I think there's a lot of wishlisting after Feb (Nids)

Where did the rumor about BA coming out in 2010 come from? Space Hulk? That's barely convincing to me.

I imagine the Blood Angels rumour was a result of Space Hulk, the fact they need a new codex really quite badly and that there are currently no other Space Marines codices on the go and they would be the next logical one i reckons...
Its all rumour so far though, however it is a likely and very believable rumour so...

There's also a post that GW has pulled BA stuff from shops and the ordering system. That's usually a sign.

Which is ridiculous since anyone can make a perfectly good BA force using Shrike and UMs.

Actually last week my local GW store got an email saying that they wont be recieving any new tyranid boxes or battleforces. The race is very popular there and its the only reason i can see for them to stop supplying tyranids. Also blood angels have been direct order at my store since it opened 3 years ago..

On the other note, the blackshirt at the store said he would bet a pretty penny on necrons since their the most broken army in the game ( i havn't seen a necron army play in 8 months)

And kid stope saying you can make blood angels with shrike!! you get no DC no assault squads as troops, no baal preds, no furioso dreds, and no dante!

Well, that makes sense, doesn't it? "Tyranids are pretty popular here and sell very well, so we should STOP SELLING THEM!"

If only they'd do that with Marines.

Anyway, I doubt it has much to do with your store in particular, since you can't buy Tyranid codices/battleforces online, either.

I think it was redsun who said not long ago that GW sometimes seems to have a great fear of making money. Situations like this really highlight that.

Check Warseer or Bolter and Chainsword; this is pretty old news. Phil Kelly confirmed at a Games Day earlier this year he was working on them after finishing Space Wolves. He also dropped the hint that he will be giving them Jump Packs.

EDIT: added quote.

Templars DO NOT need a new dex, tbf they don't need any kind of dex, they're just background, the most they need is to be one of four lists in a campain book, only problem is that GW tends to stop supporting campain books.....

Jeez! thats -ed up! necrons need a new dex as bad as DH if not more! It makes no sense to me that they would redo nids before crons. it seems like we just got a new nids dex. The only out of date rule i can think of is thornback. DE need a faccelift pretty bad too. Much more so than nids.

There is solid mention of Beasts of Chaos in this months White Dwarf.

Side panel mentions the studio singing 'if you go down to the woods today'. Teaser in the same vein as the ones on Space Wolves and Skaven. So I would guess maybe January/February?

Is not a bad issue either.

Lots on Space Wolves, new stuff for LotR (mainly Easterlings) and an article I am yet to read about the application of Special Characters in Fantasy.

MDG,
Do they show the SW Terminator sprue by any chance?

Nope, but there is a breakdown of the Wolf Pack sprues.

Later on, they have an article about the Studio's favourite Terrain pieces, including a rather nifty Skaven Warlock's Tower, which they promise to go into more in the next issue.....Quite looking forward to that, as apart from the contraption on the top, it all looks fairly straight forward.

Thanks, MDG. Good to hear about Beasts of Chaos getting teased for (what I would assume to be) January.

Are all the studio's favourite terrain pieces made from Official Games Workshop Terrain?

And really, there's an article talking up special characters? What a freakin' surprise.

On a serious note, looking forward to what they are doing with Tyranids, my wife hasn't played them in months due to the codex not preforming against my CSM, now Orks.

Actually, from a models standpoint, properly Knightly Space Marines are a concept well overdue.

I really like Black templars, my favorite SM army by far. but seeing as they just gave us SW, they can stick BT on the back burner for a bit. Crons and DE and inq deserve a new codex more.

I agree.. My objection is due to GWs inability to produce books fast enough

The Black Templar Codex is perfect example of perceived sales driving the Codex design process and the design lag within the dev team. Templars were powerful in Codex: Armageddon.

The bean-counters no doubt saw this, so an entire Codex was commissioned for them including a whole new upgrade sprue, plus an expensive 'let's try to be like Forge World' sprue with vehicle doors for Rhinos and Land Raiders.

Graham McNeil then writes the Codex, but it's not as unbalanced as the Armageddon version, and it makes some pretty large rules changes, often the complete opposite of the previous list. Moreover, it's 4th Ed now, not 3rd, so the power that they once had has changed anyway, so the army the bean counters wanted to keep selling (3rd Ed Templars) doesn't even exist any more!

End result? The Codex is essentially a flop, GW puts loads of money into making a Land Raider and Rhino door sprue (something they haven't done since, instead going with the far more sensible icons to stick on doors) and McNeil's gets canned as a Codex writer and now writes BL books only.

Is it any wonder this one hasn't been updated yet?
