The combat patrol box is quite a good selection of minis but slightly overlaps with the Release box. These terminators are looking better and better every time I look at them.

I will be waiting to get all the characters and terminators once they are released on their own so its going to take a while before all is available to buy.

Seems a bit Overstuffed.
SM CP is 12 models.
BA CP is 17
Emperor's Children is 17 as well.

This rumor has 21.
I expected 5 Blood Claws, 5 Grey Hunters, WGBL, and maybe the Headtakers.

Bam, said the lady!

It certainly avoids confusion!

I do want those Wolf Guard Terminators, but I can't support the continued existence of those Wulfen models.

I have a bunch of spare intercessors, maybe i can kitbash with wulfen heads and arms on intercessor bodies? Quick googling shows that its not a bad look

Not that *I* can do it, but I imagine for many people it's rather trivial to find out what's in the Combat Patrol via the codex leaks and then Photoshop together preview pics.

Back in 3rd when i refused to pay the outrageous prices of the metal wulfen, I made an army of them by kitbashing marines with Beastmen gors. If you cut the muzzle of the beastmen off and shave it down, it gives them a flatter more wulfeny look. Although some of the beastmen heads are better for this than others, the least goatlike ones.

It was fun to make a combo loyalist/chaos armour component kitbash with muscled arms. Any poorly trimmed stuff just became battle damage. I used the old GW zombie reaching out hands to give them large grasping fingers. They looked the part.

Will Space Wolves have access to both Wolf Guard Terminators and regular Space Marine Terminators? If they were Chaos, they most certainly would not.

They will, just as the Dark Angels do.

Yeah, why tbe codex supplement concept is reserved exclusively for loyalist astartes and not chaos marines baffles my mind. TS, DG, WE, and EC should be codex supplements really.

Yeah, replacing the legs with regular marine legs would make a big difference. The faces would still be awful, but at least they wouldn't be dancing.

On the other hand, I seem to have reached an age where paying $105 for a 5-man box just to not use half of it is a less-than-appealing idea...

When it comes to Wolfen, I'm not surprised at how many people prefer 3rd party Wolfen. PopGoesTheMonkey makes some wonderful ones that look like actual werewolves in Marine power armor.

It gives them a chance to have different faction rules, like Cabal of Sorcerers, or to let certain units do different things entirely (like a Maulerfiend behaving differently in each book). Also, you don't have to tell each Legion what units they can't take - the list for the Thousand Sons would be huge...

Do they have to shave to wear helmets? They they just tuck their beards into their breast plates?

Or, as I suspect, are the absurd beards really just clip on hair extensions?

No kidding. Then I could still use my defiler, bikers, helbrute, and predators that have been an important part of my EC army since 3rd edition.

See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

This question is something that bothers 40k plsyers since 3rd Edition and the answer is always that NPC cannot get the same treatment as PC

While the tournament players would argue that there are already too many factions to balance so adding more is impossible to do for GW (but don't have a problem with a totally new faction as long as it beats everyone else at events)

Harry, bring this ring to Narnia or the Sith will take the Enterprise
