Subject: Resources for conversion and detail modelling -- Bits, bases, conversion parts, supplies, tools.
Ramshackle, I love them so much. Such cheap nice orky vehicles bursting with character even if lacking in the detail depart. Though their casting system is a bit dodgy sometimes.
If you like very fine display stuff, here's your supplier. Nice prices from a lot of companies. A lot of busts and dioramas as well as display bases and display basing kits.
Most of the others have been already put or are wargame specific (See below).
A few nice miniature ranges from small game suppliers. Some of them make nice monster/character/specialist subs if you like variety. Also some make nice display miniatures. Or if your even burgeoning to start a small time game.
Hell Dorado: fantasy stuff mostly. Though dominated by their awesomely scary demon range. That One Of Wrath would make a mighty Bloodthirster and that Succubus a pretty cool herald of Tzeenntch. Though never forget their other factions too. They have quite a bit of character too.
Bane Legions: A very nice range filled with very some very good WHF monster subs as well a a very good KOS sub that looks quite suspiciously like the FW one only with a chaotic bra. No inspiration there methinks.
I apologise for any repeats on suppliers. I had a fast look through the thread but I might have missed a few.

God, there's some cheap plastic bases. I know where I'm getting bases for any further armies I might start.
Good site mate.

Hi there, you seem to know where to get a heck of a lot of stuff. I was wondering if you had any idea where to find 28 scale tools like hammers, drills, ratchets and wrenches etc?
If anyone could help I would really appreciate it

Anvil Industries
http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/ An excellent range of not bolters, shotguns and accessories for them to include scopes, silencers and underslung grenade launchers as well as other conversion bits. They also have Steam Lords which are pretty good looking not Marines.
Defiance Games
http://www.defiancegames.com/ Upstart company with Colonial Marine looking minis already out, bugs about to come out, and probably more IG stand in minis coming down the pipe in the future.
It's an ugly planet. A bug planet.

Anyone know where I can find some suitable 28MM female guard?

For UK convertors, these eBay stores are my go-to sources for GW bitz, I've ordered from them all numerous times with no problems. Most will generally be a bit short on xenos parts, but you can't have everything eh.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Valhalla-Gaming - HUEG stock of Marine bitz, and has reasonable amounts of Guard parts semi-regularly, but I primarily shop here because he does FW bitz, and restocks on new FW stuff fairly often. Always ships really quickly as well.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bmfbits - another hefty stock of Marine bitz, typically I check here if my other regulars don't have what I'm after in that regard.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/the-bitz-store - loads of stuff on this one, a broader range too, including xenos parts stocked on a semi-regular basis, decent range of Warhammer Fantasy bitz as well.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/From-Fire-and-Flame - less useful for bitz this one, as it's a pain to navigate, but it's absolutely awash with OOP minis from almost every GW range, and you occasionally run across a good deal on some secondhand minis which is always a bonus.

I cant get enough of the stuff over at wargamesbakery. Some of their bases are insane - dice coming out of the earth!?! You've gotta be in the UK to get stuff from them tho, so im alright!
WargamesBakery (28mm) - UK http://www.wargamesbakery.co.uk/index.html Resin bases for round stuff ive got loads of these! (40k, necromunda etc), square stuff (WFB etc) and DS/Round Edged stuff (Warmachine etc) ive got even more of these than i have round ones!
Interestingly they do dramatic hero base packs (2 or 3 bases) and unit base sets (5 or 10 bases) - nice idea!
Scenery kits and very good conversion parts - parapets, industrial barrels, shields, doors, traffic cones, tank traps, you name it...

Just want to echo this post; I've had lots of cool kit from Anvil Industry and I'm really pleased with their service as well.

It is in the same family of materials as MDF, but being LDF it is lighter and can be cut with hand tools more readily. It is more durable than card stock (not quite as stiff as press board, but it won't delaminate on you). One of the cool things is as shown in the video, you can shape it into simple and compound curves very easily. Once shaped (and dried) give it a few coats with an enamel primer to seal it against moisture and then you can paint with regular acrylics.
Comes in 1/32, 1/16, 3/32 and 1/8" thicknesses - which is a pretty good range for terrain building. I use it for a lot of detail stuff and organic shapes, it is a good option for those who don't have the capabilities to heat form thicker plastics.

Bitz-Glaxy (28mm)
http://stores.ebay.ie/Bitz-Galaxy 40k & fantasy bits and accessories
Considerably cheaper marine helms than I've found elsewher. Browsing through their other stuff, it doesn't seem cheap, but offset by good international shipping rate for multiple items.
"Combined Shipping Cost on Bits:
Australia - 1st Bit $1.50 All Bits After the 1st are FREE
International - 1st Bit $4.00 All Bits After the 1st are FREE"
