Are the terrain pieces any easier to assemble/disassemble than the old sets?

The road tiles look good. What size are they ?

I think the MA clips and slots are a little looser than the original set. The newest stuff is similar. It's all easy enough once you know the quirks.

The road pieces are on 1' floor tiles so they're 6"*12". Originally they were 24*6" pieces of vinyl floor tile.

Road is looking great. I caught myself getting out of hand with collecting models out of turn. Had to have a very stern talking to myself to get back on the straight and narrow.

What are your thoughts on the HIPS Forge Father's?

Well we've got enough extra costs accruing that my desire for models is pretty severely curbed. And I have too many. So many. Really fun finding new purposes for them via TNT though

It is mostly the lockdown pledge, only two battlezones worth of battlezones... uhh... well whatever they used to call them. Basically each unit was 3 each of two different sprues/sets of bits, and two baggies of accessories. So something like 18 wall tiles and a bunch of extras like half tiles and then the accessories which are pipes and all that junk. I only added on one extra baggie of the conveyor belts/engine/etc. So there's enough for a bunch of scatter and maybe a couple of small buildings, or parts enough to industrialize a fair few other pieces if you spread them out.

So basically it was 10 enforcer pathfinders, 20 veermyn and then loads of extras and faction boosters for most of the other factions. Plague got this big resin/restic abomination who's actually bigger than the first gen and 5 zombies, the rats got a bunch of extra stuff since they were the main faction of the expansion. I should have 20 rat dudes, 5 old rat dudes from the original run, at least 4 big rat dudes--ogre sized or larger, a more feral big rat thing, rat artillery piece, character etc... oh 5 more peacekeepers which is cool because I only ever had 10. Some individual characters, something like one per faction. Oh 4 jetbikes, I added a couple. Basically a smattering of everything, and then 40 extra dwarfs because... I dunno I guess I was still stuck in the 'needz moar armies' frame of mind from so many years ago. Think I'm pretty well broken away from that now.

I have to get the forge fathers out and put a couple of them together, even if I don't know what to do with 50 of them... I still wanna build and paint a few relatively soon. May try to give the contents another go-over this weekend but it's just me and the girls so I have no concrete plans of getting stuff done.

I'd like to have my factory board done by july/august when battle systems is due out but... meh, we'll see.

The board is coming along very nicely indeed. I'm glad I never got into infinity. I'm already spending way too much on GW now that I was never expecting to after their last few years. Last thing I'd need is yet another system worth of factions to covet and buy and paint....

Been a hectic week and it will be for a couple more days yet. I'll post a photo or two in a bit for what little progress I've gotten.

I've also got it in my head to eventually do 3 mutant-rat-people lists for TNT and give them their own underground/cavern 4x4' board aka Ratopia. More on that later, I want to do it but I have to get the city/factory board done first. Trying to work on both will result in neither.

TNT barbarian tribals. Got the skin down. I guess it's NSFW as maybe 5 of them don't have shirts on. Wanna get these guys done and move on. Bones is not my favorite, I'm coming to realize. Price is right, but I'm itching to do some infinity.

In the TNT future their are only half bras . Paint all the fabric purple so you can have the tribe of the purple nurples.

Road is looking great. The TNT stuff is pretty cool, big swords and half shirts. What's not to like?

Thanks guys. Out of 7 barbarians 5 have no shirts, though two have half of boob armor for..reasons? One who isn't technically a barbarian has has a tunic, and the one lady was maybe supposed to be a viking or something instead because she has a chain skirt and a proper top armor (except, y'know, its shaped like boobs).

Nice little bunch there. I just realised they had guns and power weapons. What are you planning on using them for?

Was gonna get something done this weekend despite being busy...then papa nurgle blessed me with some kind of stomach flu. Weak as a kitten and afraid to eat much. Such vomiting like I can't remember.

So maybe progress another time.

Had some Amazon card bonus points roll in recently so now I've got two more groups/teams for my Nomads coming in. After I said I should cut back... but, hey, the points are free so there Now I've got the link box of Riot Grrrls coming to join their spitfire wielding compatriot and the sexy/deadly Chimera and her pupniks will arrive with them. 8 more minis, all stuff from my original Nomads wishlist. Yay. Still on the fence about wanting to get the Moiras but I dunno space nuns are kinda meh most days. One is probably enough.

Still eager to get to work on my current projects but with little quality time to work on them. That's the spring and summer for you. I've done a bit of work on the barbarian tribals at least. Being bones, there isn't that much to do overall so a couple of hours of good dedicated painting time should see the lot of them finished.

I was just thinking that I had an Infinity problem... I do, but apparently not as severe as I though You'll get those all painted before I am halfway through mine.

Any thoughts about making the sidewalk areas of your table tiles raised above the road?

Heh. Yeah. Infinity seems to be my biggest weakness and I've only ever gotten to play maybe one demo game. I was down before and the game did nothing to dissuade me.

Hopefully I find something more profitable to do this winter than sitting around, but if not...I hope to get some more traction on painting. Or even when it starts cooling down in the Fall. Right now it's about to get hot and I'm gonna be completely useless after work until it gets dark more or less

Hmm sidewalks. I hadn't really considered them. I was initially doing the roads as part of a more deserted strip of highway but now that I want them to be the roads that go around a factory etc... maybe you're right. You're the one who makes buildings that look like scale architectural models, what size should the sidewalks be? I guess at least wide enough for a 25mm base to have the illusion that they go with the models.

I may do it though, it would make things more cityish. I wanted to do some stop and street signs on the 4way tile anyway and a sidewalk would be appropriate there. But only if I can find a way to do it relatively time-effectively. I'm counting on the 7 road tiles to be quick and easy to finish and paint so I can get impetus on finishing the board. Easy wins as it were.

Wow guys. I just reviewed my Infinity drawer(s) and discovered that in my love for Infinity I managed to buy the same box of Unidron Batroids TWICE. /embarrassed face
I uhh... I dunno. I mean they're technically total availability in the list they go to, I think. I'll have to sort out some arm swaps as doubling up on all of the special weapons would be kinda meh, maybe come up with some kind of melee attachment as the only way I'd be using them all is for some different system. Kinda neat though, with the baggage guy I have 12 bipedal alienbots.

Wow Grim. Sounds like you're as bad about Unidrons as I am about Bolts. I think my a Infinity pile is starting to look like yours, too. There just isn't enough time to get through it all.

Sucks you were sick =( we all just got over that crap ourselves here, went through whole family. Seems to be going around sadly.

Also, regarding buying the same thing twice - yeah I unfortunately do that all the time. Mostly with books, but I have with models as well.

Extra minis are always potential conversion fodder. Or for trading/swapping.

Sidewalks... well a 1"/25mm base is ~4.5' wide in scale ( yeah) which is a bit wide for a regular sidewalk, but city sidewalks can be wider. I'd go for 1.25" for the narrow walks and 1.75" or 2" for the wide ones. Have them raised 1/8". A bit tall, but an easy measurement to get, especially with 1/8" thick mdf I plan on doing something with sidewalks eventually, but only after the Table of Shame is emptied.

I'm done being sick. Still don't have 100% appetite and feel totally awesome, but not much worse than a work week would do. Many fluids were consumed as soon as it was apparent that they would not be regurgitated with much violence. Thanks for the well wishes.

Yeah I knew the bases were pretty wide, how else are the models gonna be six feet tall. Still a bit surprising.

Hmm maybe the answer is good old foamboard. Glue it down and maybe peel off the top paper so I can do some weathering and give it a concrete texture. Should stick up over the road just a bit too.

That's actually a good idea. I've seen peeled foamcore used for stonework. No reason why it would not be good concrete. I may try this myself.

We'll see how it goes. I figure it will be the right height in relation to the roads and fairly inexpensive. Cutting the long strips evenly will be the challenge for me As long as I can get one side right.. I can obscure the other with debris probably.

The riot grrrls and uberfallcommando team arrived. Yay.

Also got the post apoc barbarians done. Pic attached. Need bases yet. Any backup will have to be mercs, animals, and WGF survivors with space wolf bits who've gone native.
