[quoteyriel-]So?
Ours look different.
Should I stop sculpting stuff just because someone else has done something similar?
Heck, then nobody would ever sculpt anything anymore, why do orks and elves when tolkien already did them and a gakload of sculptors and companies are selling their own equivalents.

Also, why do FW make shoulderpads when GW already made a shoulderpad?

I dont think he meant any offense, I think he was just trying to point out that there IS competition for this style of jump pack.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

Would it be possible to also sculpt a cabled cuirass to signify the extra attachment of the pack to the armour?

Pyriel, time to go back into your sculpting cag.. er room.

Dunno, most assault marines have the harness on the torso, hopefully that will suffice.

Some variants woiuld be good - jump packs are visually very prominent, and so dozens of the same jump pack in an army would be visually a little dull. But I realise you'll want to see how sales on these go first...

These are absolutely brilliant. They look perfect as is! I will definitely purchase a set of 10.

The detail is tremendous, though I think the scalings a bit off. The marine would fall down or be hunched over 24/7.

No, I bought them from Maxmini, they're resin and come in packs of 5 for around $7-$8 dollars plus shipping. I just had to make a squad when I saw them, even if Skyclaws aren't all that great in game.

yeah but those look like crap compared to what he sculpted....

Don't forget the age old 40K solution to anything too big or bulky... "it's got suspensors built in"
What am I talking about?! A jump pack is just one great big suspensor, so once switched on it wouldn't actually weigh anything anyway.

Not sure how this would be done, really.

And aren't all the current 'modern' Space Marine Jump Packs identical?

I don't think it is an issue, actually.

These will be OK looking as if they were mass produced!

I dont know why some people say the marines wouldnt be able to carry it..

I mean seriously, these are the same marines that carry devastator backpacks that are as large as themselves and heavy weapons that probably weigh more then a car..

If you don't like huge jump packs then you wont believe a Thunderhawk can fly, and that makes the Emperor sad.

Lol, yeah like thunderhawk flying bricks

Probably right abut the suspensors too, Abnett described jump packs in the Gaunts series as that at least.

Those really do look fantastic. At the right price point (read: anything not obscene) I'd order a set of ten, and I don't currently own an MEQ army!

Pyriels best work so far. Excellent (and for the first time in history Chapterhouse actually beats MaxMini).
I like them large. Old tech should be bulky.
If I was a Marine player I would buy some (and I might end up buying anyway).

Keep up the good work.
