Or you could get together with some others on Dakka and pool your money into a single pledge, agreeing beforehand who gets what. That way you get what you want and only chip in for part of the shipping costs.

I was originally only going in for the $40 pledge, but somehow my hand slipped and I'm in for the $95 8 heroines and ks exclusive pledge.

The boyfriend is also keen to pick up a few of the heroines, so I'll probably be adjusting it up again later.

Yep, this is common with Aussies pledging for kickstarters. Or other international shipments really, always tacking on models to friends orders ; )

From the FAQ:

What's the difference between "additional minis" and the "freebies" you talk about?

The "additional minis" mentioned in the CAPTAIN BOX pledge level and above are "free minis" (as some are calling them). We call them "additional minis" because if you do the maths, you will see that they are included in your pledge level at no extra cost to you.

The "freebies" will be "unlocked extras miniatures" that will be added FOR FREE to all pledges from the LIEUTENANT BOX level and above pledge levels

I'm not sure that's entirely correct, from what we've been told/read?

Maybe they've messed up the FREEBIES and FREE MINIATURES rewards?

Or they didn't mean Lieutenant Box and above?

I'm sure it will all be sorted out eventually...

Have these images been shown?

That last one is tempting me with Iron Empire designs...

The current plan was to go heavy Kurganovas with the Jailbirds serving as specialists/veterans.

Maybe Iron Empire as Commissar types?

I guess it would also depend upon what RH's own rules are like too though!

I almost wish I hadn't come into this thread. I'm still reeling from MYTH, Robotech, DZ, and All Quiet.

Those are some seriously nice miniatures and the prices in the KS are friggen ridiculously cheap (IMHO) for the quality of what is being show.

I will drop $10 all day long on something of higher quality than I've paid $20 for.

Good news is, my wife loves what she sees, and she's not a gamer/player/collector.

That might be my in!

I thought this was fairly clear. Perhaps the ease with which I understood it means I also am mistaken.

The "free miniatures" are the Jetpack lady and an additional free heroine.

The "freebies" mean things like that bulldog one of the ladies comes with, different weapons, headswaps, etc.

Also Major Severina seems like she'd fit in well with a DKoK army, depending on scale.

Lieutenant and above get the freebies, if we ever get to any.

Commander and above have some wording along the lines of "Plus blah additional $10 heroines/troops/whatevers". Once you get to Captain, if you add up the value of what you're getting in the pledge, it'll be greater than what the pledge itself costs. Hence they call the "Gift Minis" at that level and above.

Honestly? I think if you ignore the language about gift minis, and just go by what's listed in pledge descriptions, you'll see what's going on better.

Edit: And just to illustrate exactly how clear this all is. Ouze and I describe completely different things, since pledges well below Captain level get Rockettteer.

I think the bottom line is, if there's this much confusion, it isn't clear.

Still - these miniatures will be quite nice when it is all said and done.

And we haven't even seen the bikes or the Mechas yet!

I'm not too stressed about it. The DeadZone KS whch just finished had gakky value initially. While I don't expect a pile of BOGOFs or anything here, I got me EB pledge in, and now while I'll read this thread, I'm not going to stress about it (or even care all that much) until there's about 2 days left. By that stage, I expect that the values will have hiked somewhat, and if I decide then that the value is poor at that time, I'll yank most/all of my pledge. No need to stress for the next 30 days, though.

No big deal.

I don't really get how they can cover shipping for the 15$ donation mini, because for the models I want it almost seems like a better deal to buy a couple of those.

4 nice models for 40$ is great, 4 nice models for 63$ is not. If I wanted to overpay for models I would buy some GW stuff at retail.

If they included the shipping on the 40$ set, or made it so you can get a troop box instead of just heroes, or maybe even made a 60$ set that you can get troops in I would buy one. The 23$ dollar shipping on top of the 40$ is just breaking this deal for me.

You could rock the $40 pledge level then add on a troop box, that'd take you to $55 + S&H for 9 minis.

Some more responses from RH from questions I've seen here on Dakka and else where. Especially for "show me the money" on some of the troop sculpts.

"Fielding some requests for an update with Renders from the unit boxes (non hero)
Apparently you guys are doing too good a job with the heroines and people are worried the grunts will suffer in comparison"
Images of the Troops will be shown during the Kickstarter, and sooner rather than later. Also, please note that in the trailer, the Kurganova Regular Troops are shown. And at the time, the faces were not quite finalized

"At what level of funding do we clear all the unlocks?"
With this amazing start, you can be sure that everything will be unlocked by the end of this KS.

In other news we hit 250k and are four people away from 1000 backers and we are not even close to the 24 hour mark, I think that might be a record for Day 1 backing for wargaming KSes.

Before the FAQ, I would have disagreed with this. Reading the FAQ, this seems to be the proper interpretation. I'm certainly hoping that there's more substantive freebies than an accessory dog.

They really need to get rid of the "Funding 12,000" picture (https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/assets/000/644/973/d1a7fb4867f1f0f3cc5b487d404b3ff5_large.jpg ). It just confuses things since it's all unlocked, not a key pledge level, and it's all repeated in a better fashion below.

Another update from the wiped out staff. Apparently they've just visited a boulangerie for fresh croissants (seriously, so French!) but are using the carbs to power up and continue the assault.

"What does 3 $10 Heroines (or $30 worth of Heroines) mean?"
It means that you can, in this example, get three $10 Heroines, but you could also choose two $15 Heroines.

And if you want two $10 Heroines, and one $15 Heroine, it is completely appropriate to increase your pledge and "pay the difference" on that final model per the team.

And if you want more Heroines/Troops/Support than what is included in your BOX level, you can pick and choose what you like, total up their value, and increase your pledge by that amount.

You will be able to tell us your specific choices after the Kickstarter ends, when we send you the KS survey.

I thought as much. My pledge is for the $80 of Heroines.

I want the not-Tech-Priestess, and she’s $20, and I want Mrs. Lightning Claws and I believe she’s $15 (or will be). That’s $35 of my $80 limit, leaving me $45. If I get 5 more Heroines of $10, I just add $5. Not all that complicated.

General Lightning Claws is indeed in the $15 category.

I decided to play with different ways to get my pledge the way I wanted it. So starting at the $80 level to get the following heroines: Ivanka Kruganova sculpt, Commander Elektra, Karmina Noxx and Irina Vega, the Tank Hunter hero, with Not Tech Priestess bringing me to $70, finish that off and add $5 with the Kruganova standard Bearer $85.

For troops I want four squads of grunts ($60), two command squads ($30) and then a pair of heavy squads and a heavy command squad ($60)

Puts me at $258 shipped and gives me access to all the heroines I want. A savings of $25 or so compared to my current set up at the LT level with the add ons I want and I lose out on my heavy weapons. (The $285 is without the Not Tech Priestess, she makes the number $305) and of course I still get the awesome art book and the KS exclusive mini. I do lose out on the "freebies" but so far that's just an alternate head with a barracks cover to swap out Commander Elektra's piss cutter* with.

The more KS I see funding at insane levels while sticking with resin, the I wonder how Mark @ Dream forge did what he did in plastic with what he got, which was less then RH got in the first 12hrs. He must have literally taken none of it in profit.

I was hoping wed have more unlocked this deep in. We have only a glimmer of Iron Empire bikes and no clue on the mechas.

Also cost per person and per item was much higher.
This is 150+ mini's... where as DF was much fewer.

However I agree, Mark did an unbelievable job with that one... probably the best I have ever been involved in.

Mark's Kickstarter in many ways was one of the early ones. Like Kings of War before it. That can clearly be seen in the initial projected delivery date of October 2012, and March for the later stages. If Mark was to do a second KS down the line, I think it would be looking at half a million to a million+ - especially on the back of other successful campaigns and his own product. My understanding was also that Mark was putting in a lot of his own money as well. I seem to remember someone talking about something around $20k, but I may be misremembering.
