Could we have a close up of the "window" of the whirlwind pattern walker? Is there a "dead" marine in there?
Really like these a lot.

Here you go...

...the Whirlwind is actually piloted by a living Marine, I just painted him that colour to make it look like he was bathed in the glow from various instruments and screens in the cockpit.

Hi everyone, does the article I wrote look ok in your web browsers (i.e where there are 3 photo's next to each other do they all fit or does one drop to the next line?)...I am looking at it on my work laptop from a site now and it doesn't look the way I intended it to.

Also, does my Avatar show?

Cheers

Wouldn't that make it harder to paint on a model? I found it difficult painting letters clearly and thinly enough which is why the R and the I look more like an N. Granted, if I had put a little more space between the letters it would have been better.

Awesome work on the article. Those Mech Preds are cool looking. The Pics came out greats and the way you wrote the article was very clear.

Good Job Cypher.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

These are cool. If GW actually made walkers like this, I might want to play Marines...

Great work. And I like the green-light Marine in the cockpit. Great lighting work.

For chaos they would be daemon possessed or have a pilot like the penitent engines of the SoB...

Skarboy, don't be put off just because it's a Marine conversion...do what Orks do best LOOT IT!

Personally I think that this conversion could see legit use in any Marine, Ork, Imperial or Chaos army. Tau and Eldar are already masters at utilising bi-pedal war machines and would see it as clunky and Tyranids...well they'd just eat it.

Article is pure win. I'm working on doing a walker using defiler parts for the legs and stuff. Possibly the next step for your tech chapter would be a walker like that?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Yeah, I thought about it for a while as a troop transport option but dismissed it as not really Marine enough. It would be great for Chaos though.

Cypher, I just gotta say your modeling skills are incredible. My mind is just swimming with the possibilities for my chapter specifically that I'd never even considered before... Wow. Thanks.

Thanks guys...keep your eyes peeled, as the article for the Predator's is seemingly a hit I have decide to bite the bullet and do one for the Whirlwind too. I am just in the process of purchasing the bits I need. It won't happen for a while yet mind.

I also have an idea for a Rhino/Razorback 'SkyHook' or 'Dropship' transporter (I haven't decided on the title yet - both terms are pinched - Skyhook is the name from the CIA's Surface To Air Recovery System - STARS and Dropship refers to a retailing practice of sending items from a manufacturer directly to a customer ).

This will be similar to the Thunderhawk Transporter but smaller and not of the same design...I think the Thunderhawk is butt ugly...I like being original so I will have to put some serious thought into it. The Valk will be providing various bits like the engines and wings but it will be styrene card for the most part I reckon
