Kal Jerico is done or at least I think he's done will probably see the missed bits when I take the final pics, just have Scabbs to do and he's not far off.
Saw that on your insta and cried internally at my lack of skill. Well done QAR. I shall try to give you a run for your money this month...

OK, OP should be updated to this point. Amazing work so far!
@JoshInJapan You want to replace the 2 finished captains with the new team? Or mix and match? All of them would take you over the normal 5 model limit, but I might be able to forget how to count if you just want to enter the lot of them...
I’m at the dreaded edge lines and cleanup stage; my least favorite part of painting. But the gals are coming together nicely.
Proof and finished pics for my entry, a knight buried in his finest armour and subsequently dredged up to serve a dark master.

Might add some final touches, but for the moment this is done.
Just a reminder to folks looking for a subject poll for March, it's the annual Space Marines round. I'll confirm nearer the time, but hopefully I should also be good to resume running things from then, though I can't promise to match Nevelon's degree of efficiency...

Added you to the OP. If you do decide to change your final pic, let me know and don’t just do a stealth edit.
Enough people complain about me you felt you needed to return? Don’t feel pressured to come back if you are not up to it; I can do this all day. <insert pic of Captain America battered and abused, but still ready to fight> It is, of course, your show. I’m just keeping it warm for you. Good to hear you are feeling better and up for it!

I think I'll replace the Captains entirely. The next one in line is going to extremely frustrating and not a lot of fun to paint. I'll pick the best five of the team and use them for my final entry.

Thanks! I keep losing followers everytime I post these kingdom death pinups on instagram for some reason... Not sure if it's down to it not being Warhammer or people just don't like the subject matter, but hey ho.

Out of curiosity, are Space Marine-adjacent models acceptible? Naturally, I have a ton of unpainted SM, but since I don't play 40K anymore, they're pretty low priority for me. I'd be more likely to get some use out of Deadzone Enforcers. They wear power armor, so they're almost the same, right?
As with all the themes, if you think it can fit, it probably does.

Had fun painting these gals. Nice sculpts, change of pace. Contrast took care of most of the highlights. I did some on the exarch, but felt they didn’t add a lot, so just skipped that on the rest of them. Still bumped up the silvers a little.

Really? What the heck? I have like 5 KD minis on my desk and I'm a girl who likes to paint. I for one enjoy my warhammer but the community does have some very toxic cultural aspects. One of them is the hardcore fanboys. I lose followers over my female marines. Even get people who come to harass me and downvote my work. Imo, if those people unfollow you then good riddance to bad rubbish.

You know, when I search the kingdom death pinups tag on insta, most of the people painting them are female hobbyists... Yeah I know, it's weird. Like, I don't understand why you'd follow me for my painting then unfollow me because you don't like some of the subject matter on the lumps of plastic I paint... Oh well.

I find that happens mostly when I don't post Warhammer related content on my feed. Most people are after a specific type of content and I think that shows in the likes and all that engagement stuff. When I post the odd scale model that kind of stuff happens and that's what I put it down to and don't read any further into it.

For what it's worth, your art is fantastic and if they can't appreciate that despite occasionally seeing non-warhammer related posts then F 'em.
I for one want to try to paint that same model you JUST posted but in oils I think. Just cuz I'm afraid, I got TWO whole copies of her haha! I hope I can do better than my previous attempt now that I've been pushing myself to learn new techniques on blending. We shall see!

I need to do more in oils. I painted my Barliman Butterbur in oils and it came out ok, but there's things I didn't do like letting the paints soak on paper for a bit first, which would have vastly improved the work. I'm happy to just use the ones I have to improve certain areas of my acrylic work. I think trying to start all oils will be more hassle than it's worth at the minute.

I follow several mini painter instas. If they post a model that doesn't do it for me, I just wait until they post something else. It's your show, I'm just a spectator.
PS - The KD pinup is fire.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, I'm really hoping to get a model finished this month. I haven't entered in several moons, and haven't finished anything for the comp in even longer.
I have something for the challenge, just need to actually DO it!
