Coolminiornot showed this at GenCon 2012 and they're finally kick starting it. Looks like a fun, quick game.

And as to be expected, the Kickstarter is incredibly well laid out and transparent. This is how Kickstarter campaign pages should look.

Nice and inexpensive too.

I am always up for a new board game...

Alas, I need to find someone to piggy back on..

If anyone wants to take me on and split a 40 or 50 dollar pledge level, send me a PM!

Wow! A Kickstarter run by CMON that ends three days before Christmas. It's like everything that's awesome about KS, all at once!

Hmm... tempting, but I think I'll sit this one out (gotta stick to my pledge, after all- no new KS for 2012).

Appreciate the heads up about it, though, cincy!

Wow, gives off almost as much of a preorder vibe as the Malifaux RPG.

I don't see the point in Kickstarting a product that would get made anyways.

Was just looking at this.. maybe I missed it, but is it just a card came? What do you need the minis for? Just to say, "this is what my guy looks like, now let me card you to death" ?

There's very little similar between this KS and the Wyrd one, particularly when it comes to layout.

Plus, had you read it, you'd have seen that they're using this as a barometer for potential future Cadwallon projects. IIRC from conversations with Chern An at GenCon, C'MON would like to revitalize the whole Cadwallon/Confrontation universe in a variety of formats.

Anyways, I'll reiterate that the way this is set up is the proper way to set up a KS. Just what we've come to expect from a C'MON produced product. Other companies, instead of bucking what works and stubbornly "doing it their own way," should take note.

I think the figures are more like game pieces to indicate control or something. Small cones would work as well, but the people give it character.

I imagine similarities to the Chaos in the Olde Worlde boardgame

Like.

I'm tempted to pledge something now just so I can get KS updates on Sedition Wars sent to my email while I'm on vacation. I will, of course, drop the pledge before time runs out.

EDIT: So, the whole point of this KS is to determine how much money Rakham fans are willing to throw away in the hope of convincing CMON that people want more Confrontation?

Normally I'd find the timing of the KS to be obnoxious - but it seems pretty clear they're shooting for a very modest KS here.

2 week run time and $25 to "max out" your pledge. It's not something that's going to bankrupt people at Christmas time.

This is nice, not a huge wait and reasonable pledges. Ill probably pledge towards the end after most of my Christmas shopping is done.

This looks like a good game.

However, CMON absolutely *sucks* once the kickstarter is over. No updates, etc. So I find it extremely hard to back anything by these guys.

Right now I have 1,203 emails in my main email address 1,201 of them are kickstarter updates... I don't nessacarily need updates every week from a company I'm pretty sure isn't going to run off with my money.

Always nice to see the Rackham IP. The little plastic pieces are casts of the old metal familiars. Rackham art is lovely and different.

They gave all the important updates (delays, shipping estimates, etc). What else are you looking for?

I get enough junk email about erectile enhancers and lotteries in Africa. Like Catyrpelius, I'm okay with not getting as many KS updates.

$25 is a pretty reasonable price for this generation of board games, will need to look more closely at it...

I agree with this - I'm just starting to explore the Confrontation world but I don't think this is an especially great next step.

Not to mention I'm just quite sick of CMON kickstarters. I've still only received one half of one kickstarter from them. I'm in no rush to back another.

This is only their 4th kickstarter and one of those 4 was canceled. I've backed all of their kickstarters. I've fully received one, and I've received half of the other. Nothing they owe me is really overdue yet. So that gives me some good will towards them.

If your interested in the Confrontation universe then you'll know that its been a "problamatic" IP. It makes sense that this boardgame might be used to judge intrest for future projects in the same world.

One half of one? Does that mean you backed Zombiecide and have received the game? I'm confused as to what "one half of one" means. If that's the case, isn't that all we should have been expecting? As far as I'm concerned, all the "bonus" stuff that'll be coming to me later for Zombiecide is like, icing on the cake. I'm basically going to get boxes of awesome stuff in the mail that I forgot about, and that have long since been paid for. To me that is the best kind of awesome.

Sedition Wars I wasn't expecting until early 2013, so I don't feel like that's late at all. Relic Knights hasn't even completed its time period to finalize your pledges.

So...I guess I'm confused about all the ire being directed towards CMONs Kickstarters....

Also Relic Knights isnt estimated until about May, so no need to even begin getting worked up about that. If it hist August and things havent shipped, I might get a little annoyed.

Oh, I didn't know that was sarcastic whoops.

Yeah, with all the CMON kickstarters that are still ongoing, I wouldn't be going for this. I also think I'm going to draw the line and not do card games through kickstarter. That's the kind of thing I can impulse buy later if I really want it... rather than impulse buy now and have to wait for it, resulting in other impulse buys in the interim

I'm not sure how this tests the water for a reboot of Confrontation. That would be like GW releasing a Spyrer Top Trumps game to see if there's enough interest in fully supporting Necromunda again.

Either this existed in some form or another already, or CMoN realized that they are sitting on a tonne of awesome art and miniatures and can spin up this sort of thing for dramatically reduced costs compared to a "from scratch" game.

I think it will give some indication of whether there is a huge confrontation fan base around.... if there is this will skyrocket, if not it will do ok

(look at Evil Baby Orphanage, that took over 100K and showed Wyrd their fans were clearly on KS, I'm certain it would not have got anywhere near that if it had been made by an unknown)

It will also give Confrontation a push in the public eye & raise some cash

I back the Sedition Wars KS. I've effectively gotten 1 update per month. Most of the early ones were dealing with their screwing up the pledge manager. For the amount of money that was given to them, I figured they could invest more than 10 minutes a month in letting us know whats up. But, everyone can have their own viewpoint.

Wow.... So 1 update a month isn't enough? How often would you like them? Again, they've provided updates every time they've had something of note...... to each his own, but I just don't get it.

Anyway... back on topic. We're on what, day 2? and there's only one stretch goal left on this thing and that will most likely fall today as there's only $3400ish to go. I'm intreagued to see what they can add to keep things rolling for another 14 days
