well I found my keen again, it was hiding in the dirty laundry



bomb bay doors they open you know, problem is now i have to build a rack of bombs



here's the light up console for the cockpit, basic structure is complete now i have to put a perspex glass on it and then paint some detail on it, ohh and finish everything else

this one isn't as bad, you can see the electric engine hiding in there soon to be sealed away under a skin of plastic



this part of the fuselage was a real pain to add a skin to.... lots of complicated cuts



it's still fun to fly it round the room making dakka dakka noises

well now to do a little bit more, once i have finished the first skin and the cockpit area I'll add detail and arnour plates and orky stuff.

Why didn't you just go whole hog, and konvert an actual flying model plane into a Fighta-Bomba?

Because I didn't think of it.... but now you've mentioned it.... Next time my precious. I wonder if i could actualy get a flying model in this scale/size?????

the edges are square, well very boxy, they're just pointy boxes.... yeah done a little more tonight but not enough for photo's

well I said there would be progress.... I have added a lot more of the skin and a cockpit



the cockpit is removeable so I can get and paint all the fiddly bits. The pilot is from the deff kopta i had to do a fair amount of hacking and cutting but it seems to have worked out well..... and his head is around here somewhere?????

I think it needs more gubbinz and patchinz!

well I'm painting the screens infront of him to resemble buttons and little vidoe monitors but I know what you mean about the cockpit looking a bit sparse... there will be gubbins and armour plates and rivetts by the metrik crap-tonne once I have finished the first layer of skin on the airframe... I have kept most of the annoying little offcuts and they're all going to be bolted on then we have the weapons and exausts and jet turnbines and this and that ohhh and some monkeytroll inspired hydraulics on the bomb bay doors....

My main goal was to challenge myself and finish a project that half my brain said I'd never be able to do and so far I'm not sure which bit of my brain is winning there's still a lot to do and some of the hardest stuff is still infront of me.

what do you guys think about the cockpit interior does it need more gubbins, switches and levers in there or should i get on and paint the little fracker up?

Yeah it turns out that tiny light bulbs are just as inifficient as real light bulbs so that explains where all the power was going, so unless I want my bomber to be hooked up to mains voltage I have to replace all the light bulbs with LED's....... which has meant breaking the bulbs and cleaning up the glass...
