Oh yeah much better. Though I would like to think the official conversion will have more than a couple armour planks on the shoulders.
It's funny how Ork players always mistake kitbashing for actual converting.
So what would call a Dread Knight that has been looted it with plasticard, green stuff, and ork bitz into a counts as Deff Dread? Is a baneblade done up the same way not a skullhamma conversion?

So I don't know if this was stated before, but do we know which one of the gun things is the Psycannon and which one is the Psilencer?
Also, I don't have a lot of time, but here's my take:
PAGK - Lovely, and still keep the feel of the older generations of Grey Knights. Perhaps a bit better with the sleeker new look.
GKT - Awesome, though I'll probably cut off the SB drum mags and jury rig some belt feeds to somewhere. Also... my obsessive love for terminators will make me buy some of these even if I don't end up playing GK.
Dreadknight - It's okay. I can see what they were going for looks-wise, but I'm not sure if I agree with the direction. I'd probably go for something a little more along Knight Titan lines (but smaller)... maybe some sort of psychically controlled automaton like what was described in A Thousand Sons.
Mat Ward says: The Nemesis Dreadknight is an intimidating foe. It can go toe-to-toe with pretty much any monstrous creature in the game, and wades through lesser enemies with ease. It's also the Grey Knights' best option for serious fire support, with options for heavy psycannon, gatling psilencer and heavy incinerator - just the thing to thin the enemy horde from a distance. Whatever your style of generalship, the Nemesis Dreadknight brings plenty to the fight!

Apart from the knight with the baby grey Knight papoose.
I hereby rename it the POWER PAPOOSE!!!
Hopefully the dumb harness/knight will be sepperate, also i despise those dumb Matrix revolution pistons on the top, they look awful. The legs however are FANTASTIC!

KOS wrote:I love them except for the stupid tesla coil backpacks and the HORRIBLE Dreadknight.
The coil backpacks are optional. If you don't want them (I don't want those either) just put the regular ones on the models or remove the coils (should take about 30 seconds for the five of them). I understand the complaints about five for 26,- (Euro), but that is the same price as jump pack squads, and people buy those in droves too without much bitching about it.
And the Dreadknight, Idk, it's definitely not my favourite ever, but it also is not as horrible as some make it out to be. It's a lot better at least than I feared when we only had the blurry images.

I just looked over the sprues and it looks like the grey knight is made of separate pieces.

Well, in IA*, there is an extra-big dread called a mega deff dread. The Dread Knight would make a good conversion base for it, and at half the price of the forge world model.

That's what I thought as well, but Therion seems to think it wouldn't be a conversion and that I have had my terminology wrong for a while now.

-PAGK: I actually like these better than the Terminators (it's probably the white helmets of the Incinerators that do it for me), the Storm Bolters don't bother me too much, but I guess that's me.
-Terminators look great, especially some of the poses that have them striding forward and looking menacing. In a similar vein, Draigo isn't so bad but there's no way I'm fielding him with that bare head (if at all). That shield is pretty ace, but again it's my opinion.
-Dreadknight: Objectively terribad.

Also about the prices. Draigo seems pretty on par with some more recent prices. I think Meganobz are about the same price. What I don't get is how come the space wolves troop back has twice as many pieces as the PAGK for only a few dollars more.

Honestly the Dreadknight doesn't look nearly as bad as people are making out and I think it's just an echo chamber effect.
it's still not cool no matter how much a certain poster whines. either way, this set is definitely a mixed bag leaning a bit to "pro" for those who want to do a standard GK force (my planned one was really wierd and the sets don't help me much unfortunately).
GK squad: pros: lots of weapon options, nice that you get 4 "special" weapons in the set, good detail, justicar (minus the braveheart head) looks awesome cons: redesigned fire extinguisher psycannon looks goofy, side clips on stormbolters are too clunky (but luckily from the sprue pics are detachable/optional), $$, only a 5 man set, and while the weapon selection is good there isn't enough to fit out the squad with all spears which i think people were hoping for.. and most importantly, they apparently use the bunny ears from my childhood black and white 12" TV in 1986 for teleportation. i could barely get a clear signal for channels but they can hope through the warp with them. i would have preferred a chunkier addon to the backpack instead.
GK termies: pros: lots of close combat weapon options, good detail, nice extras like the command squad-esque stuff cons: clips on bolters, goofy psycannon again
Draigo: pros: solid detailed model, nice look cons: $$ all in all i'd still prefer to use my Inquisitor Rex model instead as a stand in rather than spend the money for him.. not really a comment on him being bad but rather a comment on my like for the rex model instead.
Dreadknight: pros: large model, nice detail and pieces, ranged weapons look nice and a bit more like the old style than the newer ones on the infantry cons: looks better looted than the intended purpose, apparently beat up ALL the dreadnoughts across the imperium and stole their thighs to selfishly extend his own legs.

Given that we can take Terminators as troops now, I bet the PAGK boxsets wont sell well. Half the content of the comparable SW boxset with twice the proportionate cost. Plus, who doesn't love 2 wound terminators AS TROOPS!? XD
*goes and buys 3 boxes of termies*
The Dreadknight though, is kinda comical due to how it looks like an upsized terminator.

according to the rumors from the leaked codex, they're all in the GK book now. you've got special and generic versions of all three =I= ordos in there so making the figs a part of their webstore makes sense.

the 2 wound termies are elite paladins, the troop termies are the same as everyone elses (except being psykers)

i don't want to sound like a fanboy but whats with the semi hate towards the new gk stuff.the troops are well done and in my opinion the dread knight looks cool, kind of a penitent engine on steroids.im not a grey knight collector myself and i can't understand why folk are moaning that noobs will be all over them etc.the new plastic kits will be converted by some of the cool people on dakka and we will see some cool takes on the grey knights.

The GK plastic kits themselves are well done, they look like they'd blend in very well with existing GK metal models.

Trust me on this. I've been called one of the biggest GW apologists and told that I'm "blinded by faith in the company".
The Dreadknight is an utter and complete work of crap. It does not fit with the Imperial aesthetic, nor does the Penitent Engine for that matter. They're half-assed attempts at creating something 'unique'--and all it pulls out is 'crap'.

There's some nice details on these but for the umpteenth time they've sodded it up with the paint job. Every time I see a new GW army they seem to have got someone to paint it exactly wrong. I know painting metal with blue is a vaguely good idea because back in the 80s there was a lot of blueish metal but that was chrome and chrome armour would be a fething crime. So many times I see the "eavy metal" (sorry I hate the current team's direction and cant equate it with the previous teams) painted versions and then go to my local GW to see how someone with a clue would paint it. Case in point was the giant spider, loads of pics of ones painted for independent stores and they look much better than the in house version. I wouldn't mind it if they painted to a lower standard so us mere mortals could emulate them but this seems all technique and no soul. I kook forward to seeing a dirty paint job on the walker and a better pose.
I might be tempted with these if they remain a small elite force.

Methink you doth protest too much.
IMHO, I like it. Sometimes, the IoM moves forward. In their initial blurb on the site, they say that GK get all of the best tech that no one else gets. Someone on Mars is actually developing new tech, which for me is pretty exciting.
I'm surprised that no one freaked out over the fact that NWS are only 2++ in close combat. I know folks were saying they were OTT before.
