Hey all,

which of these two: the World Eaters or the Death Guard are your favourite? And for what reasons?

Fluff reasons or tabletop reasons, either is good. Just want to see what people think of them.

Cheers!

World Eaters more specifically Varren's company in the older fluff, where they could be berserkers but were still more than slaivating butchers

Angry marines or Ugly marines? I'm not fond of either, sorry.

But of these two, it's probably Death Guard; it seems to be more defined and has a greater potential for converting.

I am of the same mindset. Emperor's Children are better.

World eaters. The whole fluff and the gladiator primarch that's got the hulk beat in the muscle and anger department is just a little to awesome XD

In fluff : World Eaters

On the tabletop : Death Guard (currently)

Hopes for the future : To see the World Eaters become the next top tier units of the future Chaos Legion Codex. Damn these guys deserve it. Blood Angels are nothing but imitators of these pros.

Death Guard is one of my favorite. Its a tough army to beat. They are good at shooting and hard to defeat in cc. On the other hand, cc is the only resort where Berzerkers excel. From my experience with 5th edition, cc is the last resort, while mobility and fire power are key.

I love the World Eaters. The character of the loyal World Eaters in the Horus Heresy books is awesome and they are all big red rage machines. The beserker mentality is so much fun.

There is no overkill. Only open fire and reload

I like the world eaters story more. But I think the deathguard color scheme slightly wins out for me.

I have a ton of Berzerkers even with Khorne beast heads and love them to death, but if the Deathguard had cooler looking models (I'm not fond of obese SM's, even the best single CSM of all time -Typhus- doesn't look like a bloated toad) Deahguard would probably be the coolest army in 40k. -in my opinion of course.

I like Deathguard way better, maybe because I just don't like Angron, or because I love the Deathguard models.

I prefer Khorne, not of fan of big fat sweaty guys, if I wanted them I'd go to the gym.

I would have to say World Eaters. If you want a different spin on things (and don't want models with the almost comical bunny-ears) and don't mind painting white, why not consider a Pre-heresy force?

I made a force some years ago. The project has since gone into hibernation (I got sick of playing unpainted GKs and people who are happy just rolling on the mission chart every week for 6 months) but you can see my blog here if you want some ideas:

World Eaters because BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! is all the debate they need. And they are CC orientated. And red. And angry.

Seems pretty evenly divided amongst you all. I'm in the same boat. I love the look of both of them, the resiliency of the Death Guard, and the berserker choppy of the World Eaters.

Wonder who would win in a fight, Kharn or Typhus?

Kharn. Typhus needs his psychic powers to win along with his corrosive smell. BotBG makes Kharn immune and he is as strong as Typhus is tough, and then he is an absolute monster.
