Use thunderhawks? besides the obvious of they arent in the codex, is there a fluffy reason?

Uh, they can? In fact, Imperial Armour 11 has them with quite a few alongside of Drop pods.

Nothing ever says SW can't use thunderhawks...
As in litterally nothing...

Forgeworld used to sell a chapter specific version of the Space Wolves thunderhawk, but it's been pulled down for some reason (along with all the other Chapter Specific bundles).

They're not included as a usable option in the codex for the same reason they're not available in any other Marine Chapter's codex. No model and (depending on where they go with Flyer rules in the future) potentially too big for regular games anyway.

In fact, Thunderhawks are the only way Space Wolves would ever want to land on a planet. They deeply mistrust teleporting technology and dislike drop pods. Without using the Thunderhawks the Wolves would never leave Fenris.

I may have misposted my question, in a regular GW only game can the wolves use thunderhawks, i know fluff wise its the transport of choice.

The same reason nobody else can use thunderhawks in normal games.

They love drop pods. They hate teleporting.

Nobody can use Thunderhawks in regular games. They cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 750 points, have multiple structure points, and can fly. They're considered superheavy units, only to be used in Apocalypse sized games, one specific Battle Mission, or some kind of special scenario that's up to gamers to make up.

STORMRAVENS!!!! thats what i was looking for not thunderhawks.......sigh simetimes i feel like an idiot.

Storm Ravens are rare tech. Only forces with ties to the AdMech, or those who become renowned for their mobile tactics get access to them. The only ones I know of are Storm Lords, Grey Knights, and Blood Angels.

Storm Ravens didn't exist when the wolf codex was made.

The Blood Angels dont have close ties with the AdMech, quite the opposite. The Storm Lords dont have special ties to the AdMech either.

With the new Codex Space Marines and the Codex Dark Angels we will find them available for almost everyone I guess.

Excuse me, I was mistaken. The Storm Wardens employ Stormravens. Scipio, the Blood Angels are the premier fast attack specialists. If you read my entire post you'll see that's consistent.

The supposition as to why the Blood Angels have Stormravens is that they discovered the STC, or were offered them as a "trade" for the Baal Predator STC.

Whether or not we'll see anything come of that is in the air.
