathmatically acceptable so I dont care).

Eldar 2

If you have read my battle report for this entire time, please predict my move before you actually read it. It should be very clear at this point which units are going where and doing what. At this point Ive won the game, he cant do anything about it and im going to table him and get max battle points.

Fire Dragons move up 12" to slag the Land Raider.
Wraithlords move Forward.
Seer council Fortunes and moves 12" to be in range of the stearnguard.
Karandras moves forward with his squad.

Seer council shoots and assaults the Stearnguard, And the end of the phase there all dead and I consolidate an inch away from the drop pod (as its on an objective).
Karandras moves and assaults a tac squad. I couldnt multi assault both of them because I might fail my cover check, all 5 marines die to the phoenix lord and his aspect brotheren.
Fire Dragons blow up the land raider, and the terminators pile out. I think 2 Terminators die to the expliosion (rofl).

Other Fire Dragons turbo over but stay in their ride.

Well my opponent just lost like 500 points, and has 3 squads off the table, and his HQ is in the open next to 10 fire dragons a phoenix lord and a move away seer council, not looking good.







Space Marines 2

Other 2 Tac Squads in Rhinos move 12" left and pop smoke.
His Libby casts the str10 power on Karandras's Squad, but perils, and the blast goes off on the terminators, but they pass their 3+ invuls. Libby takes a wound to perils.

His Terminators charge into Karandras's Unit. The terminaor in B2B with Karandras rolls 3 4's and 3 2's and kills the phoenix lord. Karandras responds by killing 2 in return, and the Exarch rages over his lost phoenix lord and goes on a rampage the rest of the game (this is hilarious he does this every time Karandras dies).

Eldar 3

I kill the drop pod in Close Combat with the seer council.
I exchage blows with the Libby and the Terminator and the Exarch and his Squad lower them and eventually wins combat by turn 4.

Both my Fire Dragons get back in their transports, in case the Libby and the terminator break combat I want to melta them next turn to get that primary.




Space Marine 3

Nothing happens.

Eldar 4

Wraithlords are shooting at the Rhinos and Guys that are moving to my left (2 squads of 5 tacticals). I eventually blow up a rhino, and I kill 4 of the guys inside with fire. The Sarg makes a run for the middle objective, and is eventually killed by the seer council.

Fire Dragons Slag the Predator.

My exarch whipes the Libby and Last Terminator (rofl) and Consolidates towards his side of the board.

My Seer Council moves 12" and assault moves 6" towards his side of the board.



Space Marine 4 - End of the Game

Marks StormTalon and Scouts eventually come in to my left. I shoot the scouts off the board with Wraithlords and dire avengers that are on foot as their tank goes to contest top left objective.
I then assault the storm talon with a wraithlord and it falls out of the sky.

The Sarg going for the middle objective is killed by my seer council.
His last Tactical squad comes in off the board edge and charges my Exarch, who kills 5 of them before my seer council comes and whipes them.

My 10 Fire Dragons kill the 5 Tacticals that were left in Cover.





At the end of the game my opponent has a rhino with 5 Tacticals on the top left objective that Im contesting. We call the game here.

Kill Target : Eldar Win.
C&C OBJ : Eldar Win 1-0.
Objectives: Eldar Win 3-0.

Eldar Win 30-0.

Game 6 Summary

Lists like these really make me wish that I played my Eldar when 5th edition and the new Eldar Codex came out. Back then there was nothing, and OMG I would have done so well if I had used my dex when it actually first came out.

Mark's list wasnt very good, and his playstyle was somewhat off as well. He had a tactical squad, scouts, and a stormtalon out of most of the game. Landraiders are just lolz to fire dragons. One of the biggest mistakes mark made was going after Karandras's serpent with the Stearnguard instead of going after the Non-Fortuned Bikes, he probably could of killed 3-4 if he had gone after them (although they had their 3+ cover). This is another example of a player dividing up his army, when players divide their armies it makes it really easy for me to come in and just kill them.

Really easy game, Fire Dragons went to the Pred/LandRAider and my squads just whiped his in close combat with better weapons.

Off to round 7 with 50/60 battle points. IF I get 30/30 the next game theres a chance I can win the Rogue Trader Bracket!

For the record, I don't think the Seer Council is a lower-tier unit. Like wraiths, they are a very good (though expensive) unit as long as you understand their strengths and limitations.

I have a question about the dark eldar army that is in the pictures. There were some orange templates that looked like the footprint of a reaver.what are these templates used for/is there something they are particularly nifty at doing?also where can I buy these if they are cool(like an online retailer or something I live near Houston). I have been playing for a little bit mostly modeling and painting and would like to start going to tournaments soon.

I don't remember the company that does those markers I think it is like green gaming or something like that. Another way to do it is to trace you vehicle over some felt or plastic and cut it out.

There were some orange templates that looked like the footprint of a reaver.what are these templates used for/is there something they are particularly nifty at doing?also where can I buy these if they are cool(like an online retailer or something I live near Houston). I have been playing for a little bit mostly modeling and painting and would like to start going to tournaments soon.


there used to show the vehicle footprint after it blows up. IMO go to the store, by some fabric, and use scissors s to cut out footprints and save lots of money.

I have a problem with the IG list in your final game, special weapon squads can only take three weapons I'm pretty sure, so either its a typo that he has 4 meltas (which, seeing as he got to the final table, I'm going to assume is the case) or everyone missed it.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
