He has a very leery face and massive buck teeth, its a scary looking combo. If I saw him hanging out at the bus station I would probably go get the train instead

Thanks for the praise on the inquisitor - I think he is another step towards realism.

This is probably my favorite p&m-blog of them all! It's so much fun seeing all these awesome old RT-era minis and what not brought to life with more modern painting techniques! So I'm glad to hear you are somewhat back on track!

Great job on the inquisitor and the space pirate btw!

Thanks c0un7_z3r0 I'm flattered. Plenty more left to paint if I ever get around to it.

Thanks sneakychris - you look new, welcome to dakka and my blog!

Cheers PDH I am pleased with the colour too - Subtle use of colour is what makes me love miniature painting. I just love the deep red shadows in the yellow, I suppose he is meant to be an ochre colour, always a good colour for an ancient suit of power armour. And the power axe fade is becoming a favorite of mine. I will get a full rainbow on a power weapon one of these days.

Unfortunatly my new camera has died - I think its battery died and now it won't turn back on even though plugged it into the charger for hours. So its back to the old standby and you may notice some loss of image quality.

I've been making bases out of GS and sand which are going to be for the hasslefree minis - kind of an urban thing with kerbstones and asphalt.

Also finished a delaque jumping over a pipe. definitely don't lake the way my old camera has taken this one - looks odd.

Bases are good. Simple but effective.

and the delaque looks good. Face is very good and that's a very PURPLE purple coat he has (in a good way).

Great update, Weety!

I really like the bases and the ganger. The curbstones are probably the best part of the topmost bases. They have a good thickness and the slightly variable heights and edges make them look more interesting. They kind of remind me of some of the curbs that I saw in Iraq, where uniformity was a rarity.

The ganger is a lot of fun to look at. His skin tones, goggles, and grimace are especially appealing. I like the purple coat though it makes me think of the phrase, "See the violets inherent in the system!". Odd, but that's me.

He has a nice base too. Did you make that one as well?

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

Nice bases! Very universal-looking too! The Delaque looks great, maybe your old camera is more light sensitive? Try backing the lamp up some? His forehead glares like my 5th grade English teacher's did

Time for a massive update. Here we see another mercenary (v wonky model), I had some fun with the floor tiles on this one.

A genestealer hybrid - looking good on this one - It looks dark and shadowy and the blending is smooth...

Also these berserkers got some base love.

Here is Alyx from hasslefree miniatures. A bit of a showcase model. The thing I love about hasslefree is the cool poses and the way the model looks legit from all angles

Wow, loads of pretties...
The Girl looks amazing. Really well done on everything there. The bear looks really beat up, good job.
and it looks nice on your base.

and nice tiles on the wonky bloke's base.

The Hybrid looks great. How'd do the skin tone for him?

Really nice paint job on the Bezerkers.

Thanks guys. I can recommend hasslefree.

I can't remember who makes this mini.

I've gone for a desert and scrub type scheme and I really wish I had an apropriate backdrop - this will have to do for now.

The lizard colours are something I saw in a book of dinosaurs.

I just thought you'd left them off for ease of painting or in that way that some people do by not putting strings on the bows of archers.

Still looks awesome as is.

What a beautiful mini! Love the pose, and the colours you've chosen for his ride - the spinal markings in particular look very realistic! They really look like they're skulking quietly through scrubland. Ace!

Hi everyone - A quick flying update. I may be taking part in the infinity "two tickets to paradiso" competition. I'm having trouble finding a model though - It has to be under ten british pounds (inc. postage) as I'm on a budget. Preferably a lot under so can afford a jungle base. So many to choose from.

Also I painted an eldar to get me in the mood for smooth armour plates and high technology.

Good luck in the comp', look forward to seeing what you do.

Nice painting on the little eldar chap, That's a really nice gem on the chest, actually looks translucent (wish mine did).
