That page is so off that it's not even funny. IA 6 puts the Reaver at 22,3 meters tall.
Why do people ALWAYS, without fail, get the size of Titans wrong? I just don't get it.

Different sources say different things and not everyone has access to IA? I look on Wiki and it tells me 25, 40, 60, and 80-150. You guys tell me 15, 22, 40 and 60. I am going to believe the source I saw with my own eyes.

And what exactly are the sources? That so-called Wikia doesn't reference anything directly, they just go "oh, it's in these books, promise!". That's hardly a source.

If it says anything it is a source. It may not be good one, buit the people who know squat will believe it, and everyone is more likely to trust a piece of info they have read, rather than a person the don't even know, or have never seen. Just saying.

Oh, ok. That is a Chaos Titan. They have Warlords with tails. Standard Emperors have no CCWs, because they are too large, and it is impracticle to give them large CCWs, whcih they only use vs Gcs and SHVs, which they can easily destroy far out of range of the enemy's weapons.

Lexicanum says that the Height of Warlords isn't consistant in GWs fluff, with the lowest official heights being 33 meters, and the highest being 200 meters.
this just illustrates the need for GW to come out with a book about equipment to give official heights and other technical specifications. a Tech Manuel.
I can garuntee such a thing would fly off the shelves and make tons of money. It would also give us some closure on these contentious issues.

That would work, assuming the models are all true scale to each other.

Im reading Mechanicum right now and it does seem to state that (depending on the titan) they can take a less than a decade for warhound, while warlords and imperators take at least a century, especially if its the head titan of a legio. While all the models of titans are still in production I kinda doubt that they would really be making Imperators anymore and in all likelyhood lost the technology to do so. I mean the imperium is just a corpse-worshiping, weak-knee lapdogs that arent even fit to lick the boots... but I digress (sorry, I play chaos. It shows every so often)

Titans are still in production.
It takes decade S, if not centuries, to build them. Titans are perhaps the most sacred of all Mechanicum technologies, while they could probably power through and build them in a shorter period of time, there is a lot of pomp, circumstance, and ceremony involved in the construction.
They are carried in their assembled state by specialized transports, and deployed planetside either by huge dropships or what are basically titan sized drop pods.
Way back when titans, used to have anti air defenses, nowadays not so much. In terms of anti-orbital weaponry, no not so much, they lack the range and power to be of any significance to space vessels.

Barely scratch? Honestly I think it'd be devastating to a Cruiser if it scored a direct hit, at least crippling it. It'd definetly significantly weaken the void shields on a Battleship too. Large warships are destroyed all the time by torpedoes in 40k, nevermind those giant things specifically designed to rip through capital ships.
You'll note that large warships are destroyed all the time by torpedoe S and not by a torpedo. One torpedo isn't really going to do anything at all in gameplay terms and in fluff terms.
Sharkvictim wrote:Titans are slowed big. From what I have gleaned from the quivering biomass of the internet is that there is no set dimensions on Titans v. scale. 40k is desperately in need of a tech manual for things like that. I'd pay 50 bucks for a big-ass hardcover with nothing but weapon/ship/titan specs in it sprinkled with little fluff bits.
No, the dimensions are pretty set in stone... see Apocalypse for a pretty clear indication of how big they are in relation to a guardsman. The perception that there is no set dimension comes from the fact that for a very long time there was a lot of contradicting information and no single clear source.

The dimensions of Titans are NOT set in stone, yet. official GW materials are all over the place with their heights.
You should know that the models aren't proper scale to each other. Warhound models are slightly smaller then they are supposed to be, not by much, but they are still off. and the Warlord size comparason is for Table Top representation, it isn't meant to be a true representation of its size. Guardsmen are far too large compared to Space Marines and Vehicles are all wonky.

While you are correct that model wise the size comparisons are invalid, diagrams in an Apoc book are not models. The primary source for canon material is the design studio, if a publication by the design studio indicates a certain size for a titan, then that is how big that titan is until it is overwritten by a more recent source. In any case, the design studios information is corroborated by Forgeworld.

Emperor Titans do sometimes have close-combat weapons. Chaos Titans are merely corrupted Imperial ones. The armaments remains very similar.

The fluff for titan ccw got retconned.
Back in the 90s, when the game Adeptus Titanicus came out, any titan (even an emperor) could be fitted with a wide variety of ccws, like tridents, flails, powerfists, seismic rams, fusion maces, etc.
However, in the more recent fluff concerning titans (HH books, apocalypse articles), emperor titans are meant to be long-range weapon platforms, designed to hammer the enemy from afar (so no ccws).
