Hi, I was just wondering if you guys could give me a hand locating decent / decent moderately priced / cheap decent location to buy a set of brushes from.
I'm currently looking for some Windsor and Newton series 7's 000,00,0,1 sizes but no were locally sells them and I'm trying to find a good EU/UK based retailer(s) or E-shop to buy some from at a decent price, any helpers? xD

I got mine from Amazon - they were the same/cheaper than any online art supply shops I could find.

Great art or ken bromley's normally gives you the better deals if you don't include shipping when you do it normally depends on the amount of stuff you want to order or the voucher in hand

I'd recommend Rosemary & Co. Their Kalinsky sable line is quite excellent. Not quite the equal of series 7, but for a third to half the price, they're solid.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

Second Rosemary & Co. If you ever use a better brush, you won't notice it.

Yeah I got them from here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Winsor-Newton-Series-Kolinsky-Colour/dp/B0013E68T4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1333817458&sr=8-2 I was suprised as I've seen some way more expensive. 33 pound for 4 brushes is still expensive when compared to GW and the likes but I've already begun benefiting from the higher quality of brush, the ability to hold a proper tip on a 000 or 00 size is really really nice.

If theres a Hobbycraft store near you, they usually carry Series 7 brushes in. Been a long time since I brush painted but that was where I got my series 7 bruses from.

There really is no comparison between the two (tho GW's brushes arnt bad imo), the series 7s last for so much longer if they are cared for. I have a couple that are 3 years old now.
Id still like to see GW selling their master series brushes individually in stores, they are meant to be roughly equal quality to series 7s. They are over priced, but for people that arnt online a lot and dont know about other brushes they could really benefit from a decent detail brush.

I'll third this - series 33 and 323 for me, though I understand Rosemary is looking at doing some brushes specifically designed for painting miniatures soon.
As it stands, at less than £4 per brush (plus postage, IIRC) for pure Kolinsky sable, you really can't go wrong.

Could anyone comment on the Kolinsky Sable brushes that Wayland Games sells? They seem very reasonably priced:

Email them and ask them for a picture of the text along the side of the brush (or the text itself if they want to type it out).
