Any word on whether or not FW will sell those sponsons seperately so that you could attach them to a regular predator kit?

Those converted Termies look great, but then, so does the original. I've recently found mine (sans back banner, of course). I've got to figure out how to base him now. He's got a 25mm slotta, though I'll want to base him on a 40mm, but then again since they're old, rare models now, I don't want to clip off the slottas. Perhaps I'll cut a slotta into some 40mm bases. It precludes them having "heroic" poses like the Termies above, but it might be the best option... Those sponsons are designed to specifically fit onto the older-mark Rhino side plates, if you look carefully. You'd have to do some work to get them to fir into the standard square-side-door rhino hatch-hole.

more Fimir:
along with the following message:
As no-one managed to guess correctly (!), our three-part tease was in fact a Fimir Warrior, and we’ll be releasing these dread creatures in a set of three during the first quarter of 2012. You can see the completed jigsaw below along with a shot of the unit to whet your appetite, and rules for these detailed resin models will be featured in the forthcoming Warhammer Forge Monstrous Arcana book.
dont know who they asked but a good number of us guess fimir

Fimir are back. Hmmm, *sudden thoughts strike him on finally realizing that 3-d Heroquest board with updated and current GW figures for the old plastics* I did need a project for 2012.
I also require an Omega eventually, that tank is a thing of beauty.

I like this predator. The sponsons are vasly better then GWs usual faire (though they should be armored to a much greater degree). If these things didn't have smoke stacks coming out of their smoke stacks they'd be dramatically better then the actual GW models by a fair stretch.

I believe the very first plastic Fimir that were in Advanced HeroQuest or something like that were on 25mm squares (but were kinda big).
Then they became Monstrous infantry after that and have been Ogre sized ever since.

They were only in the standard heroquest box - you got 4 heroes, men-at-arms and skaven in the AHQ box (along with some niffty single-player rules for those of us that needed them).
They came out in metal first though.
I believe that upto now these 2 releases were the only Fimir released.

Whenever Fimir are mentioned the confusion over their size soon follows...
I think the 28mm sized Heroquest ones are supposed to be correct, and the ogre sized ones were a mistake. But now it seems that the oversized ones have been accepted as canon by Forgeworld. If anyone would like to correct me as to the cause of the sculpting differences in the earlier Fimir miniatures, feel free.

There was a miscommunication to the designer of the fimir range that ended up making them up to the ogre size. Once it happened, they were officially 'retconned' to that size - they were small on a 40mm base at that time but being that they were always supposed to be much larger than orcs, and given how much orcs have increased in size, the upping to 40mm bases was actually fortuitous and is now accurate.
(they were strongly based on fomorian sea demons, who'sleader, Balor, had only one eye - as such, being larger creatures seems appropriate to me).
