I did just like you asked Dave, and I kicked the wife's cat a little softer than usual. I think he really appreciated it. Seriously though, I had a wonderful and annoying Beagle-Basset Hound cross a few years backs. I still miss her curling up next to me on the couch.

Anyway. I like the cow-catchers on the feet idea! I hope that it is workable. I don't know if you were trying for it, but the driver has sort of a Steampunk Doc Brown from Back to the Future feel to him! You should name him something that starts with "Mad Doc", like Mad Doc Stevens or something like that!

The cow-catchers on the feet will definately work- I just have to figure out the feet. I want them to have the same ball-socket-type ankle joint as the sentinel, or something similar that would give stabilization on uneven terrain.

I'll have to remember that line for later.

Maybe look at something like the Dreadnought's feet where they have sort of little pistons to adjust them.

This also seemed relevant and hopefully gives something of an idea about movement.

I like the Dreadnaught claw-type feet, but I want to avoid anything looking-too anime-ish (large bell-bottom legs and such), I want this to look distinctly reminiscent of mid 19th Steam power, which means broad flat and round surfaces.

I am especially fond of this lovely mx of pinstriping and rivets

As do I, it is a nice combination.

Maybe this can help, looks like someone was designing some thing but didn't read up on it too much. Something about rebuilding a Dreadnought from Space Crusade.

Interesting to see how it turns out anyway.

that last feet looks like someone took a bionicle feet and build up from there...

This so fething cool the feet look brilliant great shape to them and somehow looks more SP for it

I have to disagree with you Vik It would loose something if the boiler was at the back, this way it resembles a steam train more so.

Although I do feel it could do with something at the back to balance it a little more, maybe a coal storage or something

Other wise this is a great little creation and as Max said i wish I had one as well

if a coal storage at the back...wouldn´t there be the need for a "filler"? someone to shovel the coal into the oven?

He could build a little conveyer belt at the side that takes it straight to the boiler ……. stop being picky Vik LOL

i like the conveyer belt idea...but i guess that would be a bit too much on that scale...and it would alter the look quite extreme...
