The BBC had Brian Blessed on before the match in a geeing up segment.
It was a pure waste of Brian. I hope the England team apologizes to him.

I liked the third German goal, because it ended any comments on whether 'we woz robbed' or not.
after that I just relaxed knowing that my football jingo had expired only to be briefly rekindled in the closing minutes.
I didnt want Germany to win 5-1, that score is privileged. Automatically Appended Next Post: halonachos wrote:How dare though support the fascists! Germany is definitely NOT where its at unless you are talking about oppressive censoring in which case yes that is where its at.
Germany isnt 'fascist', stop your crowing.

What???
Anyway
We had a goal disallowed.
Maybe we shouldn't have let two in before half time or let two more in afterwards.
Maybe our problem is that we do not half 'world class' talent. We keep hearing that our players maybe world class but lets be honest when have we ever seen this supposed brilliance on the international stage? (and I mean international not European cup performances or premiership).

It's simply because when those players are brought together in a team, they don't play as a team, they play for the individual.

Your making out the "international stage" to be more than it is. Both the premiership and the champions league are much harder stages than the world cup.
England have good players. A few great players. Which they have proven at club level, which is as I say a harder level.
I'd go as far as saying the the top half of the premiership could badly beat every team in the world cup, including Brazil, Spain whoever. They play every week in and out together, they don't meet up once every month for a football match they couldn't be bothered about like international teams.

Fair play to Germany, they played well. We didn't. I still maintain that we have good players, but if they can't play together as a team then they don't deserve to win anything. The Germans played as a team and fully deserved their win. Well done.

By the way it's not all bad people, we're beating the Aussies 3 nil in the cricket at the moment. I actually left the pub this afternoon half way through the England match (after 3-1) to go and watch it. Much more civilised stuff, and something to cheer about at least.

Sounds like a solid move, except that itys cricket. Watching cricket is to me as close to purgatory as one can get in this life. I would rather do time, in fact there are similarities.
Cricket has about as much action as line fishing.

Thanks for the match, friends. Germany - England is always great fun, no matter how the match ends. It's just a shame that FIFA won't allow a fifth referee or video evidence as to whether goals are regular or not.
Nonetheless, you owed us that one revenge for Wembley!

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k
If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.
Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

To be honest, I thought that Dempsey "overdid it" a bit. I know he did take a few hard elbows and fists to the face but still, he seems to go down a bit too easy for my likes.
