I would agree with that. Also think about some arial catwalks and cranes/pumps etc to hang from the roof to give some more LoS blocking as well as more places to hide/etc.

Awesome stuff Munda I wish I had your talent or ingenuity then maybe I could offer some decent suggestions.

Maybe for some of your other boards you can build them to resemble some of the available territories that gangs get. Maybe a makeshift open-market.

I have to say that I love Necromunda, and this project you have going is AWESOME!!!! That is some great terrain, and Terrain is ESSENTIAL for good Necromunda campaigns.

Great stuff! If you paint like you build, this is going to be awesome!

I like the thorough approach you're taking to building it all. They're almost like architectural models.

hahahaha actually i was thinking of putting a mutie dance in the club for gaks and giggles... like a slaanesh or something. but i'm not sure about it yet. but i'll post some pictures of the strippers i found and want to use. i was thinking i would chain them to the walls like slaves just toadd that little extra.

I'm liking this board quite a bit, Munda. I particularly like the building with the round doors, especially the broken corners and the bullet holes. There is something about the way you have built that structure that just looks so right.

It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, but are you using foamcore for the architectural detail on these buildings?

I love the idea of a mutie strip club BTW. If you think in terms of that world, suitably strange and erotic ( and harmless) mutations, especially on the female population, would probably be fetishized by the local population, even if they DID cast her out of their community outside the walls of the club.

One thing I would suggest that I think is missing from the buildings so far is power. The detail work on your buildings is so perfect, you should think about taking it to the next level and setting up practical lighting that would exist on these buildings. Not really lighting them with LEDs, per say, but just setting up lamps or light above the doors.

Your work reminds me of an Inquisitor Table that showed up in WD back when that game was newly released. One of the things that made that board stand out was the use of wires, like plant wire, to look like cables running back and forth between buildings. This gave the board a very chlaustrophobic feel that would work wonders for what you have going here. I'll try to come up with the number of that WD for you.

Looking forward to seeing more!

This is pretty freaking awesome. Love the close confines. I would really like to do something similar for the interior of an Imperial Navy ship, switching out the streets for corridors.

It looks absolutely fantastic, especially the strip club. The sewage plant is really taking me back to Dark Forces 2, specifically the Nar Shadaa level for some reason. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

I agree with the pipe and wire suggestion, though you're obviously going whole hog with this so why not light it with LEDs?

+ 1 to both statements. A tri-boob would just make this all the more epic. A few "Twists" would fit into the seedy strip joint, I think. Maybe as patrons at the bar?

hahahahaha now i just might have to make the tri boob just cause it seems so popular. and as far as the pipes and wires between the buildings yeti, i had thought about that and decided that it would just make game play and moving your figures much harder and some one would end up breaking them. and yeah i've built pretty much this whole thing out of 1/8 in foamcore.

and anyone thats thinking about taking a a project similar to this feel free to let me know and i can give you ALOT of advise. when i've completely finished this piece i'm going to write an in dept article on it so that anyone can get a pretty good base for starting something like this.

and all together i've spent $40 to make this 16"x32" piece. you cant tell me thats not deals! but in the next few pieces i'm making for my board i'm definately going to use plastic card. i've been looking on the net and have seen some of the stuff people are doing with that. i think it's going to make everything 10x better.

but i've been out of town for a week, and am going to be out of town for another week so you wont get any updates on anything new tell next weekend. prolly going to start painting. thanks guys

A nod to Total Recall is indeed needed if you've got a strip joint. Outstanding level of craftsmanship as always Munda.

I've only just come across this thread. That was some pretty sweet terrain you made, I'd definitely follow this thread if you started making more. I love Necromunda, shame I haven't played it in over a year as we've just been playing 40k. This thread has inspired me to get my finger out and make some of my own terrain

This is a cool thread to discover dredged up from the depths. Really great building skills. If you ever do make a new Necromunda board make sure to post it here. Reminds me of this project from the galleries, also didn't get finished by the looks of things: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-12179-2586_Modular%20Necromunda%20Board.html

Perhaps that can be some inspiration/motivation.

That is some fantastic terrain, I wish there were pics of the finished piece...

I know what you mean about getting inspired, there is so much going on right now, painting- and modeling-wise, it's so hard to keep up!
