It's the usual Space Marine round to kick off the new rotation, I'll be setting it up tomorrow morning. At present the plan is for Nevelon to sort the vote for this round, but from there I'll be managing things again.

I had next to no time to do any painting for this this month. I did manage to get about an hour and a half to do this though. I decided to just paint quick and loose, trying not to think about it too much.

This is Vanessa The Treasure Hunter from Malifaux. She's swinging a flaming, possibly magic staff around. I consider that to be showing off.

Proof:

It turns out painting faces lit from below is really hard, particularly the tiny, detailed faces they have in Malifaux.

Finished my älf but will take advantage of the extended deadline (thx Nevelon) to make proper pics tomorrow, I'm too dumb right now to even set the focus properly

Ork Flash Gitz Captain, its a rushed job but an entry none the less and the best I can do with the very limited time I have at the moment.

P,S I know I've been letting you guys down with the League table updates, I should be able to get one out tomorrow so you can see the standings before the final vote.

Ok, so, as cool as it would be if I had, I didn't make those cars out of my proof materials. That was a shot of some materials for the League of Extraordinary Riveters Terrain challenge, "Dangerous Terrain". My proof pic was supposed to look like this:

and then I forgot to add it.

I didn't find the time or motivation for all five harlequins, and even had problems with the one I did complete. Managed something like a diamond pattern on the third attempt though. I couldn't think of what to do with the base at the last minute, so it's painted gloss black.

EDIT: Thanks to the extension I was able to get a photo in natural light. I still quite like the black background pictures though.

Okay, up against the deadline real hard, but I managed to squeak in. Here are the final pics of my Space Wolves Intercessors:

Glad I managed to finish, but I definitely had to rush and it shows. This has to be one of the more "phoned in" looking entries I've ever posted for one of these challenges. Bad even for me. Hopefully next month I'll put up a real show.

Of course, with the quality of what I've been seeing in the last couple of days, I'd be hard pressed to even get my best entry noticed! Good job you guys!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Also, great work as always Freya - your SW force must look the bomb these days!

I actually started this guy yesterday but forgot to post a proof after picking my jaw up from maxwin's entry!

So, here is the proof!

Someday I'll be able to play with it again. In my area, shops are still closed and I don't have friends nearby who play. But perhaps by then I'll be able to paint like you and the others

@Jadenim, thanks for the kind words, I’m doing well all things considered. My Initiative stat hovers somewhere between 0 and 1 under normal circumstances, so this past year has just been extra challenging to get any extra motivation. Maybe I’ll try to double down in March and get my entry and his banner painted so that I can be back in time for April’s comp.

As for all these stunning entries, well done all and I’m glad to see so many orks!

Done - here's my pompous show-off aelf, took a while to even figure out the paint scheme so didn't get very far with the others from the Underworlds box.
I like the Lumineth range a lot but they're admittedly quite ... weird, so I thought that giving them a kind of Prog Rock album cover / Métal Hurlant comics vibe with lotsa gradients and psychedelic colours might fit.

Slipped right under the deadline with this one. As I mentioned in my blog, the gold on these models was a pain in the to paint. I'm really happy with everything else though.
The warband is inspired by the cover of the new Hedonites battletome:

OK, I think we need to call this one done. I’ll start compelling the vote thread over lunch and after work.

Next round is already going. Get over there and start paining some marines. On the bounce! Everyone paints.
