Yeah, Beasts are first quarter. Tomb Kings are the most probable to come out after them. There are vague rumours of Bretonnia after that, though I am calling `wish-listing' on these. Then again, I said Nids were wish-listing three months ago...

Necron are an outside chance for last quarter of 2010, but they only started them about four months ago, and an average Codex take 18-24 months to go from `we will do this' to `we are in your White Dwarf, emptying your wallet'. Plan on them for first quarter 2011 and if they come earlier, you will be pleasantly surprised. Besides, we all know someone will have to be bumped up so that Dark Eldar's `next year' can be pushed to 2011

For Death Company just use Legion of the Darned, for Dante use Shrike and for Assualt Squads just use FA assualt squads and Vanguard. You get 6 JP units that way. Really this ain't rocket science.

But as HBMC pointed out the Chaos dex might be better.

I think from a models standpoint, BTs look exactly like every other SM army.
Grey Knights are much more properly knightly imo, and they are actually distinguishable from regular SMs.

If you combined Dark Angels as seen in concept art, Grey Knights, and Black Templars, you would get an awesome army.

One thing I can tell you is that there will supposedly be new "gifty" type items in December as there has been for the past few years. However, I have not had a good tip on what those items are yet. Last year we got the bags for carrying hobby supplies and figure cases. Does anyone have a good lead on what specialty items they'll be releasing this coming December?

And weren't they useful. Super-expensive bags to carry your other bags in. The guy in marketing who came up with that probably got a raise, right alongside the guy who thought up the citadel paint pallet and the citadel water cup.

In light of that I'm putting my money on the Citadel Painting Chair and the Realm of Painting Painting Board, hard plastic 6 piece board that costs AUD$400 and is a great painting and cutting surface.

I didn't buy the carry bags from last year either. They look cool, but it's not something I really needed at all. I already have the Apocalypse backpack, a cooler item for my taste. I am still interested in seeing what they came up with for this year.

I don't imagine a lot of people did. Pretty ridiculous cost for a backpack if you ask me, and with a stupid tactical arrow on it. I'd rather have one of those $40 ones from The War Store, something that isn't quite so obviously a gamer bag.

The Amaaaaaaazing sellingpoint of the Citadel Cup is how well it meshes with the new colourcodes on the brushes. Now you can leave you brushes in the water and still recognize the right brush when you need it.

Us normal people will still use a regular coffecup for our brushes and use the time-honored tradition of looking at our brushes when telling them apart.

We saw a preview of plastic Storm Troopers last year, hence why people are talking about them. We also know there are more IG items coming over the next six months, just not what they are.

It appears 2010 will be a year in which Games Workshop puts a lot of resources into revamping and reintroducing Warhammer Fantasy Battle. There's a good possibility of a new version of the rules, which would also mean a new starter set and probably a lot of other supporting products as well.

No, we saw what people assumed were Storm Troopers. Last time I checked, the IG ST can not have Shotguns which the preview models did (and other options ST can't take). If they are still coming out, the models are more likely vet squads.

You're ignoring the fact that Inquisitorial Stormtroopers can take shotguns... this may be a consiquence of that or GW maybe assuming the shotgun will be used to make the squad veterans, giving the kit multiple utilities.

@Elric of Grans
I have been told that Tomb Kings are not coming out in 2010.

This frees up 3 quarters for a warhammer army or two. My guess at this point is that either Bretonnians or Ogres will be redone next year, not both. This will leave the remaining 3 armies to be redone in 2011, with a slot in the schedule for a new army next year some time.

2010 may be a Fantasy heavy year, possibly with a new rule book and starter set.

Based on that, I was speculating with a friend last night about what two armies would or should be included in the new WHFB starter set most likely coming next year. Battle For Skull Pass is a good set, but Goblins and Dwarfs are probably not the best or most iconic choices to sell Fantasy Battle to brand new customers. It didn't take us long to arrive at the conclusion that Bretonnians and Chaos Warriors would be the best choices for new, simple starter set plastics. Here are some reasons:
1) They are both human based armies which are generally more popular in pure sales volume, especially with beginners.
2) Bretonnians are an icon of good with their knights in shining armor and the other, Chaos, is a twisted, menacing flip side of that. Both are archetypes of what fantasy games are all about, especially Warhammer. Visually, these models explain themselves at a glance, making it easier to understand for the prospective beginners and therefore easier to sell for GW staff. Both armies are fairly easy to understand. I don't mean their rules, though that is also true. I mean the armies themselves. For prospective new fantasy game customers it can sometimes be difficult to understand the underlying concepts behind the models and associated games. These armies are easy to understand at a glance as visually they are Knights and Evil Knights, something not too hard to grasp for complete novices to the hobby. The ability to describe these armies in simplistic terms without much knowledge of underlying myth and legend makes them easy to market to people unfamiliar with fantasy literature or games.

The problem with Brets & Chaos is that you can't get as many models in the box.

Still, good suggestion!

Now how about Brets vs Skaven???

Il

!) GW likes to stuff a lotta models into those boxes to make at least 1 good item in their inventory
2) they like some ranged warfare to show sides of both types of combat

I would think it would be skaven (there new) and empire
somewhat fluffy yet generic enough

but im still hoping for some oddball O&G stuff to come out the doomwheel keeps looking like a pumpwagon as of late

Some of you need to frequent other forums.

Those ST greens were never confirmed or denied as 3ups for new minis. They could have been test sculpts for a new sculptor for all anyone knows, like the recent Tallarn greens are. Also, I think it was Phil from GW, said at GDUK that new ST's will not be coming out for at least another year.

One from Warseer -
First reports back from Games Day UK indicate that both Phil Kelly and Robin Cruddace apparently said there will be no new Storm Troopers for a while longer (not for another year at least was the gist) but they did not deny that the project was under way.

There are others out there with similar lines from the same GW people.

The Fortress is in the Christmas pricing catalog.

Not to be a reiteration of threads long discussed, discussed again, mused over, seated on the shelf, gathered dust, rehashed, refurbished, retired, brought out of retirement, brought up again, and again, signed off on, stamped, double stamped, triple stamped, filed, buried in top soil, stirred with peat moss, made to grow daisies, decomposed, exumed, displayed, dated, reread, ignored and rising from the grave, but....

WHEN THE HELL ARE THE FRIGIN DAEMONS GOING TO GET ALL OF THEIR FRIGIN MODELS, I AM TIRED OF READING "EARLY NEXT YEAR" IN THREADS FROM FRIGIN OCT 2008.

Well... finally got that off my chest, whew.
