doubleT, I've found this example of what I'd consider an urban Death Korps scheme in the Dakka gallery - though I think the greatcoats will be getting more of a mottled blue/black look.

It's a hard life , but I guess some one has to do it .

So, the Lascannon teams are ready. I just had a little problem with one guy, whom I made to hold a battery pack. But I placed them wrong when putting them on the base so I had to do that team again. But I let the base dry right now and I'll post pics tomorrow.

The chem-tubes and the flesh around them are fantastic. The pale flesh of the mount should hold the necessary muck quite well, too. I don't think I've seen anyone weather a horse before...

They look great the mud effect is spot on really has that ww1 feel to these, like they are sinking slowly into the mud under the wait and wet conditions.

Not quite satisfied with the horse's legs, I guess I'll have to work on that and make it a bit better. For now I think it's ok.

Thanks. I know why it looks a bit "off". The mud has a different contrast on dark cloths and looks better there than on white fur/skin of the horse. :/
I guess I'll try drybrushing it a bit darker on the lower parts of the legs and reeeeeally lightly drybrush on the top of the legs.

Maybe you could try a dark wash on the horse skin?
I think the lightness of it looks our of place, since the only dirt is on the legs, but that's just a suggestion.

I think what looks off, is that you went too high up on the leg, I honestly don't think a horse would get mud upto it's stomach, except for little flicks of mud but not that thick. That's just my opinion, but I must say the way you painted the horse looks awesome!! Especially where the implants/injections are

You know I thought that earlier, maybe lower the mud splatter might help …...

The Commissar on horseback it great, even better that you made him yourself.

If you're not happy with the mud on the horse my suggestion would be make it thicker, clumpier. At the moment it looks a little thin, compared with the mud on the base.

Awesome! For some reason, this model reminds me of War Horse. If you ever get the chance to see it, either the play or the movie (recommend the play), go for it! If you're not satisfied with the mud, maybe make the covered areas darker? Not sure if that helps, but I think it looks excellent.
