The Slaaneshi look to the new avatar has me hopefully about future slaanesh releases.

I like them. These are some really interesting and good-looking miniatures

And the book with miniature releases seems to be what I had hoped the Iyanden supplement and Death Masque would be. The former lacking new miniatures for some of the main characters to accompany the book, the latter didn't seem to offer that much of story progression afterall - at least not from what was told in the booklet.

I'm looking forward to part two of the Gathering Storm campaign (which looks to be the sequel to Death Masque as well)

Jon snow IS dead. For all intents and purposes he's a zombie now. And that's the show's canon which we can safely say has given GRRM's story the middle finger plenty of times. *cough*dorne*cough*

Holy smokes! I'm not so sure on the 'not lady Malys' as it's not to my tastes, the dress is just... it looks out of place with my own idea of 40k. I prefer the DE equivalent more I think!

On the other hand, the guy in the red armour looks fantastic and the slaneshi avatar thingy looks like it would be a heck of a challenge to paint, perhaps out of my skill range even (to get it to look good, that is)

Interesting release. I like 2/3 which is more than the Imperial Triumvirate release... Eldar win!

The more and more I look at the avatar of ynnead the more and more I like it. It's a beautiful model, it's going to be a pain to paint, but isn't every truly great model?

I seem to pick out another incidental detail every time I take a glance at it, gems and masonry being ripped out of the ground for example. It's quite captivating, I look forward to getting the GW's '360 view'!

I love these models though. They have so many subtle elements of both Eldar and Dark Eldar that its interesting to see how their aesthetics interact. Now, whether I buy or not them will probably depend on what sort of play style they mesh with for existing eldar armies.

I love all the models. Love the Herald of Slaanesh...er...I mean Avatar of Ynnead. I don't know what I was expecting when that rumor about the Avatar came out months ago. But that would not have been it. She/he/it looks like a Slaaneshi herald absorbing spirit stones. Or more heretically an Eldar Psyker ascending to daemon princedom.

INQ28 players are going to be hacking these up with gusto for those sweet components.
I'm already thinking of putting cawls mech arms under that big skirt and having greyfaxs' upper body on top of it like some sort of baroque mechanical centaur woman.

As long as those named characters aren't space marines, and its in an Eldar specific book Yncarne should be fine. Otherwise.....all bets are off. I mean, they had freaking Eldrad and a troupe of Harlies job for the Deathwatch.

Yvraine looks nice, though that headdress and topknot looks like it'll break off just by looking at it.
Ynnead avatar looks awesome, though I think there might be a sharp exchange of words with Eldrad Ulthran lol. (Along the lines of "WTF did you do?!")
The guy in red looks awesome. Serious Dark Eldar archon material.

I hope Artemis pops out of nowhere with his void grenade and screws it ll up again.

I'm not really an Eldar player but I'm liking these models. Hopes are high for the anticipated chaos trio.

Despite all of the speculation regarding the possible AoS influenced 8th edition later this year, as long as they continue to produce models of this quality, GW will have my business.

Guy in red is an ok but rather boring sculpt.... And doesn't really seem to fit with the current Aeldorado aesthetic. Would look right at home alongside my almost 20-year old Dark Eldar, though.

The Avatar is absurd. When your decorative flourishes become so much more prominent than the actual model, it's time to step back and think about what you're doing. There's an ok model hidden in there, but it would be a nightmare to paint.

Crazy cat lady is ok. I like the cat.

This looks promising. A bit disappointed that there's no Veil walker model(yet). The Yncarne is not what I was expecting an avatar of Ynnead to look like and I'm generally not a fan of the non optional sculpted scenery but overall I like it. The Visarch looks like the art from part one as expected. Yvraine is IMO the highlight of the bunch, walking barefoot onto the battlefield in a formal gown armed with a sword a knife fan and a kitty bodyguard? Hopefully she will have rules to back up the attitude. Also as I'm currently playing through the new Fate game she is totally getting painted up as red Saber

Why I think it's Malys, but not actually Malys, by Mad Doc Grotsnik, aged 36 and 2/3rds.

Well, definitely looks like Malys' description, down the blade and fan.

But, Malys are we know was once a proponent of self administer heart transplant surgery, following the interference of Veilwalker - the Eldar seemingly pulling all the strings right here.

Now exactly whose heart is was Malys played swapsies with is, so far as I'm aware, very much open to interpretation (and sadly, i no longer have that DE codex).

But seems to me it's all part of Veilwalker's plan. Also quite possible Malys didn't actually win that little battle of wits.

Could very well be her form is possessed by A.N.Other (fragment of the Laughing a God or whatever).

Then there's the Greyfax curiosity. See, she was a, ahem, guest of Trazyn...who in previous Codecies was mucking about with a model-less character Inquisitor Valeria, whom it's revealed in Fall of Cadia (or at least strongly suggested) met her demise at the hands of Inquisitor Greyfax - so there's some kind of precedent for the new models being unheard of new characters linked to never-produced characters of yesteryear.

I've seen a few people on Facebook say that the Red Guy cannot be Yriel because he doesn't have the Spear of Twilight. But:
A) we haven't seen the full kit yet, there could be a spear holding hand, and even a unhelmeted head. Seeing the model as we have could be GW being sneaky as usual.
B) we cannot assume that Yriel would still have the Spear anyway. Maybe He and Veilwalker used it in some way to awaken this Avatar of Ynnead.
C) or maybe the Avatar of Ynnead took the spear and reforged it into a spear to give to Yriel as the "sword of Ynnead".

I'm not saying he is Yriel, just that he still could be.

Great models though. Interesting that Beil-Tan, the craftworld with the most Aspect Warriors, is the one being featured. Could either mean some more plastic kits on the way, or could mean they don't want to and are getting rid of the CW of Aspects to make them less popular

Love the avatar and red guy. Look fantastic, I'm reserving judgement on the lady and cat, 360 view may do her more justice but she seems to be posed strangely.

What are we thinking on rules?

Will all of craftworld, dark eldar and harlequins be able to take them as an HQ like the imperium version? If so may well get some dark eldar physic powers!

Would be nice if they are similar points wise too.

Also wondering if this marks a slannesh theme to the next chaos release?!

Seriously though the Eldar god is going to inevitably be over shadowed by the reveal of the Ultimate Imperial Primarch Force and their combinable Imperator Titan "Super Complete Golden Throne Megaemperor".

Going on the Imperial Triumvate, there's no alternate load outs. Not exactly precedent, but perhaps suggestive this'lol follow suit,

I like all the models, but the Avatar of Ynnead is a must for me. I wonder what her rules are...

More like an Avatar on a giant fire bike, to show the Bloody Haned aspect of the Shining Spears

The title "Fracture of Biel-tan" to me suggests more of an ideological fracture (and maybe civil war).

(My own speculation below)
The Yncarne pose is very Harlequin like and seems based off of an old Jes Goodwin sketch. Yvraine practically screams Malys, and I'm guessing it will be one of the reveals, though one that I think everyone could see coming. Same goes for Visarch = Yriel.

My guess is that the Harlequins, Yriel, and Malys find or manifest Ynnead, or that fragment of it from Death Masque, and go about preaching the cause of Ynnead and unity of all the Eldar. The fragment is weak (for a god) and has some half-female/half-male aspects and horned aspects suggestive of Solitaires or Slaanesh. Biel-tan, the most militant and xenophobic of the Craftworlds, splits along ideological grounds with some rejecting working with the Dark Eldar, or suspecting this Yncarne is flawed or corrupted in some way by Slaanesh. Perhaps the Ynnead followers want something that traditionalists balk at, such as giving up their spirit stones for the Yncarne to consume in order to strengthen it. The Yncarne takes the stones by force anyway (as shown by it destroying the Eldar masonry) and triggers a civil war.

I could see this being an Eldar heavy supplement portraying something like WHFB's Sundering. The Eldar split, either following the promise of Ynnead, or remaining in their existing faction and dismissing this as either an abomination or at best a flawed premature version of what Ynnead was meant to be. Perhaps the Slaanesh-like aspects of the Yncarne result from whatever ritual led to its manifestation. The Harlequin Codex hinted that the Laughing God's plan involved tricking Slaanesh into using its power to save the Eldar instead of destroying them, so maybe some portion of Slaanesh's power was stolen or redirected to form the Yncarne?

Not sure if you want it to be Yriel. But if you do I really don't understand it.

If they completely overhaul the model so he looks nothing like he once did, including switching out all his signature gear then for all intense purpose they have eliminated prince Yriel. Seriously, you could take any fething model and name it Yriel and suggest it is them in the fluff but in reality all your doing is replacing a really awesome character. It's sort of like how in Transformers the animated movie we "gained" Galvatron... except we lost Megatron for that to happen.
