This definitely looks like a multi-week release. No flyer, no stand-alone upgrade sprue, no Watch Captain, and no Deathwatch Veteran box as of yet. I have to say this all looks really cool, but not enough to get me to preorder. I'll work on my AoS army, finish my Blood Ravens, then probably start on the Deathwatch.

so two questions;

are HTH anything different from normal TH, and are stalker bolters anything special rulewise????

I wish I could find a set of the Overkill marines on ebay. Only seeing them sold as singles for like $10-$15 each :(

Huh, Deathwatch get 18 special TacOs, for 48 total, instead of 36 like everyone else.

A few things from the assembly guide, sprue pics, and box pics:
Standard loadout seems to be bolter and power sword. There are 5 of each, and only 2 shotguns and 1 stalker bolter.
Vanguard vets looks to be able to take the heavy thunder hammer and shield + maul loadouts.

HTH - str 10 AP 2 6 to wound causes instant death 2 handed and the usual TH stuff

Stalker bolter is a 30" str X AP 4 heavy2 sniper with special issue ammo

Still gonna buy a ton of this but these rules remind me a lot of 5th ed grey knights.. IE all our wargear is flat out better than space marines, and we can take it in unlimited quantities because its "rare".. huh? I just assumed in 5th ed that the Grey Knights had entire solar systems devoted to creating nothing but psybolt ammo.

A thunderhammer is already a pretty heavy weapon! S10 for same cost seems odd. As if no one else has figured out how to make it "heavier"

What I've just noticed with the kit is that you can't really model the veterans as stock, all the bolters are being held one handed, I suppose you could cut the power swords out of the other arms hand but it might look a bit crappy, also annoying that the stalker bolter guy is reloading, GW seem to like putting sniper type guys in crappy poses, vindicare assassin is the same in my opinion

do you think the sniper profile would add to the different s.i. ammo?

Edit 1: also do you know what are silence bolters, and what does the big black shield does to the wielder? does it have a save?

The big black shield is listed in the assembly guide as a Storm Shield. So I imagine that it is just that, a Storm Shield. Silence Bolters are probably a mistranslation to the Stalker Bolter.

follow-up question ... does the stalker bolter has its own table on special issue ammunition like the bolter & bolt pistol, or does it use the bolter profile keeping the same range on the different ammo types like the rest.
given the stalker has a longer fire range, I was just wondering ...

So, is the only answer Deathwatch have to Superheavies/GCs Are Blsck Shields with Heavy Thunderhammers?

I mean, GCs don't really care about poison, krak grenades (unless impact does something amazing and I missed it), or heavy bolters.

Edit: Impact does do something pretty good, but a squad with four is still not going to bring down a Wk...

Can't they take grav weapons?

Can't take grav cannons, and a frag launcher is going to do about as well as the Gravgun, and will even have longer range coming out of a pod.

Don't forget that Watch Captain Artemis can drop Str D! But yes, Blackshields laying the smackdown with a giant hammer seems to be the way to do things. I will probably just ally in a Knight to deal with other big stuff though.

They also have the frag cannons that are S9 AP2 at 12" (and assault 2), and they can get grav guns/pistols

Knights get demolished by WKs though. Maybe an Atrapos could work, or a Lancer...

And Artemis has a 1/3 chance of dropping the D on himself. :p

Yeah, that is true. And even if he does hit, he is probably going to get smooshed the same turn anway. I suppose massed Gravguns or Frag Cannons might help take down a WK. 8 Str 9, AP2 shots are likely to at least cause some problems. You could always make a Kill Team with four Frag Cannons and Four Cyclone Missile Launchers on Terminators. You might kill a WK at that point.

Just a thought on the terminators, given that the melta/powerfist thing is a codex option (& not just for the DWO salamander) and not available anywhere else, is it possible they'll be doing a dedicated DW terminator box? 'Cause GW don't do rules without models these days.

There is a chance to get terminator, bike or vangaurd squads alone in the Strike Force or there is only kill team formations where they have to babisitting veterans on foot ?

Cause if this is the case i will go with a CAD...
The kill team rule is just plain stupid...

and there is outside DWO bits to convert terminators power fists to "meltafists" and bike bolters to DW bolters?

I think that apart from some cool equipments this release is a big disappointment and shows how less GW cares now and release things just to fill the space until they release the new 40k edition...
