Not a specific link, but a trend, what is that rubbery glue people use on metal models before badly priming them for sale?

Had a brood Lord that had joints like rubber, all bendy, I mean it cleans up fine but wtf?

Age of the glue, more than likely.

I bought a bunch of FWs recently, some of them were glued. Looked fine on the photos, when they arrived I had to discard most of the assembled ones as the guy used some sort of epoxy glue in such excess that it melted the plastic parts and those FWs looked like posessed by nurgle.

I saw that. But dat free shipping tho...
You know as I look at this, I'm impressed with the level of detail. No, it's not worth what he's asking (more than an official Stompa!), but I give the guy credit -- he put a fair amount of work into that scratch build. Certainly more than a quick slap-n-glue job. I could see someone might buy it for the right price.

For what it's worth, most recasters are easy to spot.
Most are dumb enough not to make feedback private.

There's currently a guy selling his "collection" of Eldar.
In the past month he had sold 52 revenant titans for £110 each.
All undercoated black, none with instructions or FW bags.

Also alot more FW stuff.

Did wonder on the age of it, had a land speeder with yellow glue that was at least 20 years old, was solid though. this model looked fresh out of a packet, put together then given a very quick blast with black car primer (lots of bare metal showing). Just seemed to be glue to let the model be assembled then 'painted' before a piccy and sold.. Weird, would have actually paid more for unpainted and unassembled as it saves me taking it apart and stripping it.

He turned out fine in the end, they generally do, just seems weird, never seen glue like it.

Sells the package as devestators marked as new, but the Sprue is half empty and from dark angle veterans.
The description says its 'fragments', whatever this means.

That isn't an oddity, they have tons of sales at those prices.

I'd never pay that, personally, but if they're actually selling it is just good business.

However, that previous thread was locked because some of the people posting in it seemed to be forgetting some of the basic tenants of posting on Dakka, primarily that you must always remain polite.

While ebay may have plenty of auctions that feature incredibly crude conversions, blatant forgeries, terrible paint jobs, etc, if you'd like to discuss those things here on Dakka you must do so in a polite fashion, as though the users running and participating in the auctions are reading and responding in this thread (because for all you know, they might be).

So no calling people 'clowns', 'morons', etc, no matter how bizarre the auction may seem. Anyone who ignores this warning will be disciplined exactly as though they were insulting another Dakka user (because they may well be without knowing it).
