I like that the Swirly Stuff actually looks different from previous minis and that it shares elements with the rest of the model.

Also, how long (if ever) has it been since we've had a model for the Gyrinx?

I think my biggest complaint with the models are a couple things.

1) Gems stones are the new skulls... Seriously why does every inch of all three models need to be festooned with so many gems?

2) The mixing of the aethetics isn't very fluid, someone else said it earlier but these look like kit bashes because they don't have there own look rather a gestalt of other factions icons.

I would like the lady more if her corset wasn't so geometric, take another look at it, it is a solid flat plate. They should have had it follow the contour of her mid riff. It looks as if you took a spare eldar rune for basing and green stuffed it on front of her detailed waist. Otherwise she is my favorite of the group. I'll just carve that section down and sculpt something else there.

B) we cannot assume that Yriel would still have the Spear anyway. Maybe He and Veilwalker used it in some way to awaken this Avatar of Ynnead.
C) or maybe the Avatar of Ynnead took the spear and reforged it into a spear to give to Yriel as the "sword of Ynnead".

I'm not saying he is Yriel, just that he still could be.

Great models though. Interesting that Beil-Tan, the craftworld with the most Aspect Warriors, is the one being featured. Could either mean some more plastic kits on the way, or could mean they don't want to and are getting rid of the CW of Aspects to make them less popular

Not sure if you want it to be Yriel. But if you do I really don't understand it.

If they completely overhaul the model so he looks nothing like he once did, including switching out all his signature gear then for all intense purpose they have eliminated prince Yriel. Seriously, you could take any fething model and name it Yriel and suggest it is them in the fluff but in reality all your doing is replacing a really awesome character. It's sort of like how in Transformers the animated movie we "gained" Galvatron... except we lost Megatron for that to happen.

I don't really "want" it to be Yriel. I want there to be an 'official' half Eldar/half Dark Eldar character. Yriel already fits that bill and his fate has been left open.

Yeah the avatar has had a new model for a long rime. Quite confusing people simply use the archaic one as an example. The wonderful fw one is cheap compared to current prices.

There is no difference between the eldar and dark eldar race. They are all eldar, it's there life styles and culture that differ so I really don't understand this whole half breed crap that some of the community has been parroting. Vect literally was an eldar there at the fall, he didn't suddenly become a different race /end rant.

I am all for a new character just like you however, but I really don't want them to eliminate/alter previous characters until they are unrecognizable. I also think that id they want to make eldar characters that aren't specifically eldar or DE they should just make harlequin characters, seems odd to me not to since they are the thread that passes through ALL eldar.

If you walk into a GW store and ask for an avatar, which model do you think they're going to show you?

Forgeworld is a side range for collectors.

Since loads are saying it's yriel, I'm going different and going with the long lost master of the incubi.
Since we know it's not draz anyway.

Female has to be malys simply from the fan alone.
Pretty decent model too.
Shame I'll be buying the set because I want the grynx and selling the rest lol.

Big guy could also make a nice transcendent ctan for necrons with a bit of work.
Or a KoS that doesn't look like crap.

Either way, not a bad release but my only interests are from a painting POV.

30+ gems on visarch alone in that view, and i fear there is a bunch more hanging from the fur coat..

20-25 ish on the Yvraine with still half belt and cloak missing (she can still have even more than the Visarch , missing other side and seems her hair have some more )

Another 20+ on the Yncarne and considering there sould be alot more embebbed along the hair/spiral spirit expect it to hit another 30ish + gems

it's a fact soulstones are the new Skulls!!!

I really dig all of these models, especially the Avatar of Ynnead. I love that they went with a "redeemed Slaanesh" look to kind of portray that his birth is their redemption for The Fall. I'll probably pick it up to paint up the models, even though I don't play Eldar.

Nah I was just trying to make a joke reference to the complaints you generally hear on Marine models having skulls.

I count 47 gems on the red guy and 59 on the lady, on the plus side the cat seems to only have 1 lol.

Total pass on all three. They look like fantasy models, very AoS - ery. Where are the sci-fi elements to them?

Also concerned by the quick paced fluff changes - I'm having terrible flash backs to the end times. 4 months from now is Terra going to blow up as a plot device to resurrect the emperor?

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

Well considering Ynnead is the god of the dead, and Soulstones are repositories for the souls of the dead I would say it makes complete sense that his most devoted followers and his Avatar would have an inordinate number of them.

The lady looks far too imperial to me. She looks like an inquisitor. Perhaps Melindi hath duped the Eldar one last time.

Also the Newvatar looks male and female,. What are the odds that the background loses Slannesh as the Newvatar symbolizes the end of Slaneesh as a chaos god and is now truly an eldar god?

The Avatar, sure. But when the other two literally have twice the stones that the Avatar does, kind of overdone.

Nah, more likely Ynead is actively stealing eldar souls back from She Who Thirsts or at least there is some struggle overnew souls and due to that the souls are "touched" by Slaanesh thus altering the visage of the Avatar of Ynead.
