This topic has been covered in-depth in multiple threads. They are not immune to ID, and with their new stat-line and no access to marks, they will go down to S10 weaponry in a flash.

As I literally JUST said in the post above, DPs cannot take marks. So they are stuck at T5.

Has nobody read the codex on these guys yet? I guess I'll throw you a bone and explain it, though you really should pick up a copy (either thumb through a friends' or something) before jumping into a thread like this... DPs can either be undivided, or nominated as a Demon of (Nurgle/Khorne/Tzeentch/Slaanesh). When you dedicate your DP to one of the Chaos Gods, he gets bonuses related to that Chaos deity. However, he does not have access to marks in addition to this, so there is no way to make them T6-base that I know of, excepting some ally combo I haven't thought of yet. Your best bet is to give them psychic powers from the Biomancy school and hope for Iron Arm.

Quickly making a 145 pt model that is fundamentally bad for its cost exponentially more expensive in hopes of mitigating its pre-existing badness.
aka; no. I have 3 daemon prince models I used regularly in 5th. I now carry them with my army only on the off chance one of my characters rolls 65,66 on the boons table. Unless they are FAQ'd to have EW or get access to Marks of Chaos I will not be including them in my Army List in 6th.

Agreed same thing here.
It's also a bit strange fluff-wise. Chaos Lords seek the ultimate reward, to be upgraded to Daemonhood. If a Daemon Prince and a Warlord are in an army list, there's no way the Daemon Prince can lead the army because he only has LD9, in fact he's the only Character with LD9.
So if for example a Khorne Warlord leads an army for eternal slaughter and bloodshed and Khorne Berzerkers follow him and he's finally rewarded with Daemon Hood, no Khorne Berzerker will ever follow him again...?
How does Angron lead armies?

Am I alone in the "it must be a miss-print" camp?
If you're grown-up about it rather than assuming that GW make deliberately bad rules, it must get EW. Maybe the guy who wrote the entry assumed that "deamon" gave EW?
But still, I'd wait 'til the FAQ's out before jumping to conclusions.

Haha nice But he'll only lead armies of Chaos Space Marines and not that many Khorne Berzerkers as he can't have the Mark of Khorne
It just doesn't add up that a Daemon Prince can't lead armies if you have another Character. If you asked: "Who would lead an army, a Daemon Prince or a Dark Apostle?" Every body would say the Daemon Prince of course.
I wonder what their intentions were...

They don't get a Mark, they get "Daemon of X" which is different (Nurgle = Shrouded and S&P I believe).

No, they do not. They become a daemon of [ ] and the effects are very different to marks. It has been mentioned a couple times...

Yeah man, they'll be fine once you give them the Mark of Nurgle, then make them Psychic Mastery 4, give them a few Divination powers so that they can reroll their Terminator armor saves. I don't see why so many people think that Daemon Princes are bad now. Granted it's around 350 points but not a bad deal.

That'd be great if everyone who played 40k agreed that it must be a misprint, but there are a lot of people who will want to play it by the book, and you'll likely be forced to if your only place to play is your local GW. Telling people not to jump to conclusions is fine if there wasn't already a single clear conclusion there to jump to. Maybe whoever wrote the daemon prince being a daemon of Nurgle assumed that being "of Nurgle" gave him +1 toughness, should we ignore what is currently a clear rule because it doesn't fit fluff? Or because it doesn't fit the last codex? Maybe Obliterators were supposed to be fearless, but there was a misprint and they forgot to add it? Maybe MoT was supposed to give a 5+ instead of a 6+, but it was misprinted? Why not just use the old Chaos book until the new one gets an FAQ, just in case the new one was a misprint?

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

OK so the DP can now be Instagibed at strength 10.
Apart from the tau rail rifle, what is gonna do it?
So 2 broadsides with 2 railguns hitting my flying DP on 6's has a 33%(Assume my math is correct) chance to kill it. Not odds i am willing to take so on my first turn i need to hide it and focus down 2 broadsides, also not that difficult. Its just tau who are not notoriously the most competitive list.
What else is gonna do it? Death Ray can't, demolisher cannon can't, i have run out of strength 10 stuff.
