I thought they had originally said Joker was going to be the 'villain' in it?

Have we seen any of the other characters so far? Just curious how he'll look compared to the others.

They're clearly bringing this version closer to the one in The Killing Joke. I'm probably not going to bash it unless it turns out to be Batman Forever bad.

In my experience, which is tangentially related to this topic, is that Suicide Girls are usually compelling but crazy, whereas Suicide Guys are just try-hard d-bags. I'm getting a strong Suicide Guy vibe from this pic.

I heard if you write Clooney and send him a copy of your receipt for the movie, he will reimburse you for the movie.

I'll hold off judgement until seeing him in action. Not that my thoughts count for much, but ya know, TV vs. a still image.
If he can carry the role and make it work, guy could be wearing a trashbag for all I care.

Bat nipples were ridiculous because there's no reason to have nipples on your vigilante battle armor. A human being having nipples isn't a weird artistic choice on the part of the director.

Another Mask of the Phantasm like movie would be great.

Looks ok I guess, I just think it's a little too clean. If the tattoos looked as if he had done them himself then I think it might have worked better.

Will have to wait and see as it's the performance that counts.

Outside of sad internet echo chambers it isn't actually arguable at all.

Oh-ho! A guy on the internet makes fun of the internet, as if that makes his point. Very novel. Well close the whole thing down, folks. We're done.

Or, I could say that 'character' means a bit more than a name and makeup. Ol' Heath had both of those, or, well, one and a half of those, but how he acted seemed more like a laboured Danny DeVito impersonation to me, than anybody else. I could get Will Ferrell to dress up in blue and red and do his schtick, but would that make him a good Superman?

Don't worry - certain people consider that the Joker in those Nolan films was in all ways perfect and nothing negative is every allowed to be said about them - they are right and everyone else should just too the line as that the way the internet and in fact the world works - oh wait thats BS.

Oh and if you dare, really dare say that just perhaps the Nolan version of the Joker was just a psycho with "mary sue" super powers of prediciton - well your just a nerd and should be ignored.

Or that the whole film was horribly over long, Nolan can't and in fact won't write female characters to save his life and the whole film is a series of stretched out set peices in place of a plot.

nope only one specific view is allowed to be written or indeed listened to and everything else should be ignored and mocked - thats how free speech works.

Not a huge fan to be honest, but the performance is more important than the visuals, and as I've not seen Leto in anything so I can't comment there.

Honestly, I'm more worried about Will Smith as Deadshot, especially with the guy in Arrow having done such a good job.

Umm... this may be nitpicking but.... isn't the director's job to direct, not to write? So if you're blaming Nolan, the director, shouldn't you be blaming all the writers on the credits? (yes, Nolan is a writer of the film, but according to IMDB, he is one of four writers... so really, should be 25% to blame)

I wouldn't worry too much about Will Smith as Deadshot.

He's basically already played a Deadshot-esque character before in "Hancock".

If it was not the same in all the films he has made that I have suffered through maybe - it was just as bad in the god awful Inception...

Given the level worship heaped upon him - I assumed he created and did every single aspect of the film except acting.

going back to the OP - not sure about the new Joker image - but interested to see what they can and do do...

To be honest, Will Smith doesn't look that bad at all. He needs his eye-thingy though.

Harley looks a bit too cheerleaderish (and seriously, MORE tattoos?)

I'm kinda surprised they went with Katana - isn't she in Arrow right now as a proper 'hero'. I would have thought someone like Lady Shiva would be a better option?

Boomerang looks good enough too.

Croc and El Diablo look like rejected designs from a Star Trek episode.
