Would you give him a staff or a sword? And do the attack bikes come with multi meltas?

Everything I keep seeing shows the bikers coming with melta guns...if that's the case I have EVERY piece of this as long as the attack bikes come with multi meltas and the bikes come with melta guns.

i believe the Attack bike does come with the multi melta. Yea usually you can get a pretty good response on here when it comes to trades. some people will be suspicious since its ur first trade. I'm goin through the same right now.

Well, my Lgs has been great to me about helping me whenever possible so I'm going to him first like I always have even though it's an hour drive for me =/ (not so local =[) and try there first. I saw you have a bunch of stuff up you getting rid of your dark angels or was that the avenue you took to get your white scars set up?

I picked up the ravenwing battleforce at first to flesh out my Scars. After picking up a few things here and there Ive grown to 16 bikes with one being a converted bike captain. I've built up 4 speeders. though still have just one attack bike. I'm picking up 3 more bikes through trades off that thread. I also will be buying a Vindicator tank and later a predator tank to help fix my lack of high strength firepower.

I have 2 baal preds I bought I also have a storm raven lolz but I don't think I'm ever going to use it now. I may try later for some sang guard but I never really grasped the idea of the DoA builds and I kinda just bought stuff thinking it was a decent list. I think that's why I like this blood rodeo so much it was a pointed direction with a weapons list and it was stuff I had. I think I may swap to another legion after this or go ork. I've always been a huge space marines fan but the space wolves were a little complicated when I started and now I'm wondering how well this list will work XD but I'm going to try my best at it and hopefully I won't have to lose to many units in the process of this trade.

Very true. hold on to those bigger things you never know if you'll find a use for them. Bikes can tend to lack high strength firepower so beware of this. Im beginning to start my second army now with Tyranids. Not sure why but something about those cute little buggers just gets me. It will be nice to be on something that isn't marine. I love marines but they do get a tad stale after a while. Orks have barely began to peak my interest recently. Im contemplating a biker list with orks. You can bring an insane amount of bikes with them at a certain point.

Well, I have a friend who wants to get into the space marines and we were going to split an AOBR box and I was going to take the orks. Because taking something that works perfectly well and making it orky is probably the single greatest thing I've ever heard. Plus, they're just AMAZING to look at when you have an entire WAAAAGH going XD
And I just don't know how well I'm going to do as a marine player but I have yet to really play the game so I may find I need a little less of this and little more of that ya know? I just hope I win SOME game with these bikes. How do you think this list will work out? Would you run it?

I think the list has a chance to be very effective. I should run similar to my Bike army as well. Always remeber your bikes are Relentless. That means you can move 12" and still fire any weapons as if you haven't moved. This means your rapid fire Bolters can get 2 shots at 12" range or 1 at 24" range. Relentless also allows you to assault after you fire your rapid fire weapons. Always unleash a full volley of fire before assaulting to help soften them up. Many people will tell you to stay away from assault, but I disagree. The added toughness of the bikes will mean less wounds on them. Stay away from assault with units that are very strong in CC.

When you get your first game going try to find someone who doesn't take the game too seriously. Playing other marines will be very simple, but playing other armies such as IG or Orks will feel very rewarding as you will kill alot of models. This doesn't mean a guaranteed win each army has its own aspects that can be nasty. Try to get about a 1000pt game for your first battle. Its a good starting point without things getting really complicated.

Most of all remember that this is a game. Have fun with it. you will win some and lose some. Don't take it to heart if you get crushed your first round. There is a decent learning curve. try to get a good feeling for the game.

Attack bikes come with multimeltas.

Bikers DO NOT come with meltas, unless you buy the 3 biker box set from GW, that comes with a metal guy with a melta, a metal guy with a plasma, and a metal sergeant with a sword.

Yes, they will require some fiddling with to get to fit on your guys, but they will be fine... and at that price, they are OK. I check ebay too, sometimes I can grab meltas at 2.99 each or so... I buy em from there then, because I like the plastic ones so much more.

The Ravenwing boxed set is great, because you can make a librarian out of a ravenwing biker fairly easily.... my librarian biker is the guy in blue in this picture - http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/283769-Aurora%20Chapter%20Task%20Force.html

Because librarians have blue armor, its pretty hard to mistake him. Give him a cloak, and a hood, and its all good.

Ok, so I'll have to buy some meltas and that's fine =) but I have to trade out for the libbys and the termies and the 2 attack bikes for sure. Which is no big deal I'M HOPING. and even blood angel libbys are blue? Who'd a known...
I'm excited about this list just because of the bikes =D that's why I swapped to it to be honest.
I hear razorback spam is the winning comp but meh I want some variety XD and I could buy the ravenwing set tomorrow maybe...I dunno I'll have to talk to the guy who owns mlgs >.>
how do you like your bikes? Have the been effective? and that's the whole fun of this build is getting the bikes into cc aside from the harder units like you said but I have some termies for that >-=)

In my experience, the main weakness of bikes is massed str 6+ shooting. Force enough armor saves, and they will die. Blood angels, with apothecaries, can fix that.. and an assault marine escort will make them much better. A blood angel force with bikes will play VERY different from a codex marine bike army... it should be fu. Hell, I might try it in the future

I was wondering about taking smoke and instead of the libby having the sword giving him the bubble so I have the FNP FC 25-30 assault marines and the bikes with all their load outs.

long with the feel no pain from the priest's I was look at smoke and the libby bubble to make them a little tougher as well but that sword of sanguinius and the blood lance sound like SO much firepower and fun

What smoke are you talking about?

If you look on the side of the attack bikes they have a smoke launcher or so I thought >.>

Why use smoke when you don't get to fire that same turn? And that only protects your attack bike. You might as well just turbo boost.

ah, see I haven't been able to buy a rule book yet either (College kid) if that's even in there and I've been painting assault marines lately and just kinda glancing through my codex to make sure everything is still on track >.>

Nah attack Bikes do not have smoke launchers. Someone over at GW got a little glue happy and slapped on a bit that doesnt even come with the bike. Idiot. Believe me with FNP and the added bike toughness you wont need much more. The best cover save youll ever get will be a 3+ after turbo boosting. Again though no shooting after turbo boosting. Be sure to give your Codex a read through. Look around online for PDF versions of the Big Rule Book. This isn't a substitute for the actual book but it will allow you to read the rules while you wait to buy it. Knowing the rules is by far the biggest hurdle to get over. I've been playing for a year now and am still finding things I missed before. Constant learning.

Using scenery you should have the charge so st5 hits before them, then hardly attacks going back against your FNP, it then just becomes a battle of powerfists.

Lot of meltas for that, I'm hoping to keep bigger creatures down. And they've also got suicide termies in place as well. I think the biggest part is the 25-30 assault marines coming up behind the bikes so if you do charge you get a boat load of marines down your throat =)

Got 5 assault marines 5 cc termies 2 land speeders 2 attack bikes and 15 meltas on the way as of 5 pm today =) hoping it'll round this list out nicely.
Any ideas on how to convert a libby so he can ride a bike? I was just going to put a bald head and paint him blue on a normal bike for two of them. Only reason I'm doing this is because the libbys you can order are all metal D=

Very nice collection you've got coming to you there. Id say that should be sufficient to get things going. When it comes to a Libby on a bike you can pretty well do what you want. There's nothing that is necessary to make it a libby. Make sure he is setup with the correct weaponry and he should be good. Maybe make him a bit more ornate then others. If you have any bits that are books maybe put that on his bike some how. Not necessary but it would further the look.

I don't really know anywhere that has the books though? Everything I could find is metal =/ I was gonna just paint him blue and give him a bald head =[ maybe my furioso will have some extra libby stuff on it.

Got a question for the community here.
You see the build and I have to wonder, does he have seargents in this build at all? Or are the powerfists on normal marines?

BUT! I got everything else I needed ordered

I took a chaplin biker and convered him to be a libby by replacing his weapon with a power weapon and painting him up like a libby. I also added a few books onto his bike. Pretty easy to do, and I got the model on sale from my FLGS as noone bought it for years.

What line did you get the books from? I haven't been able to find anything aside from sammael that has a book like that =/
