I'm generally not a fan of the anime style heads (I prefer more naturalistic heads), but they do look much better (less manly) than the heads the kits come with.

Yeah the SOB models are very unattractive to me as a player mostly because the heads. Those anime ones actually look perfect to me for the body sculpts. Where did you get them? (File or print)

You may be in luck. The praetor is finished barring the trophy racks I've used to replace his little jump pack flags, and the banner bearer is in progress. Here's a wip

Finally managed to get some work on my entry done. Finished the conversion of my Ravenwing Chaplain and sprayed a first layer of black on:


Hopefully I'll get some actual painting done this weekend, but I gotta work on saturday.

Night lords praetor is done.

I'm going to go a little meta on the challenge, and paint something that's terrified me to attempt in case I get it wrong for over a decade - a Great Knarloc. I was lucky enough to get a second one at a good price around the same time, but as it's in the same pose and some idiot (me) botched sticking the legs on somewhat, I've got some work to do sculpting on a harness and enough baggage to hide the poor joins.

Oh, and of course the Great Knarloc beat out the ever more oddly named Terran dinosaurs for a starring role in Jurassic Planet in M35, so that probably counts too right?

I painted this guy up as a test model:


I didn't want to use a lot of red, as it seems a little too on the nose. I ended up going with a Gundam-inspired paint scheme. I haven't decided what to do with the disks on the shoulder pads, and the gun kind of blends in with the body suit. Also, I'm thinking about doing some weathering on the armor to distract from how asymetrical the sculpting is

I'm really not enjoying painting these models. They are very much of their time (just look at those Donald Trump-sized hands), and I just can't seem to get inspired. That said, I don't think I've ever been defeated by a model, and I'm not going to start now.

I just (almost) finished my Furioso Dreadnought.







UPDATE: I just realized I forgot to do the decals - I'll take new photos and resubmit later today or some time tomorrow.

UPDATE 2: Here are the FINAL photos of my Furioso Dreadnought with decals.

The two Pit Slaves are done, while the three Spyrers are still a WIP.

Its official - I love this kit! So much texture, it pretty much paints itself, although I've still got more to do.

Any chance I can tag this batman black mask onto my entry? I forgot to take photos before putting a couple of layers on but the model was only released last week so there's no foul play involved.

I'm in. I just finished making a Waaagh! banner for the nob that I entered in February's competition. The nob was completed previously, so I'll crop him out of my final pics and just focus on the banner itself.

Well black mask is done after a 3 day marathon. Knight models make some really great pieces full of atmosphere and character. Now I have a week to finish the orc.

My kitbashed nurgle demon is finished.

I’m calling this done now. I’m pleased with the Ambull itself, especially the blue glow effects. The green I think just about works. The little critters have not come out as I had originally envisaged, so I’m just going to stop now at the point of them being ok for target practice

I had honestly wanted to paint Lauka Vai for this month's challenge, but just never found the motivation to pick her up. In fact, I haven't had any motivation/inspiration for anything AoS or 40k related, as I'm uh... a round-shape deep into Marvel Crisis Protocol.

I did paint Mysterio this month, and his illusions do play off the fear of his enemies, so I think that is also appropriate.
