Hey guys,
I was looking around and pinning Infinity minis seems recommended.
I never pinned any minis before so... what size of drill and pins am I looking for ?
And I suppose these can be bought in any general renovation store ?
Thanks !

I don't have the size but I can say small! You might want to look into drill bits for jewelry. I'd go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Not the Home Depot.

For infinity models you will need a smaller then average pinning tools. I personally use 1/32 musical wire (piano wire) and equivalent sized drill bit. I can never remember the dang size of the drill bits though.

I have wanted to Pin every single one of these guys. But my problem has been not having anything small enough to fit the minis. I might check a craft store eventually. I know someone had mentioned guitar wire (strings) or something tiny, but I'd have to do some research.

0.8mm, most likely.
I use 0.8mm drills and 1/32 brass rod for most stuff, be it Infinity, 40k or Inquisitor. It's sturdy enough for big models, fine enough for small models.

I usually in my Orks using 1mm drill bits and brass rod - but that was a bit big for Infinity! I'm now using 0.8mm drill bits and brass rod...
I had a hard time putting my Veteran Kazak and Highlander Grey Rifle together - the pieces didn't seem to want to fit together well, ruling out pure super glue, and I just knew if I attempted to pin that I'd get it misaligned. I ended up using Green Stuff. We'll see how long that holds up for...

Could be? Certainly looks small enough!
I've just been trusting in Zap a Gap and a bit of LGS. So we'll see how that holds up for my guys.

Check out the Jewelry making sections at the major craft stores first. You can find some pretty good things. I found a lot of great things because of my wife!

You could also try using metal paper clips. Should be easier to get and probably cheaper as well.

The only problem i've found with paper clips is that sometimes the chrome will come off. The clip then will not hold. It might depend on the clip though.

I use 0.81mm brass rods and a ~0.815 drill bit that I attach to a Dremel.
I found everything in the local hobby shops, train stores, and the like.

I've so far gotten away with either Araldite (just a tiny dab), or superglue + green stuff + superglue, or just gel superglue, depending on the size & location of the gaps. I'm trying to avoid pinning, and it seems to be working so far... the Infinity stuff seems light enough not to need it. Plus, you just have to be super-careful in storing & handling the minis anyway -- I'd be bending the wing-bits of my Garuda tacbot way before I broke them off, I think, if I didn't handle or store it right!

Ive been using paper clips to pin mine....which is about as large as you could go. I've accidentally drilled thru the arms and bodies on several of the figures! I tried the tiny drill bits, but found they break quite easily, so I'm sticking with the smallest one I could find in the Drexel drill bit kit.
I also heard Elmer's glue and zap a gap combined together create some kind of a crusty, strong bond. Epoxy resin might also be an option. Definitely sucks trying to glue the arms on with superglue alone.

If the chrome flakes off, then just remove the rest with a file/emery board/sandpaper. Superglue doesn't stick well to chrome anyway.
I use a 0.5 or 0.8mm bit and paperclips for my pinning. Even hands can be pinned this way (well, not the open "jazz hands" hands).

I'm using staples for the smaller miniatures. Very cheap and it does the job very well.

If you're going to go out and buy a drill bit of a specific size, you may as well just buy a $1 pack of brass rods. They're right next to each other in hobby/train stores.

I use the small paperclips from my office to pin infinity stuff - I usually use medium (normal sized) ones for GW stuff but they are way too big for infinity a

I've found that a lot of the infinity stuff doesn't need pinning. Iif you score both sides of the joint with a hobby knife and use super glue, the bond seems to be really strong. I really reccomend gorilla glue super glue as well - it has rubber particles in it to make it impact resistant ( just yesterday I dropped my Shang Ji off my painting table onto my concrete basement floor and nothing happened to the model at all aside from some paint scratches ). If I have to pin I usually use a staple for most things or paper clips for bigger things like tags and such.
