I prefer the green/yellow, altough the big one with the black/pink scales would look really cool if you made a brighter skin to increase the contrast.

The green/yellow combo certainly has the most impact, but I also rather like the blu/red and the black/white gaunt scheme. Nice work!

I vote for the red/blue myself. I actually prefer it to the yellow/green by quite a bit, bit partial to 'nids in blue.

Hive Fleet Fruit Loop. Hmmm
Thanks all, still entirely undecided, I've got until the Harpy (hopefully) appears in the next couple of months to make my mind up.
In all the examples, I've just used 2 main colours rather than differentiating the carapace and claws, I hope this will translate ok to the bigger models, I prefer the simpler somewhat cartoony look, about as detailed as my painting gets thus far (22 years in, finally reached tabletop standard, more or less )

If you prefer a cartoony style, I'd say go with the blue/red, simply because the yellow could be a real pain to do on larger models.

pink/red looks alot better, but i think blue/red will look alot more striking on the table top. It'll really make your army stand out, 'n' get you loads of attention
(of course if everyone else you know plays bright colours..... go brighter?)

I think that the green and yellow scheme has the biggest impact on how they look. Loads of them swarming across a table would be very cool.
Also green and yellow are good complimentary colours. This means if you have details like weapons, parts of their weapons, toxin sacs etc, you can paint these parts in other colours and they will most likely fit in with the colours you have chosen.

Green and yellow looks very stiking. Fits very well with the organic nature of tyranids.
The one I find the less apealling is the black/grey one. It looks a bit dull, almost like a BT pet dog.
I'd say go green/yellow, or turquoise/red. A whole army of such blocky colours would look amazing in the field.

I think that yellow up to black would work really well on the carapace. It will give them a really scary wasp-like look, people are afraid of wasps.

Ta very much, I have removed my questions to comply with the just-read guidelines (oops sorry), some more small gribblies and possibly a big one will follow to test yellow/black and a third colour.

I like the one on the right. Imo, Tyranids don't look as good with bright colour schemes unless there's a good amount of contrast.

For me, 'Nids have to be either dark and dangerous looking or bright and extravagant... To this end it has to be either the amazing Green/Yellow paint job or the foreboding Black/White paint job on the Gaunt. Either one of those two is a winner every time!

Following all the above, I tried some Termagants with yellow variants (can be seen in my gallery) but they are all a bit murky, so I stuck with the brighter green/yellow for a test Carni -
Hope you like him. I might yet mix a lighter green for a further highlight, and I can do a much smoother crisper job on further models now I know the scheme. Thanks for looking

Really well painted, especially for a test model. Wouldn't be my choice of scheme. Just too bright and garish for my particular tastes, much prefer the black/pink one from the first picture. But really well executed nonetheless.
