Other, I don't paint other than very rarely and I haven't even attempted my vehicles yet because I can't paint for toffee; good battle-damage, like highlights, blending etc. are far beyond my skill level.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I play orks, which affords mw the opportunity to go to town: rust, grime, soot, bullet holes, dents, jury-rigged repairs, added scrap and plates, etc., etc.

The "scrap heap" look is something I enjoy about Ork vehicles....

I can`t decide in which state it would be in worse repair, fixed buy orks, or halp destroyed?

For my Tau I prefer to have the "roughed up" look, and for my Nurgle army I like the "half destroyed" look. I have never really cared for the "factory fresh" look. This is a universe where there "is only war". Things aren't going to look new for very long.

Like it to look like it's been around the block a few times but nothing that indicates poor maintenance or acquiescence to my opponent's ability to blow it up.

I make mine factory fresh. Mainly because I'm bad at painting and can't do those nice little details. If i tried the model would just look worse.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

I find that grit and weathering adds another layer of depth to a model.

I find "factory fresh" models often look too toy-like and flat tbh...

I have yet to paint a vehicle... I'd probably just make it real vanilla for now... and when I get better I'll add some flavor in the form of mudsplatter and scratches... maybe some bullet holes... or is that Lasgun holes?

More so for my Orks. Although I've not really gone overboard with my Ork vehicles yet, but I intend to with my next Land Raider inspired Battle Wagon.

only one of my leman russ tanks have scratched armor, but they both have mudcovered tracks. infact all of my tanks have mud covered or dusty tracks, but my Chimera has the most battle damage, because it brings troops to the fight. my Bassilisk does have some chipped metal and gunpowder residue on the gun though.

But I prefer them to be just dusty.

A few chips here and there, the occasional mud spatter and heat damage where it may occur. Rarely I might put an actual hole on the vehicle. I don't want to spoil the vehicle by putting too much damage on it

I play Necrons so I only have Monoliths, but I chose Factory Fresh because I always paint them very shiny to illustrate the fact that it's Living Metal that can smooth over damage.

I play an IG combined veteran armoured regiment, so I do quite a lot of weathering and battle damage to individualize my many tanks. Stuff like shell glances, bolter damage, solid slug holes, crew repairs, crew modifications, soot and army wide heavy mud are very common, depending on the type of tank.

Depends. I have 4 factions, and I do:

Necrons: zero damage, living metal.
Space Marines - chipped paint on the edges, dust & dirt on the tracks. My thinking is these guys have servitors to clean up the vehicles fairly constantly, so I don't envision them having more then a battle or two's worth of damage. My Blood Ravens are slightly more damaged then Ultras.
CSM: Same as Space Marines, only substitute "slaves" for "servitors".
Orks: not finished until they are beat up pretty bad.

no such thing as factory fresh for orks, waste of f*n time. Throw some plates on it, paint it red, and write waaaagh somewhere. If it ain't missin a gun or a wheel, it's good enough!!

“Well, what do you carry the gun for if you’re just going to waste bullets?” Timer reloads his Boomer as Forling fires his Shrapper.
“I may ‘ne be a good shot Timer, but I don’t miss much from this close up with my hammer,” Forling continues to fire.
“All the enemies are good and far away so what the hell does that…” Timer looks up to see Forling giving him an angry stare. “Oh, yea, ok, um, good shooting.”
