I agree. Its underwhelming and seems more like a henchman/punching bag for Batman.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
I get the henchman vibe as well... Perhaps it's his idiotic lack of shirt in the picture. ... The silver teeth could work, obviously the green hair works (would be better to see the overall "style" without his grubby mitts in the way) but all the tattoos and no purple suit?? No thanks.
For the record, Im not saying I cant see Jared Leto doing a good job with the part, I think from the neck up this guy has "A" look for the Joker. It really is just the lack of tailored attire that bugs the gak outta me.

Yeah, Joker needs his purple suit. Otherwise he's just a thug with green hair and creepy smile.

Right now he seems more Marilyn Manson than Joker.
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I'll have to reserve judgement until I see it. I don't think anyone wants to see Jared Leto try and be Heath Ledger, so lets see how this take actually plays out.

The thing is, I can see what they were going for. They needed a drastically different interpretation of the Joker to get away from Heath Ledger comparisons.
The thing is they went to completely the other end of the spectrum compared to what it would have liked. Personally I would have preferred more of an Arkham City or Injustice vibe. Tall, very slim, lanky and creepily *fast* at close range but ultimately better dressed than Ledgers version too.
Bonus points if you sound similarish to Mark Hamill too(Troy Baker doid well in Origins).
Overall the Suicide Squad DCAO movie will probably be the better incarnation of the Suicide Squad

Supposedly, Leto's been dropping Nicholson as the "inspiration" for Suicide Squad's Joker.
After being blown away by Heath Ledger's performance, and that gritty look with tangled messy hair, cracked running face paint, etc., Jared Leto's appearance for this role looks ridiculous.

I thought Nicolsons was the clsoest to the source material in the live action films - HL's version was well done but depended on Mary Sue / superpowered pereiction powers way to much.
Also IMO JN's version was scarier and also he killed many more people

Simplest issue with Ledger's version?
He was intended to be a player in the third film as well, and get more fleshed out there.
I do like Ledgers version, but my personal favourite is the Mark Hamill style Joker.
That doesn't necessarily mean it has to be played by Mark Hamill, - Troy Baker did an excellent job in Arkham Origins and I also remember the Joker in Injustice: Gods Among Us being of the similar style too.
So, going along those lines would be my preferred setup.

The Bruce Timm/Hammil style Joker is boss. Mask of the Phantasm did an especially good job with him.
