Sorry pet peeve and all but after that dragon I will forgive

Now I quite like the red armour but with the green skinned guy sorry that clashed way to much to work.

I like the turquoise with the red seems to contrast well once the whole mini was painted (no white undercoat showing which seemed to disrupt the flow), although Orange might work but it might blend to much with the red and you get the flame effect.

Will you be adding any design to the tabard/loin cloths ?As this might alter the choice of colour maybe yellow, however it might be to bright therefore a need for a design to break it up a little.

For sure orange and red work well together, but would I get enough contrast ?

Hmm building up a new color scheme is not easy. ^^
But well I prefer to spend time on this step before I start the cloning of my warriors.

Come on guys! For the record, my pet peeve is people not reading the words on someone else's blog. It doesn't bother me on my own blogs but it winds me up when it's someone else's for some reason.

Anyway, the green looks a little paler and more sickly now which I prefer. The green and red are a no brainer in my opinion, they look great together. Now you've put paint down on a whole model I think the turquoise looks a lot stronger, it'd be nice to see a washed out or a neon pink instead though just for arguements sake. The main advantage of the pink is that it'll be much more attention grabbing and really have presence on any table. It'll compliment the red but keep it a cold pink for contrast of temperature and to compliment the green.

I was actually thinking about the sort of things nerdfest09's been up to:

Tough call Minus. I look at them and my gut says "black". I don't know where or how much... but that's what the gut says. I'm not sure about it TBH. The gut leads me astray from time to time. It might just be that it's too uniform, so varying it my any amount (less drastic as graven proposes) might do the trick.

Black cloth, Red armour, grey-green skin is also a very traditional dirz scheme. Not being much help, sorry.

Okay, I modified my photo to try several colors :
- a darker turquoise
- beige
- black
- washed out pink
- orange
- green

Maybe it will help to imagine what it could look like :

Purply-pink rocks my world. Very deldar.

I guess for me it's not the cloth... it's the actual armor that's bugging me. But I don't have a good solution unfortunately as I can't quite put my finger on the problem.

Okay now I'm split between pink and turquoise... If you made the bluey lenses pink to match the pink cloth I'd be 100% in favour of the pink one.

Turquoise then black for me. For the red, I suspect it falls into too much or too flat - or you just need to add details and possibly chipping/weathering.

Ie - it might look better once you do the details and/or chipping/weathering. Failing that, you could try upping the contrast - deeper shadows, brighter highlights and more shades in between. Failing that, another colour (perhaps black) for the lower (closer to the skin) armour plates.

Though, come to think of it - have you painted the skin of the model's right arm red too - or is that meant to be armour? The red looks better on the upper body, and specifically the model's left side where the skin breaks it up.

For the armour, the problem is that there is too much red. Arakasi and Gits are right about it. It's clear when we compare both arms. I'll add metallic parts and it will look much better.
I still don't know wich color I choose for the cloth, but if i stick to turquoise and add metallic parts to the armour it should look like this :

Yeah the turquoise is excellent. Go with that.

The red is good I think it just needed to be slightly darker like dried blood perhaps? everything else seems to work for me! and the blue on that last shot is perfect choice! that model looks damn cool! :-)

Well it was meant as tongue in cheek but it still detracts from the model wether test piece or not, plus if you keep the habit up all time you never forget to do it when not doing test pieces

Turquoise stil works best for me and the red armour is fine IMHO, I like the edition of the darker armour pieces although will this not slow the process when painting (fast you wanted)

I think the main issue to address is skin colour this will balance the whole miniature, I was going to suggest as inmygravenimage mentioned a pale grey tone maybe with a green and purple wash.

I like the color of the cloth, but a purple or green might work too. I'd avoid the beige, orange, yellow end of the color wheel, I think it'll be to much with the red armor.

Nice stuff, the red looks sweet with the blue cloth, the contrast works well.

I'd like to thank everyone that posted here these last days.
I have come to a color scheme that I like, thanks to your help.

I kept the turquoise with a stronger contrast than on the test model. I changed the color skin to a lighter and less green shade. I added metallic areas to the armor.
And I'm still considering the idea of adding a freehand on the cloth.

Very nice first model, the cloth turned out fantastic , ultimately you choose well. I love the eyes and power line, the blend is so nice .

Looks awesome, I wasn't sold on the scheme, but couldn't put my finger on what was wrong for me. Now I see this one I think it was the skin colour.
