Subject: Anyone have any trouble with Army Painter and/or Alliance Game Distribution?

So I ordered some yellow primer three weeks ago from Army Painter. Being in the states, I guess they use Alliance Game Distribution[AGD] to do their shipping (otherwise it would come from Denmark). I was at work when my mother-in-law called me to tell me I have a package waiting for me. I came home to open it, excited that I would finally get to start painting my new Imperial Fist army, only to find my order of two cans of yellow primer turned into three cans of brown primer and dark shade. Well I had to wait until the next day to get an email back from Army Painter, which gave me the number to call for AGD customer service. After some back and forth (their records showed they shipped me the correct order) I got them to agree to a return. A week later(today) I get my second package and this time it is two red primers and some flock.
Anyone else have any trouble with these companies? I know it may not be Army Builder's fault and more likely the AGD company's fault. They could not even spell my name right after it was correct three times and my name is very English.

Not with them, but a few years ago i bought some gear off of Milsims. They had 2 deals going, both tho excise some leftover Battletech books after the fasa closure. I wanted Bundle number 1 (Mechwarrior 3rd Rulebook + Mechwarriors guide to the clans for 15 dollars) and they sent me bundle number 2 (Mechwarrior companion, royalty and rogues and star league for 15 bucks) I called, they said they understood, they told me to keep the books i had and they would send the correct ones out to me.
So my second package arrived, and guess what, it was bundle number 2 again, with mechwarriors guide to the clans thrown in.
I called up and they admitted that they were out of stock on Bundle number 1. They told me to just keep all the books for my trouble. Really good blokes but there seemed to be a loose connection between customer service, despatch and the web store in those days.

I know two LGSs that use Alliance Distribution almost exclusively (Gamer's Armory and All Fun & Games in NC and I look at Alliance's Catalogue extensively. I've ordered specific colors of Vallejo Paints, Army Painter Sprays, Infinity minis, Malifaux Minis, and even a board game. It was delivered to my LGS in less than a week with no errors. Never a problem with Alliance games.
As for Army Painter, the only time I've ever run into a problem with their distribution was then I ordered a can of spray from a LGS nearby. Two weeks later, my request still hadn't come in so I inquired about it in-person. The storeowners had forgotten to place my request into their order queue and outright lied to me that they have backstock. I cancelled my order, went back to my favorite LGS, and then the Army Painter spray was here in four days.
The fault was of the game store that failed to take up my order (I'll leave out the store's name) and lied to me when they forgot. Again, Alliance and Army Painter are fine.
Unsure if that'll help, but as a customer interacting with B&M store, Alliance and Army Painter have been great to me.

That's a sort of strange relationship, having Alliance ship their orders, but does make sense why I first met the guys at a barbeque held by an Alliance VP.)
I order the bulk of my non GW games from them. They've had some warehouse problems lately, mostly from an influx of new hires. Call back customer service, and go through the process again. Insist that the order be double checked by a supervisor before it goes out. You could also email Army Painter, and detail the problem and ask them to check on your order.
If you're in the states, it might just be better in the future to order their stuff through Neil over at Warstore. I know he carries it. It's really great stuff. I sell a ton of it at my shops.

I made an order with Army Painter a few weeks ago and had it all turn up, exactly as ordered, in 3 days. That is in the UK rather than US though. Sounds to me like it's probably an issue with their distributer.

That may be the problem. I was nice about it to both parties (I emailed Army Painter, Bo said he would personally look into the matter.) It is just rather annoying not to be able to prime my minis. If I had had it the first time I would be painting my new Imperial Fist, but since then its dropped to freezing temperatures so I don't want to take that chance.
Ah well, I will probably be doing business through the Warstore from now on, as I always have good luck with Neil.

Back when i owned a store I regularly had issues with Alliance. One man's experience, so take from it what you like, or nothing at all...
