Hey guys and gals I wanted to know about fluff. What I mean is, is the fluff from older codex's dragged into the newer books? Thanks for Help

It's sometimes repeated, but not always. Unless something specifically invalidates the old fluff or the fluff's from Rogue Trader, it tends to still be valid. For instance, Lysander's old fluff was about how his captain teleported into a rock and gave Lysander his hammer. His new fluff is about getting captured by Iron Warriors and beating them to death with his bare hands then stealing one of their ships and flying away in it. There's nothing in there that invalidates the old fluff at all, so one can assume it's still canon.

Oh well that helps but what I wanted to know is do I have to buy the older codex's to get older fluff or does that old fluff get put in the new books. If you stated that in your post I'm sorry for being stupid and not seeing it.

He did. Fluff from old codices isn't always in the new codex. So if you want all of the available fluff for an army, you'll want all of the old books.

Unless something it outright contradicted by a new codex, the fluff stands, even if its not actually in the new book.

Wait into an ork ship or into a boulder? All I can imagine now is a yellow gauntlet sticking out of the top of a rock, gripping a Thunderhammer like the Sword in the Stone. Lysander was the only one strong enough to rip it out of his cold, dead hands.

Or was his entire upper half sticking out of the rock? He gave Lysander his hammer and a corny pep-talk before finally expiring, head slumping slightly in his armor.

It was the second one.

..I'd prefer it to be the first, for some reason I find it morbidly hilarious.

The de facto rule with old fluff is it's still true until it's contradicted in newer fluff.
