Oh man. I was hoping these wouldn't start until the latter half of 2013. I've just resolved to not kickstart anything until then. Why must Raging Heroes tempt me so?!

Uh-oh. Dark Elves? Crap, that's a weak spot for me. I've got high hopes for that kickstarter, along with the sinking feeling that it will take my money!

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

I'm really interested in those Tank Girl ones.

Really like the looks of these figures.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

That dark elf is really nice design, I like the fact that it breaks away from the common design aesthetic we see associated with GW/Mantic and more resembles the sort of thing I've seen in MMO's such as WoW/Lineage/Aion, a more "modern gaming" approach if that make sense.

I'll start saving for the Dark Elf kickstarter, then. Any idea when that will be put up? Summer(ish) time?

I'm gonna have to say that's a "tad" bit better than the one GW is offering.

I would be excited for this, but after seeing the metal Blood Vestals in person, am weary of committing to anything from RH till I see them in person. Tiny figs and shallow detail. It is a shame because I liked their Manticore rider and banner twin figs. Was going to order some of the mantis girls, but was waiting to see a friends figs before ordering.

Will still tell my friend of this KS. I'm pretty sure he will still commit.

The vibe seems less "Space Infantry" and more "Space Trucker".

Not a complaint, just an observation. Certainly a unique approach.

The one thing that concerns me is that it seems pretty clear from their Q&A that this will be a metal project: anyone have any definitive word on that? (They mention producing their miniatures with "spins", which rules out injection molded plastics.)

As I mentioned these models 40k wise will be useful for the more "dirty" regiments like Salvar and Penals

Raging Heroes is a metal/resins company though, thats what they do and will probably always do

Why is there 2 threads?

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/370322.page

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

On the Kickstarters: I'm disappointed that they went with restic instead of proper plastic. Proper plastic is reliable, restic ranges from adequate-but-slow to Finecast. I'm also disappointed that the Kickstarter that sounds best so far is coming first, before we know whether Raging Heroes restic is good or crap.

Will they use a different process or material for their kickstarter miniatures than they've used in the past?

Wow, I actually really like that... and that's with my not being a fan of their Kurganova (sp?) sisters.

I'd be a little wary of Kickstarting Raging Heroes, though... they're much nicer but have delays similar to Avatars of War :-/

To be fair, their delays are not bad when compared to other Kickstarters, and certainly not when compared to AoW!

Hmmm. I really like my Kurganovas, and think they fit well as leaders in a Guard army, despite hints of impracticality in their attire. Leaders don't necessarily have to look practical...

Don't really like Sergeant Parker though. Not sure why. I guess I'd rather see relatively realistic, practical appearances for the rank-and-file. Which definitely rules out any combination of armour + bare tummy.

I own Olga and Malinka, I really like both of them, Olga is probably my fave mind and counts as a Lord Commissar in my second Guard force.

My only issue with Malinka is her stance is too wide, it looks slightly wrong (really wrong according to Aura ) and I had to put some rubble on the base as her footprint was too wide to stand on a basic 40K base.

Ivanova annoys me to the point I don't want her, and skipped the box as she'd not be used. The pose is just.. blegh.

As to Sgt Parker, she looks okay, they did say character types would be a little more extreme than rank and file troops and I suspect they'll be including Sgts in that to make up the numbers. It would also give a personality to each squad, but yeah, still looking likely I'll be backing this, and probably heavily.

Yes indeed! More of less all of that is in the works…

Will you be making plastic kits?
Not injected plastics, but definitely some cool stuff. More on that soon.
(...)
Yes, we definitely think good-looking female minis are an asset to any army!
For now, we are not sure exactly how we will do this, but we are definitely considering doing some kind of expansion packs for our minis in the form of bits…
(...)
We realized that, for some games, the Fantasy Blood Vestals would feel just a tad small/petite. However, we felt that it fitted well this particular unit of delicate yet deadly female warriors.
For the upcoming Dark Elves releases, we will probably up their size and bulk a little bit, since everybody in the industry is slowly migrating to 32mm as opposed to the traditional 28mm found in Fantasy.

Spoiler:

Awww crap - now I need to tell one of my players/opponents about this.

She had me paint the Blood Vestals, Praying Mantis and Reaper Miniatures' Nephal for her armies (both fantasy and 40K).

Nephal of the Six Fingers....

The Auld Grump, care to guess how she had me paint that sword?

Raging Heroes wrote: Lady von Stroheim planned for coming Kickstarter

Here is Lady von Stroheim, who is part of the upcoming Kickstarter starring the Kurganovas' Shock Troops, coming this month:

As you can see on this image, we've planned a little twist for this Kickstarter, which is intended to feature not only the Rambettes (heroines and units), but also, if we reach the right stretch goals, their nemesis: another female faction with Nazi overtones and dark cyber technologies.

So you're in for gas masks, long coats and cyber implants...

We'll soon provide more background info for these two factions...

What's coming in this Kickstarter?

We've planned many special characters, as well as multi-part kits that will allow you to create most or all the units you may need for a full army, that will be usable in many contexts or game systems.

If you haven't had a chance to read through our previous Q&A's (see our previous blog entries), this will include at least one mecha, and some sort of motorcycle unit.

Should the Kickstarter reach high enough goals, you'll have the possibility to develop two different armies, the Rambettes and the Nazi Ladies, or mix-and-match them in the same army, if you are so inclined.

So, what's taking so long?

As you probably know, there's quite a bit of administrative and logistical stuff to sort out before launching a Kickstarter so we're hard at work getting all our ducks in a row. But we started talking about the Kickstarter ahead of time to make sure we could hear back from you and make the necessary tweaks before launching the project.
So anything else you want to share with us, please do, we're listening.

What about your two other Kickstarters?

We'll have more info on the Dark Elves and the Sisters of Eternal Mercy Kickstarters in our next post, but do rest assured that these are coming along quite nicely...

BANNERS!

Well, as you know, to make this work, we need YOU!
A smart reader suggested that we provide banners to help spread the word. So, DONE!
Please grab the banner below and link it to this Kickstarter page (http://www.ragingheroes.com/pages/kickstarter-news) we've just set up (until the Kickstarter is actually live).
You can put it on your blog, or as you signature in forum posts, or anywhere else you can think of...

Oh, and if you haven't yet done so... please FRIEND US!

We've mentioned it before, but may we also strongly suggest that you ask us (Asharah Raging) as a friend on Facebook, (for communication purposes, "Friending" Asharah is more effective than "Liking" the Raging Heroes page). At this point in time, Facebook is probably the best way to get real time info on what's going on with our Kickstarter and other projects.
Asharah Raging is already up 230+ Friends since we've started communicating on this!
You can also follow us on Twitter. We're not very effective Twitterers yet, (but working on it); and all our Facebook posts do get an automatic Twitter update.

PS/ Want to make sure you know when we get started? Just sign up for our newsletter.
Want to help out? Please leave a comment below - just remember to use your actual email address so we can contact you (don't worry, it won't be visible online).

To make this happen, PLEASE, PLEASE, SPREAD THE WORD!
