Yep the the floor pieces are from the Hirst Arts mold #203

I don't need to take a mold of them at this point my friend has offered to lend the molds to me whenever I need them.... he apparently has seen the Tervigon I built and is happy to have me owe him a favour.....worrying, but I am enjoying the molds too much to care right now

Hey people! Got some new ruined castle pics for you…that’s pretty much it.



My first two bases, I have done them in the same ash waste scheme as my IG so I can pretend the two armies are fighting each other “Pew Pew..your dead,” “ Arrghh” you know how it goes.





Couple of shots of the plaster work, will need more of course as well as plenty of sanding and carving….a lot more work than I ever anticipated but I’ve started now

Thanks everyone, means a lot that you feel the actual vehicle is matching up to your expectations! It sure does make me spend the extra time on it when I know you guys will be checking it over

@Wolfshadow - The weapon turrets are currently undergoing a redesign. I was planning on a hemispherical dome of brass with the mulitlaser or battle cannon poking out but after spending some time with the rats now I think it looks too "victorian" as opposed to "skaveny" so now I am planning a cockpit type turret which will house a gunner, complete with mask, and the weapon will be on a chunky pintle mount. I realize that an open topped turret may not be WYSIWYG but I think Skaven wouldn't be bothered by bullets whizzing past their heads TBH and it will help reinforce the look of the vehicle, I hope!

How about the guns on columns or shattered arches rising up from the castle so they match the theme?

Or just cannons propped up in the rubble?

Or "floating" turrets off to the sides or above the castle?

How about using the crew of some Doomwheels? They're already seated & operating some kind of device-device...

@Gitsplitta @ Graven image - I wanted the guns to look bolted on as opposed to part of the ruins....the floating gun platforms..now your just screwing with my mind

@Yggdrisil - I have a doomwheel on it's way to me and will be using as much as I can from it to create a turret cockpit that is castable, I will need like six of these things so casting is the only realistic way to go.

Maybe just the stuff you can take from heavy weapon teams (Note: I dont play IG) and just strap em on there.

Love how the floating ruins are coming along. I'm interested to see how you incorporate the weaponry into the models.

I like the incorporation of the sewer into the floating fortress. I like the sort of homage to the WHFB roots of the Skaven. You may just inspire GW to hop to it... then again... we still have no Squats...

I like this idea. but maybe think of the doombell skaven weapons, where they have some crazy mechanical thing that somehow is a gun, haha, you could have a bunch of tanks of warpstone energy being pumped into some sort of long barrel being held up by skaven slaves.....

Your public clamors for satisfaction Blackhand... floating turrets are what they require. You, as the humble artistic sock-puppet... must satisfy them.

I think a big turret machine wiv pipes & vats would be empire for a basilisk.

Damn you all...I will begin designing the floating turrets tonight...was ghoing to have a quite night..grumble grumble...

@LeBaron - Yeah My though is that the skaven ride around INSIDE the ruins not on them, so they would have converted the old buildings cellars and sewers into crew compartments..thats the idea any way.

@Sageheart - I would like to go to town on the weapons and jsut build whatever comes to mind but I want to enter a tournemtn with these guys next year and still want to keep at least the weapons WYSIWYG,...can still have tanks of warpstone pumping poisonous gas all over the place just for fun though

hehe go to town on at least one for me... for us.. for the rat ingenious mind!

A Battle cannon on an 18th cent naval type mount would be cool.

Or if you wanted them to have cover, but not be fully 'turreted' you could use barbettes like what was on ships in the late the late 1800s-early 1900s.
